The only cool, updated shopping area around here (moved from Houston so we are missing a lot!), love it.

Bait and switch on advertising and in-store selling seems to be a continuing corporate strategy at…read moreGiant Supermarkets. At best, unethical. If you don't pay SUPER CLOSE attention to the wording, they will charge more. There is a sale now that if you buy two Marzetti dips, for $6.00, you get a free bag of baby carrots, normally $1.89. Their regular price for one dip is $3.99. I bought two dips. At home, we checked the receipt. We were charged for the carrots, AND charged $3.99 for one dip. I returned to the store and they merely gave me the difference back, and said that some of the different types of dip were not included in the offer, and that negates the lower price, and negates the free carrots as well. They admitted they put the dips in the wrong rows (though they had the specials listed in every row!). In that same trip to the store, We bought a pineapple, which in the sale was 2 for $5.00. We were charged $2.99 for one. I have had this type problem with them before. Most customers do not notice the charges on their receipts. The checkers often do not remind people to show their member cards, and it results in higher costs. We will never go to a Giant supermarket again, even though one is close to us.

A 3 is kinda being generous - as it's really a 2 star Strip Mall at this point. Anyhow this strip…read moreof Shops is in New Britain, right along 202 and used to be anchor by a nicely run Clemens Market that is now a "just OK" Giant Food Store. There is also a Dollar Tree, Heavenly Ham, a McDonalds (that's been around for agess) a local bank, and a Chinese restaurant. It's nice that it's here for locals to use, but there are better, slicker, newer, cooler hipper places to shop nowadays.

This is a strip mall and in the age of failing retail this brick and mortar area holds on nicely…read more There are several different types of shops including a somewhat high-end grocery store and probably the best liquor store in the county. It also breaks the 'strip mall' vibe by having several restaurants and a movie theatre offset to the main drag so there is a lot for entertainment and shopping. I would say the downside is the parking lot. The main line through it...meanders. It's the only word to describe it and this can be a little annoying when trying to drive through. I think i is someone's design to be more park like and avoid ridged straight lines but it means that in several cases lines of parked cars meet the main drag at odd angles sometimes making right of way somewhat ambiguous. also there is little in the way of a safe path to the buildings set away from the main strip so it can, in he evening especially, be a little difficult to get from one area to the other.

It has a recently rennovated AMC 309, an Olive Garden, The Greene Turtle and Firebirds restaurants, Staples and an Aldi to name a few of the big attractions. It is also conveniently located before the intersections of Route 309 and Welsh Road with exits onto each road. I would recommend checking this shopping center out for the stores, but be wary of the parking lot and layout of it.
