The place has a very German/Austrian vibe with a lot of dark tone wood, a number of taxidermy animal heads, and some pretty intricate woodwork. They were able to serve our party of eight very quickly, and made for a very enjoyable and comfortable dinner, as we ended up staying there for about 2 1/2 hours. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a very nice park outside. It was nice to let the kids go run around while we were waiting for the food! The servers were very attentive and took good care of us. I have no idea about other Austrian options in the area, but if you're looking for something classic, this place is one you should check out.

A beautiful florist on one side, a sweet cafe filled with plants on the other- it seemed a cool idea. Today I wandered in with a friend to look at cactus, planning to grab a coffee and some cake after our plant shopping. Walking into the back we were a bit startled but also delighted to see two very large parrots, walking ropes suspended above us, eating crackers and cackling loudly. Thinking it just added to the interesting atmosphere we continued to shop. A few mins later my friend said "oh no, we need to go to the bathroom!" The giant parrot had shat on my jacket and my scarf. I took off my coat and my scarf to find that there was large amounts of shit in multiple places. I went to the shop owner and she scolded the bird lightly, "oh Charlie" she said, and that was it. Taking a light sponge to my coat she rubbed some water on it, still leaving white streaks. I asked her for the sponge and spent about 5 mins trying to get everything off. Once I finally finished cleaning my coat (it was wet now and we were about to go outside) we turned to leave and the woman didn't even say good bye. No apology. No offer of flowers or coffee or anything to make me feel comfortable or invited to return. As soon as I got onto the street, I realized that my purse was also covered in parrot shit so I went back inside. Still no apology, I scrubbed some more and was only offered a towel to dry my now wet bag, jacket and scarf. I'll need to dry clean everything and I won't feel comfortable going back to this store because zero responsibility was taken for what happened. Birds will be birds, but not EVEN apologizing for literal shit all over a customer was some of the worst customer service I've EVER had in Berlin (and that's really saying something!)

The beers are large and cold, the burgers freshly grilled with a nice char, and the proximity to Berghain guarantees quality people-watching throughout the day. The grill is a bit pricey, with burgers for 7 EUR (no cheese) and a small plate of fries for 2 EUR, but it's all high-quality and tasty as hell. The burger comes topped with grilled onions and a cranberry relish that is outstanding. The fries are so satisfyingly salty to counterbalance an afternoon of Radlers and Alsters.
