I've been to at least 4 salons while living here and they were all 'meh.' So the last place I cut my hair was in Denver. Loved it however flying to Denver to just cut my hair is not sustainable! Services: I came here to see Kayla and she did a marvelous job! I have naturally dark hair cause i am Asian and i just don't like the way Asian hair turns into that orange/bronze color when you bayalage it or lighten it. Kayla used the color wheel to get past those colors i don't like and it took 4 hours! We did baby lights. Worth the 4 hours! It would not fade into those colors I don't like either. I also got a haircut and she did a splendid job. I felt so pretty and young. Most of all, my husband loves my new hair! Vibes: all positive ones. Kayla offered me wine, coffee, or water at the beginning and during the middle of my hair being processed. I declined cause your girl has a small bladder. Otherwise I would have totally enjoyed the compliments! I figure my post can probably help my Asian gals out there with darker hair especially if you wanted to bring some color without that orange look, now you know where to go! Happy pampering!

I have long, black hair and wanted some reddish-brown highlights without using bleach. I also didn't want to lose too much of my length. Indira listened to exactly what I wanted and made sure she didn't cut any more hair than what we had agreed on, which I really appreciated. As for the color, since my hair is naturally very dark and we didn't use bleach, the highlights didn't show up as much as we had hoped after the first appointment. Before I even had a chance to say anything, Indira brought it up herself and told me that she wasn't happy with how little the color showed. She asked me to come back so we could try another type of color, which isn't as strong as bleach but would lift my hair color more and help achieve the reddish-brown highlights I originally wanted. After the second appointment, my hair color turned out amazing! I was really happy with the result, and Indira didn't charge me anything extra for having me come back and redo the color. I really appreciated how attentive she was to what I wanted, especially when it came to preserving my hair length and making sure I was happy with the final color. I would definitely recommend Indira for both haircuts and hair color, especially if you have black or dark brown hair!

I felt humiliated sitting there looking in the mirror with those girls trying to pretend my hair didn't look a mess. Sam asking me " you don't like the volume" my hair was matted and dry from her brushing it multiple times. My hair clearly didn't get clean because it didn't absorb any water. I booked and paid $90 specifically for a curly haircut after explaining that I wanted more curl definition, styling guidance, and a cut tailored to my natural curls. Instead, the service felt more like a standard haircut than a specialized curly service, and I left unhappy with both the styling and overall result. Anna was very sweet and did try to correct the styling when she realized I was unhappy, which I appreciated, but ultimately the experience did not feel like the specialized curly service I had booked and paid for. UPDATE: The owner reached out after my experience and offered me a complimentary appointment with another curly hair specialist. I decided to give the salon another chance, and I'm very glad I did. My second experience was completely different. I was extremely happy with my hair and, just as importantly, I left feeling educated about my curls and confident that I could recreate the results at home. My stylist took the time to explain the techniques and products that worked best for my hair, which was exactly what I had hoped for from the beginning. I really appreciate the owner listening to my concerns and making an effort to make things right. While my first experience was disappointing, I'm very happy with how the salon handled the situation and with the service I received the second time around. Sara is our go-to detangler for my daughter, who is 8 years old, mixed, and has naturally curly hair that tangles and dreads very easily. When her hair gets to the point where we can't comb it out at home, Sara steps in with so much patience, skill, and care. She has a gentle technique that allows her to slowly and carefully work through the toughest tangles without hurting my daughter's head. That alone means everything as a parent. We've been to Sara about 2-4 times specifically for the detangling process. While it is an investment (about $100 per hour and usually takes 2-3 hours), she gets the job done--and done right. I'm always apologizing for letting my daughter's hair get to that point and feeling bad that she has to sit through it, but Sara never makes us feel judged. She's kind, understanding, and incredibly professional. The alternative, cutting her hair off--is way scarier, and thanks to Sara, we don't have to go there. If you're a parent of a mixed child or a child with very curly hair and you're feeling overwhelmed, book with Sara. She is worth every penny, and I'm beyond grateful for her care and expertise.
