We were terrible, and came in a few minutes late after a very rough morning. PAIGE turned our whole day around. She did such a beautiful job. I called the salon on a Tuesday hoping to make an appointment with someone for a hair color before…read morethat Friday because I was leaving for vacation. The person who answered the phone offered me an appointment on the following Thursday afternoon, the day before I was scheduled to leave. I was so happy that I was able to get an appointment so I quickly agreed. The person also asked me what type of color I was looking for so I gave a detailed explanation of exactly what I was looking for. I told her that I wanted three colors, a light, medium and dark ash blond with violet under tones. Maybe even some violet peek-a-boo trendles. As I was telling her, she was repeating what I was saying to her as she wrote it down. I knew up front that it would not be easy to achieve the color I wanted so I even told them my natural color is a level 5 and it pulls red when it's lightened. I wanted the stylist, Natalie, to know before I came in what she was getting into so that she would have the products available that she would need to do my hair. I even called the salon back on Wednesday morning and asked to speak to Natalie. I was told that she wouldn't be in until one so I told the person that I had an appointment with Natalie on Thursday and I wanted to speak with her so I could make sure that she had whatever she would need in order to color my hair the way that I wanted. The person said that they were leaving Natalie a message to call me back when she came in at one. It was 4:51 PM before Natalie reached out to me and she didn't even call, she sent a text. I messaged her back about 25 minutes later, at 5:13 PM, to make sure that she knew what I wanted and that she had the products available to achieve the color that I was looking for. After I typed everything out for her and sent her pictures, she didn't respond. at 6:36 I messaged her again asked if she had received my message. She replied back telling me that I sounded unsure about the color I wanted and told me that I needed to come in Thursday for a consultation and then we could schedule an appointment for later to make sure that I got the color that I wanted. I texted back that this was unacceptable. That I had done everything in my power to make sure that she would be prepared and it wasn't my fault that she didn't get back to me until nearly 7 PM the night before my scheduled appointment. She told me that she was not made aware of what I was looking for and that she finds out with the consultation that she does before every appointment. I told her it was unacceptable and that I was leaving Friday and it was too late to try getting an appointment with someone else. I also told her that the fact that she canceled my appointment and demanded a consultation would result in me leaving this poor review. Obviously communication is poor within this salon and leaves me with a question. Why was I scheduled for an appointment at all if Natalie requires a consultation appointment prior to her services??? I will never make an appointment with Trashy Roots Salon again which is a shame. From their reviews, it sounds like once you get your foot in the door, they do fantastic work! The problem seems to be lack of communication resulting in extremely poor customer service. Natalie mentioned that she is her own boss because she rents her chair. I told Natalie that I intended to reach out to the owner the next day but I didn't get a chance to do so. I was hoping that Natalie would explain the situation to her and I might receive a phone call. I didn't so this shows that either Natalie didn't tell the shop owner about the situation or she did and the owner simply doesn't care. Even if Natalie rents her chair and has her own business, I'm sure the owner trusts the people working in the salon to act professionally and to treat her customers with the respect they deserve. With stylists like Natalie working there, the entire salon shines a negative light in the community. I'm sure that some people who read my review will think twice about scheduling an appointment at all. Especially not one with Natalie. Thank you.

Not great for brows! Lacks customer service! The only lash…read morelift and tint I've ever had was done here, and I left genuinely questioning whether the service had worked at all. During the appointment, I was told my lashes might feel different afterward, and when I was asked if I noticed a difference, I honestly didn't. My lashes felt exactly the same, looked exactly the same, and even appeared the same color despite paying for both a lift and tint. I expected a noticeable curl and darker lashes, but I saw little to no visible change. My biggest disappointment, however, was my brow lamination. I came in about a month after Ulta had removed more hair than I would have liked from my brows. While my brows were not as full as they had been previously, they still had shape and enough hair to achieve a noticeable laminated look. Because of that, I expected the brow lamination to give them the lifted, brushed-up appearance that laminations are known for. Instead, my brows looked very similar to how they did when I walked in and lacked the polished, laminated appearance I was hoping for. After reaching out, I met with the manager, Sara, who agreed that my brows did not appear properly laminated. She explained that they were short-staffed and even mentioned that she needed her own brows done but didn't have anyone available to perform the service. She personally looked at my brows, acknowledged my concerns, and told me they were working on training additional staff. She offered me 50% off a future brow lamination once someone had been properly trained and told me she would contact me when that happened. That follow-up never happened. Months have passed, and I never received a call, email, update, or the opportunity to redeem the discount that was offered. More importantly, I never received the brow lamination service that I originally paid for and expected. While I appreciated Sara acknowledging the issue, offering 50% off a future service meant I would have had to pay again to receive the results I should have received the first time. When a service doesn't produce the expected results and management agrees there was an issue, customers shouldn't have to spend more money to receive what they paid for in the first place. Even that offer was never followed through on. What disappointed me most wasn't just the service itself--it was the lack of accountability afterward. My concerns were validated by management, a solution was discussed, and then I never heard from anyone again. Since then, I have been seeing Prisma Medspa and have consistently received the results I was hoping for from the beginning. The difference in both the quality of the brow services and the overall customer experience has been significant. Businesses doesn't have to be perfect, but they should stand behind their services and follow through on promises made to their customers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience
