This guy should be fired! Rough and very rude

Such a Horrible experience for my son, this new guy was very rude and really rough on my son's head. As he finished cutting my sons hair I told him nicely next time don't be rough to a kid and then he started yelling at me and told me get my son out of here that I am the one being rude. I've been sending my son and a lot of my family members come here for their haircut, but they certainly will get a really bad review and complaint about this guy you never treat customers that rude making me get out for telling him next time he needs to be gentle.

I have been going here for a few years and more recently to their new location further north on…read morePark Ave since it opened a few months ago. I highly recommend this place. Amir, Adam, Francie, and the rest of the staff are not only excellent barbers but really nice people. To, me people skills are very important and I like the friendly greeting I get whenever I walk in the door. I also feel that they (particularly my guy Adam) do an outstanding job. They take their time and I have never felt that they rushed to finish me no matter how crowded their waiting room might me.

So, I have mixed feelings about Park Ave Barber Shop. My barber was definitely diligent and…read morecareful. So my haircut was very neat, with very clean lines. The price was very reasonable, too ($15). So, I probably would have rated Park Ave Barber Shop much higher, if it hadn't been for two things. First, they used some sort of lotion-type substance instead of shaving cream when they used the straight razor. Normally, I wouldn't care about something like that, but I ended up with razor burn, and getting a little nicked up on the edges of the right side of my face. So, I guess I would suggest using regular shaving cream. Also, I feel like they took a little too much off when they were shaping up the lines around my forehead and sideburns. I feel like you should just take off the minimum necessary in order to get a clean, straight line; and no more. I might be back. I might not. We'll see.

This is the third barber I give five stars in the past ten years or so. First of, the barbershop is…read morereally cool, and they were playing good music. I saw kids, and college students getting haircuts from the two barbers, both of whom were very nice. I was happy with my haircut, and the barber used a razor to finish fixing it, which to me is the difference between a good cut, and some rando haircut place. She also asked me whether I wanted to trim or blend my hair, which is exactly the right kind of question, because I never know what I want and I have to be nudged in the right direction. I like the I could use a credit card to pay, and to leave a tip. My only suggestion would be for the barbers to use warm foam. Also New Brunswick is a pain to park in, so give yourself time to get there.

Writing a review after a long time doesn't come handy when you cannot remember the barber's name…read more I recently had a hair cut here going by the reviews and did a walk-in without booking an appointment. The place looked like a barber shop in the middle of a nice game room. The barber (sorry couldn't recall his name) asked the requirements and quickly jumped to work. He did a pretty clean job but I had a complete turn off when he assumed that I wouldn't need long sideburns and decided to chop it off short. I immediately told him that I usually sport long sideburns and he must have checked with me before proceeding. I was equally surprised that it cost $35 for a simple haircut. Anyway the place had good aesthetics and ambience and it would definitely cost that much if you are also making use of their pool table or the PlayStation. I also found the music little too loud as both of us found it difficult to hear each other.

If you're not ready to look the best you have ever looked, than this may not be the barbershop for…read moreyou. BUT, if you're ready to up your hair/beard game, than you need to book an appointment asap! I've followed Ryan from Bridgewater to Scotch Plains to Edison, and finally over to his own shop when it was opened a few years ago. Why do I drive from Branchburg to Metuchen and pass a zillion barbershops on the way? Because the quality of the cut and attention to detail from Ryan, and from all of the World of Beards barbers for that matter, is second to none. They take their time with their clients and ensure that each client is satisfied beyond their expectations. (I even trusted Ryan's recommendation on a new hair style that he felt would suit me better and, not only was he right, but I've never got back to my old style.) World of Beards = A great cut, great shave, great barbershop conversation, a beautiful shop, not to mention that they're phenomenal and caring human beings... I knew I found the right place when I could simply tell them to do to my hair and beard the way they would if they woke up one morning and looked like me, lol! Seriously, I've never had to point out something that didn't look right, and have never left unhappy. If you want a barbershop experience with no regrets, and more compliments than you know what do do with, the World of Beards is for you... Thank you to the World of Beards for making me feel like a valued client each and every time I'm there, and for making me feel and look more handsome than ever. God Bless!

I made an appointment through google like I usually do. I showed up and apparently my long time…read morebarber, Rae, moved out of state so she needs her name taken off. (She always did quality work). I figured I'd give this new guy Quan a chance. He was friendly but this is about the service provided. He absolutely butchered my neck and I don't have sensitive skin. He didn't even put on any spray or lotion for the burn. Picture is 5 hours later and my neck is still red and burning. I'd be surprised if he cleans his clippers. I've been going here for years but sadly never again.
