After waiting for months to see them, I had my first appointment. Loved it. My brows looked good after the first session but that fades. Once they faded, the brows were spotty; I could clearly see where her consistency in pressure was poor. This was my first time having my brows done and Chanmi said it appeared I was doing everything as I was supposed to in order to heal, and to trust the process so I did - it all went downhill from there. I have given Chanmi over $1000.00 (not including hefty tips) and my brows look like nothing has been done. I intended to discuss this with them at yet another touchup appointment (more money for Chanmi every time, so why bother doing it correctly any of the first few times, right?) but that appointment will not be happening. I had an emergency and rescheduled the appointment (one strike and you're out policy) once. The day before our rescheduled appointment, I woke up sicker than I've ever been - testing results were covid. I apologized immensely with a photo of my test because I understand people use it as an excuse often but I wanted to be responsible in not spreading it to Chanmi. Chanmi told me I could not come to my appointment and that she would also be keeping my money. I insisted that forcing me to forfeit my deposit because I cared enough about her health to inform her I had covid would not only be poor business practice but would encourage people to just show up sick (what else would one expect with a "policy" like that?). Brows by Chanmi begrudgingly refunded my deposit but not without unprofessionally posting our discussion and talking trash about me on local business and personal social media profiles and groups. There are a great deal of wonderful, ethical brow artists available who have respect for their clients, with or without a disagreement. Chanmi Joo is not worth the wait, the money, or the disrespect.
