It sounded like they were using some expired product or something along those lines, and that this person who was to do my eyelashes was inexperienced. When I tried to tell the technician I changed my mind about the appointment, the owner came out and convinced me to go through even though I wanted to cancel. That was a big mistake. She ended up performing the eyelash lift without asking if I had any contacts in, which I did, and I ended up getting a chemical burn on my eye balls and had a severe allergic reaction to the products used. When the technician was doing the eye brow wax she also kept going over the same spots over and over again which was very painful. She almost didn't even do the lip wax that I paid for, and I had to remind her. I ended up needing to go to urgent care 2 times and luckily my vision was not affected although I had a blood vessel burst in my eye which filled my eyeball with blood and had scabby painful eyebrows for the next 2-3 weeks. Terrible terrible experience. At least the owner refunded my money, but I would recommend going somewhere else.

Selah was my therapist and I was delighted to see her, having had her before and she is by far the best therapist to ever work on this old lady. I was greeted by the tattoo parlor receptionist and took a seat on the couch, being told Elijah was just next door. Three minutes after my appointment was to have started, I got a call from Elijah asking if I was going to show up. Uhhh... I'm at your place right now. ?! She said she would be right over. Twenty two minutes later, she showed up. I was upstairs waiting at her station at this point. She briefly said hi, told me to take off my shoes, and taped my bottom lashes. At this point, she started to gather her materials. I'm sitting there with my lashes taped shut and she's yelling to her assistant that she can't find her black lash adhesive. That she had it Friday but can't find it now. ... you're kidding, right? We're approaching thirty minutes after my appointment time now and it's obvious she never even prepared for my arrival. Finally the adhesive was found and she started lashing away, without asking me about preferred length at all. Whatever - maybe she has looked into what I'd had done previously when I saw her several years ago (also not a particularly positive experience, but I had hoped things had changed with the new location). Turned out not to be the case. As soon as her hands covered my face, the odor of weed and something else offensive assaulted me. The smell of soap was undetectable. From a customer service perspective, I wish I could give negative stars. From a finished product perspective... let's just say my boyfriend who has never commented on changes in my appearance except in a "that looks nice, dear" way told me this morning (just shy of three days after my appointment) that i should go elsewhere for lashes next time. My lashes are falling out and while they don't yet look bare and embarrassing, they also don't look full and beautiful three days after application. Lashes here are a waste of your money.

Adera, the sweetest owner, does makeup, waxing, facials, etc. I see her when I need quality makeup done. Not only is she thorough and creative, she is fast. She is always done within the hour. You can book with her via StyleSeat. It's very convenient especially for payment after your service. Adera also rents out chairs/rooms to other estheticians, nail artists, hair braiders etc. Her common-space is bright, clean, and tasteful. She has coffee and often has snacks. There's a mounted TV that plays music videos while you wait to be taken to your treatment room. I've never had a bad experience here. Although I come to see Adera, other staff have been friendly and welcoming to me. Highly recommend Adera's EUOC.
