On January 15, 2026, I reached out to Mike, the owner of Screaming Chicken, to confirm an ABS flush…read moreon my 2024 Road Glide. I asked if he was still available and if he had the software update for the NEW Harley Road Glide models. He replied that he did have it, so we confirmed for January 16 for 9:30am but he didn't show up until after 1pm. He started the job with an understanding that he had a right ABS software to complete the job. After he finished the ABS flush, he let me know that he did not have the right ABS software for the new models so the ABS light would remain on but that he bought the new software, and was waiting for Harley-Davidson to send him information, so that as soon as he had it, he would let me know to finish the ABS flush. A week later, I texted him to ask about a quote for a tire installation and to check on him completing ABS update. He texted me the cost, but we were unable to confirm the installation date due to personal family matters I had the rest of the week.
Two weeks passed and since I had not heard from him for almost two weeks about completing the ABS flush job, I reached out to him. I texted him on February 11, 2026, but he didn't return my text. I also called him on February 12, but he did not answer or return the call. I called him on February 23 and 24, but he sent me straight to voicemail. On February 25, I texted him to ask if everything was okay and let him know I felt he was purposely ignoring my communication. I explained, again, that my family matters on the week of January 26, but he still needed to finish the ABS flush software update to remove the light of the dashboard screen and complete that job, that I was willing to ride up to north county (Oceanside) for him to finish the job. He replied that he had not purchased the software because the tire installation did not occurred on January 29, and he moved to Oceanside. What's crazy is that on the 16th (day of ABS flush), he told me he had bought software program and was waiting on Harley-Davidson to do "something."
Also, we never confirmed the tire installation date. I texted him that I would confirm on a later date, but I was unable to do so because I was traveling. If we would had confirmed a tire installation we would had communicated before his arrival to my house.
Plus, the tire installation is a different job from the ABS Flush. He informed me that he would not be completing the job and that I should take it to someone else for the light removal. However, I trusted in him to finish the job, so I paid him on January 16 for the ABS flush, he even signed my HD service records on my owners manual. Now, HD dealer services has informed me that I would have to pay to redo the ABS flush because they have to do it to remove the light. That means the ABS flush will cost me close to $600; between what I paid Mike and the HD service cost. I can't understand why he accepted a job where he was asked specifically about having the proper tools to complete the job, but didn't do the work to verify the software before hand. If he would have told me that he didn't have the tools, I would have waited for him to buy it and he could have still done the work. Now I'm going to be having to spend more money. Mike's actions lacks professionalism and integrity to his customers base.
