I booked a consultation with Noah, and they were super sweet! We talked briefly about what I wanted for my hair, which included a slight trim and bangs! After booking an appointment a few days after, I arrived and got my hair done. I felt extremely comfortable in the environment, and I loved how roomy and clean the salon was. Noah made sure to check on me during the time to see if I was liking the progress. In the end, I loved the style that I received! It was perfect, and exactly what I had in mind. We had a consult prior to this and she agreed we can make that happen. 3hours in and I was on the verge of tears. My hair is not even close to red it's light brown with hints of copper. (Photos provided below). Keep in mind I have blond highlights in my hair- the highlights aren't even red? How can you mess up going from blond to red?! At $85 an hour, it was an absolute rip-off. I am completely disappointed and this is happening only 2 weeks away from my birthday, I am so embarrassed. I explained to her this color is nothing near what I asked for, she removed 1h from the charge because she knew she had messed up but that will not fix my hair. I had high hopes for this place. This was a waste of $170. 0/10 if I could give 0 stars I would. What even is the point of the consultation if you don't know your own limits? Unacceptable.

It's been some time since I've been a client at Tecnicolors, so take this review as not a recent,…read moreone-time specific, review, but a review built on years of going to Tecnicolors from when I was in high school to fairly recently. I don't go to them currently for cuts and color, but I have nothing against them save the few things I mention below. The Seagle Building location is simply splendid and the salon is lovely and it's pretty posh for Gainesville. Two incidents however with Tecnicolors stay in my mind, and they weren't horrible but still were kinda funny and slightly disturbing: First, one stylist I got when my long-time fave Rose left the salon (and town) was from Bulgaria. She was truly a sweetheart but ummmm . . . her English was badly lacking. Seriously. It was between her grasp of English and mine of Russian and some help from another stylist that we got through my haircut. This lady could, however, most certainly cut hair: problem was just communicating HOW I wanted mine cut for her to do her job. Second incident: with another stylist, I asked if I could get her to color my hair cobalt blue . . . see, I figured if I was going to do crazy color, I had best at least get a pro to do it and where better than at a salon called Tecnicolors? A friend who is a stylist in another city also suggested that I go to an Aveda salon (which Tecnicolors is) for such a wild color job because Aveda makes colorants that would do the trick perfectly. When I asked her about this, she said that yes, Aveda made the colorants to do what I wanted, but she couldn't do it at Tecnicolors because if some of that blue color got in their pale wooden floors it would dye them and wouldn't come out. Seriously? I mean they do red don't they and that also would have the capacity to ruin the floor, no? In any case, she suggested I talk to a stylist she knew at The Strand salon and see if that person would do it . . . The Strand is also an Aveda salon. So . . . my opinion of Tecnicolors as someone who has been a now-and-then client on and off for over 15 years? They know their stuff, they have a good salon going, and they probably can do what you request (except maybe blue hair!) so give them a shot. The two stories above notwithstanding, 90% of the time I've gone there for cut or color, they've done a stellar job.

Which I understand but he was deceptive in his communication and to me that is unforgivable. Plus one of the receptionists is very disrespectful, rude and inappropriate with clients. I really wish I could get back the money that I wasted there and the money I had to spend to fix his carelessness and lack of expertise on the area of straightening and color. I had met Dawn through a few friends who said she was wonderful, so I thought I would give it a try! When I first pulled up to the building I was a little apprehensive, because the outside looks small and older. However, upon entering I was pleasantly surprised! The inside was light, open and smelled wonderful! Dawn's room was upstairs, so be prepared for a couple steps! Dawn was so sweet, gentle and kind! She was patient with me helping me decide on the color to choose, and whether I wanted gel or regular. She was so thorough in describing each of my options! I have had quite a few manicures, but never one as relaxing, luxurious and friendly as this one! It was like a spa treatment! She not only painted my nails but massaged my hands, fixed my cuticles, exfoliated my hands and arms and then moisturized! The pedicure looks like it would be even more relaxing - there was a huge chair and all types of fun stuff! I will have to go back for that soon! The room smelled of lavender, there was gently music playing, happy posters and sayings on the walls, and at the end she gave me the buffer and nail file, which was very sweet. Dawn was so wonderful and thoughtful that she even walked me all the way out to my car and buckled me in so I wouldn't hurt my nails! If you are looking for a lovely, relaxing nail treatment I highly recommend Dawn at Studio B, she will make your day 100 times better!

I was skeptical of someone who says they can "do it all" but she genuinely can. I've come to her for natural styles (which she is so creative that it's unbelievable) silk presses, and full and natural leave out sew-ins. I've had her do feeder braids too. Courtney is professional, available to make an appointment the week of, and her prices are affordable. She uses professional products that have helped my hair retain moisture when it's otherwise very dry. Including Courtney, there are two stylists here and Novice does good work too. The shop is located right next to dolce vita. So if you have to wait (which I will say is sometimes the case) you can go grab a dessert.
