The providers are genuine and explain every step of your treatment in terms any non-medical professional can understand. Before I started treatment with Brigham Orthodontics, my inflamed TMJ was hindering my quality of life. It was difficult for me to open my mouth, painful to chew food, and my face was visibly swollen from inflammation. I had been told by other providers I would most likely need surgery followed by traditional braces. In my initial consult with Dr. Brigham, he told me that he was 98% sure he could alleviate my TMJ symptoms and straighten my teeth with just Invisalign - no surgery, no traditional braces, and he was RIGHT! Dr B also believes that orthodontics shouldn't be classified as a medical luxury and every person deserves treatment; his office worked with me, my insurance, and set me up on a payment plan that I could afford. I arrived for my scheduled appointment with Dr. Mabry after completing my pre-check-in less than a week prior. I had also recently spoken with a staff member, confirmed details about my visit, and even had the hygienist's name noted that I was scheduled with, so I had every reason to believe my appointment was set. Unfortunately, from the moment I walked in, the experience felt uncomfortable. The front desk staff appeared confused when I checked in, and I observed eye-rolling and dismissive behavior that immediately made me feel unwelcome. It became apparent that they may have been expecting to leave for the day and were surprised to see me arrive for my appointment. When the two ladies at the front told me I didn't have an appointment, I showed them that I had been receiving appointment reminders and phone calls from their office, rather than apologizing or offering a solution, I was told that I hadn't been seen since April and that my phone number was showing as "not deliverable" in their system--even though I was literally showing them the messages I had received from that same office. No one took ownership of the issue, offered an explanation, or made an effort to resolve it. This was not the first concern I've had with the practice. Over the years, there were occasions when I was scheduled with a different dentist instead of the provider I expected, without clear communication. During one visit with a newer dentist, I was told I suddenly had three cavities that needed treatment shortly after receiving a crown. The diagnosis felt questionable, and even the hygienist expressed concerns to me about the recommendations being made. That experience significantly impacted my trust in the practice. Combined with the high staff turnover I've observed over the years, the lack of professionalism and poor handling of my most recent appointment was enough for me to decide to leave. Rather than feeling valued as a long-time patient, I felt dismissed and blamed for an issue that appeared to originate within the office. You truly can't go wrong with any of their providers. Today I saw Toby for a cleaning and Dr. Murphy for a filling, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The visit was incredibly thorough -- Toby used state-of-the-art technology for an oral cancer screening, full periodontal charting, and more. The equipment used for the cleaning was comfortable, efficient, and spotless (also state-of-the-art). When I mentioned that I'd like to get my filling done the same day if possible, Dr. Murphy fit me into her schedule which was a nice surprise. The local anesthesia was completely painless, and the entire team was warm, personable, and great to talk to. Plus, having TVs on the ceiling made the time in the chair fly by.
