Although his services were expensive, we were desperate to help our daughter and willing to do whatever it took to find someone who could truly make a difference. So we decided to give Dr. Towery a try. Before seeing him, multiple psychiatrists had diagnosed our daughter with depression. But to our surprise -- and relief -- Dr. Towery determined that she did not suffer from depression, but rather was exhibiting rebellious behaviors typical of adolescence. In today's world, it's all too easy for professionals to prescribe medication and continue treatments indefinitely. It was a blessing to find someone who took a different approach and wasn't quick to medicate. Instead, Dr. Towery recommended insightful books and a practical rewards system tailored to our daughter's needs. We followed his advice, including delivering the "wake-up call" he urged us to give -- and it worked. We saw a 180-degree transformation in our daughter. Later, when our younger son was diagnosed with OCD elsewhere, we brought him to Dr. Towery as well. The bond they formed was incredibly strong. When the day came that Dr. Towery said goodbye because our son's OCD was cured, my son was genuinely sad -- he misses Dr. Towery dearly to this day. Dr. Towery is a rare gem in the field. I waited over a month to get in - which is expected, and filled out online forms that worked 50% of the time. Finally the day arrives and I was taken to an odd office where the woman was behind a desk/computer screen. As she confirmed who I was I realized something was off. She wanted to know what medicine I was on. She asked more than once. Come to find out she is not a therapist! She is a nurse for medicine management. She asked multiple times if I was interested or if I thought medicine would help me - I stated I should be diagnosed first? She stated she can not help me and I should see a therapist.....uhhhhh ok. So she informs me they only offer Zoom therapy! What alternate universe did I enter? She kindly offered to set-up an appointment/start the referral process and I said not to bother it is the opposite of what I arranged for my appointment. At the front desk they were discussing my situation in front of me (awkward) on the other side of the glass. As I was cut short with nurse - by having services misrepresented - I said I expect not to be charged for the time it took to not help me. They agreed and offered an apology. Jennifer is super kind, friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. When I had my newborn, I'd come to her weekly support group to get tips of latching, feeding, and all other baby related questions. You're able to do weighed feeds (weighing baby before and after breastfeeding) to see how much they took in. Jennifer also can help assess latch, and many moms book lactation consultant appointments with her to get 1:1 help. It was also really nice meeting new moms who had babies similar in age to mine. I was able to find my mom group through here, and now we meet up to do walks and park hangs. It's really nice that this group is offered to the community and I've found it extremely valuable for my mental health to be connected through this group. Why is it that his medical record has not been updated for more than a decade? Even in third world countries, the health care providers are the ones updating the patient records - no one expects the patients to maintain health records. I mean, sure if the patients transfers from another institution, but my dad has been with them for more than 10 years. This is ridiculous. I always have to add that the individual doctors are mostly fine, but the way they organize things is shameful for the Bay Area.

I asked for call backs, no response. The patient portal is a joke. You post messages, no response. The psychiatrist was no better at giving me his office's fax number or at filling out the paperwork needed in order for me to get my medication. He kept saying that he didn't have the time. Billing was a joke. All in all, the level of care gets an F. I happily left this group and went to a different place and received my medication within 24 hours. It took over 2 and a half months for my requests to fall in deaf ears. Don't use this group.
