Found this on Groupon for my daughter. Space was tricky to find. No booking system that sends confirmations. Rescheduled the appointment once over the phone. When we arrived to the appointment a few minutes early, we knocked and received no answer. I called and she answered she booked the appointment on the wrong day and apologized, asked if we can wait for her to arrive in about 20 minutes since she said she was coming from a different location. After 30 minutes she arrived and let us in. She thanked us for waiting and apologized again explaining she thought she rescheduled my daughter's appointment for the next day. This is where a booking system comes in handy for a business (which are available for free). She told us the procedure would take 15-20 minutes...which was the basis of why we were able to stay, because we had somewhere else to be later. About 3 minutes after we arrived, another customer walked in for her appointment. 50 minutes later (and completing the aforementioned customer's service in front of ours) she finished. Had to listen to her make ignorant LGBT-insensitive remarks.. specifically that she thought the appointment was for me and that I didn't sound gay, that the only men who get eyebrows done there are gay. This was the final straw for my daughter and I, who are both LGBTQ activists. I've never experienced a less professional, more inappropriate and totally unacceptable to experience in the salon/personal care/beauty industry before this. Even if she believes this, why would a small business owner think her place of business and customer's first impression is the time and place to voice her sexual orientation stereotypes?? To make matters worse, I posted a review like this on Groupon (limited to 160 characters) and was going to leave it at that. But, she made the mistake of replying to the review with an absolute denial of what I typed above, then assigned blame to me. She told me to tell the "whole truth" so here it is. You can hopefully read her response on Groupon and be the judge for herself. Nevertheless, her lack of honesty, accountability, and professionalism is why I posted this review and I hope she uses this as a launch pad to learn and grow, not a lunch pad to throw a verbal assault at a first time customer. read more
