Anywhere else I paid with big bills the person just passed a marker on the bill, checked it in the light and that was it. Not here ... it was like they have never seen one before. 3 employees looked at it for minutes and decided to call the manager to check it. After an embarrassing 15 minutes of waiting in line for the manager to come, he finally decided to show up, took a marker and passed it on the bill and what a wonder: it's a good one. I asked him if he was the only one qualified to pass a marker on the 100$ bill to check it and he said yes, "only management" can do it. Well, I guess he is very proud of himself, the test he had to pass to be "qualified" for this operation must have been veeeeery difficult! Hold on tight on that marker Mr. Manager, you are so qualified to do it! As for me, I guess that was the last time I am going to Winners in Fairview!

Their style was fresh and modern but also had some classic clean items plus bold colours. Since their foray into Canada they have carried this similar business model that I once remembered 20 years ago when visiting the gargantuan stores in SF, NYC and Chicago. The store here at Carrefour Laval is well laid out nicely decorated and offers lots of items. However I'm a bit surprised how much their items appear to cost in Canada. Sure I know this place is not Ikea particle board furniture AKA kill your fingers putting together with a mini hex wrench. However Cadillac Fairview (Carrefour Laval) must be charging a stranglehold rent for them to have to charge what they do for items at a mall location. Selection is very good and they have high quality items. Really you can decorate the house to make your place look snazzy! A great place for office worker gifts or for the wifey or GF to get you out of the doghouse. If you are patient check out some of their name brand items and order online. You will definitely find cheaper.

Multi-Luminaire Pointe-Clare was the only store where I could find quality floor lamps that have an…read moreacceptable design, won't scare you at night and will indeed illuminate sufficiently your long winter nights. The selection in the store is really good compared with the numerous similar stores I browsed recently in search of proper lamps. Prices for some items are a little bit obnoxious, the products I picked were on discount and I chose to absorb the cost, and upgrade from the practical cheap, but falling apart Ikea lamps. The store was overcrowded during boxing week and service was slow. Shop your lights in the evening if you can get there before 6pm at the beginning of the week. You also may wish to check the description of the product online while in the store as some questions I asked were not answered accurately and some others I even didn't think of asking. One of the items I bought was not available and the personnel didn't necessarily follow on the committed delivery date. Anyway I called multiple times and finally got my luminous beauty. I can't say the service in the store was amazing, but in the end is beyond the three stars. Multi-Luminaire Pointe-Clare is far away from where a live, but I would return there because of the extensive choice.

Terrible Quality and Service - Avoid Décor-Rest and JC Perreault…read more This has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating purchases I've ever made. I ordered three custom sofas from JC Perreault, manufactured by Décor-Rest, expecting high quality and durability. What I received was anything but. After waiting six months for delivery, one of the sofas started to fail within another six months--springs were literally coming out of the seat. It took over a month for anyone to come and fix it. Fast forward eight months, and the same sofa broke again in the exact same way. This furniture is in the home of an elderly woman, with no children, no pets, and very light use. If a sofa can't survive in that environment, I can only imagine how quickly it would fall apart in a home with young children or animals. It's not only disappointing--it's dangerous. The fact that this happened twice with the same piece shows a clear failure in Décor-Rest's quality control, and JC Perreault's after-sales service was slow and unhelpful. They were quick to take our money but nowhere near as responsive when things went wrong. A sofa of this price and brand reputation should last for years--not fall apart twice within less than two. This is not an isolated issue; it's a warning sign. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from either of these companies. Buyer beware: you're on your own once they deliver.
