Kind of obsessed with this place! This gym has more amenities than I can even count. But I'll try…read more One, they have a group fitness space where there are water rowers that you can use when the space isn't being used. Score. Two, what personal training gym do you know that has a spa-like locker room with showers, vanities, AND a dry electric sauna with wood-paneling and benches? Three, they have a front area for cardio and a fun little recliner seating area with Hyperice leg air compression massage things that feel super after a session. Four ... been training with Nick Young - I am never bored during our sessions and they are over before I know it. The results are resulting. Five, the staff are so wonderful with amazing personalities. Truly feel like I am one of the family when I go there.

I decided to try it, especially with the offering of a free strength assessment. I was assigned to a new personal trainer fresh out of college. It turned out to be just what I needed. Nathan Brown did a full assessment and knew right away what kind of a workout I should start with. He is one of the most positive people I know. Even on the days I had to work hard just to get there for my training, I always left with a sense of accomplishment and more positive self-talk! Nathan has even provided virtual workouts to save me the hour drive to town. Those workouts turned out to be just as exhausting as being there! Nathans smile and positive energy is contagious. I have developed improved health habits because of Nathan and the offerings NWPT offers including the evening talks from health professionals. If you want to be around positive, uplifting people NWPT is the place to go.

I joined a Fitlandia running group shortly after moving to Portland. I wasn't much of a runner and…read morewas concerned I'd fall behind the group. Christa is absolutely great at making sure everyone feels comfortable and making the group a non competitive one. Running was hard at first but I quickly got hooked on it and looked forward to seeing my fellow troopers early mornings 3 days a week. The power of the group really works wonders for motivation, and christa is one of the best group leaders I've ever come across. She has an infectiously positive energy that permeates across more than just exercise. When I was struggling and looking for work, she kept me thinking positive and striving toward my goals. Something must've worked because I got my dream job! I'd recommend Fitlandia to anyone looking for a positive, healthy change - be it large or small.

First off, I'll say that this is a group that is in it to support fitness for the long haul. There is no "go till you drop" mentality - it is supportive, fun, and is designed to allow folks to safely and find their own appropriate challenge level. This is fitness with two awesome twists. The first twist is right in the tagline - a "subconscious twist" - and it's highly insightful. How many of our exercise and fitness decisions (and any decision, really) are driven by subconscious stories we tell ourselves? If you haven't thought much about this before, I'll spare you the suspense: A LOT! Fitlandia beautifully incorporates this aspect of ourselves into an overall fitness program that lasts for the long haul, not just until you can see your leg muscles again, or until you can fit in those pants, or until your wedding is over, or until you're bored or frustrated or whatever. The second twist is Christa King, the motivating, positive minded mastermind and cheerleader behind Fitlandia. She brings a diversity of experiences and an intuitive intelligence to take Fitlandia from a brilliant concept to a concrete fitness program that will change lives for the better. Needless to say, I'm sold.

I learned to row! I can't say enough good things about this experience. Rick was my instructor,…read moreand he is so knowledgeable, experienced, and chill, I never had an anxious moment. They have youth groups here so you have to keep that in mind if you want a less crowded lake. Also, if its during lessons there might not be an extra boat for you. But time it right and you can be out there nearly alone (row with a buddy, do I need to remind you why?), with glassy calm water, a bit of mist clinging to the surface and the calls of birds all around. Membership, if that's your choice, comes with a place to store your own boat and permission to use the club boats. It's a comfortable facility with plenty of parking and a spacious dock. I have a rowing machine that I use regularly. I knew being on the water would feel different, but land based rowing def helped me. You'll want that endurance in your heart and arms, and strength in your glutes for a long row. Dont worry if you're new, though. It's not so difficult that you can't enjoy it while you're building your skill, confidence, and strength. I'm looking for people to row with, so dm me if you'd like to go together.

It was a combination of loving, supportive and knowledgeable coaches, dedicated and happy teammates, and the sport itself. I considered the team my family! First counselor was rude and unprofessional. Told him went on a date with someone then later asks…read moreor tells me about how I was dating someone. No sir, it was one date and horrible. Asks several times about price changes for my dropshipping store, it's really not that difficult to understand. I don't know why he asked so many fucking times about it, it was super annoying. Had to explain to him at least a few times about High intensity weight training as he kept confusing it with HIIT (high intensity interval training). Also told him I have brain fog and can't remember well then kinda shamed me when I couldn't remember my grades from high school (wtf?). Tried bringing up past trauma from a hostile work environment and just gave me a weird sideways look. oh also said that my purpose in life isn't to "do dropshipping from my mom's basement" when we don't even have a basement. Told me he doesn't think he's being helpful and didn't bother him. Not really good at listening either. Never said I thought my purpose was dropshipping either, just a business idea I was running at the time and have moved onto bigger and better things. Didn't really acknowledge any of my physical health problems, said something along the lines of "oh well counseling and medication fixes all of that", well it didn't. Told me or implied if I get a job at Safeway, I'll be able to get a new PC and have "purpose" in my life. What a ton of horse shit. I'm making 15 an hour with benefits and still barely getting by. Have a new PC, but I still need to upgrade it. Tried relating about how my dad is miserable and takes it out on me and others, and says at least he's able to support you. I guess counseling these days is just shaming and judging people. He should honestly get a different job or get a refund on his BS social work degree. He's a dumbass. The other two counselors were a lot better but still not much of a help either, unfortunately.
