The coaches and staff are all incredibly supportive and want to help meet your goals whatever they are. The first class is free!

I messaged OTF via Instagram, got a call back, and was told that my studio would reach out to me in 3-5 business days. It's now been 10 business days, and NOT A WORD. Below is the email I sent to David Long, the co-CEO (and copied owners and managers too). I've been denied a copy of my contract (as have other members). Also see other negative reviews specifically mentioning the manager. _______________________________ I've been a fanatical member of OTF since December 2022. I've participated in every challenge, bought every piece of merch, and even won the Transformation Challenge at my studio in 2023. I share it on my social media, go to studios wherever I travel, and in general evangelize the program whenever I can. I've had amazing results and it shows. After a few years of begging, my husband joined. He attended for a month and needed to cancel. He signed a cancel form on 9/1 at the studio ( I was there) without issue. The next day, the SA Sydney called and was nasty, telling Mike that he had to pay regardless and would not be able to use the classes he paid for. I could not believe he had such a bad experience and asked Marilyn Terry, the manager, to call him. Instead of working with him and resolving the issue, she doubled down on what Sydney said, that he had to pay and could not use his classes, and said she would back her staff over customers no matter what. She then disconnected the call without warning. Yesterday I got a text to update my billing info - and I responded with a text that I would do that - and expressed my concerns about how Mike was treated. I'm at work, so I checked my personal email a few hours later...and had an email from Marilyn that my membership was cancelled and that I was not welcome at any Richmond studio. No mention of cause, warning, nothing.... I've attached all of my correspondence so you can see what I said (named in order - 1, 2, 3) - please keep in mind the email was sent AFTER the text I sent - clearly a move meant to penalize me for expressing my opinion. I cannot believe in 2024, a successful, visible business is run by someone who would retaliate against one of their most visible, successful, positive members in this way. You might also want to reach out to other members who have cancelled - many people have had similar interactions with Marilyn.

However, unfortunately last night I had a very unpleasant experience that left me quite disappointed. After finishing my workout, I discovered that someone had broken the rear window of my car and attempted to steal from it. Fortunately, I did not leave my purse or personal belongings inside the vehicle. What concerns me the most is that the parking lot does not have security cameras. The gym staff was kind, and although they told me there was not much they could do about the situation, they did help me file a police report and clean my car a bit, which I truly appreciate. They also mentioned that this type of incident has already happened at least five times before, both during the day and at night. As customers, we assume that we can work out with peace of mind, believing that our vehicles are safe. I believe the gym should reinforce parking lot security, as situations like this create stress and insecurity and negatively affect the overall experience for members who attend regularly. I hope this review encourages management to take action and improve security for all members.

I experienced repeated unwanted contact from trainer Saquan Pugh after I clearly communicated that I did not want to engage with him. Incident 1: Between 10-11 PM, when the gym was nearly empty, Saquan approached me while I was alone. He commented on my shorts after I removed my sweatpants, looked me up and down, and stared at the tattoo on my thigh. When I explained it was a memorial for my grandfather, he responded that it was "very sexy." I felt uncomfortable. Incident 2: After reporting the first incident, I was told Saquan had been instructed not to approach me. Despite this, he approached me again, waited until I was alone in the free weight area, and tried to talk to me. I told him directly I did not want to talk, but he ignored me. I asked another member to retrieve my belongings to avoid further contact. He followed us and became loud, questioning why I spoke to the other member but not him. I immediately left the gym and contacted management. I also filed a police report to create a formal record of the incident. Management reviewed security footage and responded that the interactions appeared "cordial and appropriate." They also stated that Saquan supposedly did not realize I was the member who had previously expressed concerns. In reality, he has approached and spoken to me every single time I have been in the gym, including instances when I clearly indicated I did not want to engage. Management confirmed that the cameras only retain footage for two weeks. The incident I am reporting occurred on January 30, and I had not been to the gym since mid-December. This means the only footage that could exist would be from January 16 onward, so the footage they reviewed could not fully capture my interactions with staff or the context of the incidents. Management also stated that trainers are encouraged to approach members to build relationships. Below is a screenshot of the full email I received from management for reference. While my membership was canceled, the response minimized my concerns and framed the situation as a misunderstanding. I felt unsafe being approached repeatedly after clearly stating I did not want contact, and having management dismiss it. I am sharing this so other women can make informed decisions about where they choose to work out.

The facilities aren't anything luxurious but they had everything I needed, so I decided to join. Since I was a student/ first responder ( forget which reason), I was promised that my contract was cancellable and month to month, which was great since gyms now a days are seedy and make it impossible to cancel with them. I wasn't given any paper copy of my contract to read along and I realize this was my mistake- don't trust anything any gym tells you unless you see it in writing. I called months later to cancel my "cancellable" gym membership and was told that they know about their staff member lying to people about their contracts and unfortunately can't do anything about it and I'm essentially SOL. Nothing was offered to remedy it other then a "we can't do anything since he has already left, but you can buy out your contract by paying the rest of the months (1 year term)". I eventually paid out the whole contract because I was tired of seeing the payment every month and wanted to get it over with. I've definitely learned my lesson. Funny thing is I've been receiving emails and texts from staff saying they're missing my payments. Called them, thought they fixed them, but still receiving them. Bottom line, this gym isn't any different from the scummy contracts offered from planet fitness, golds gym, etc. Don't let them take advantage of your money with seedy business ethics.

My local YMCA (John Rolfe) closed recently and we don't really like Tuckahoe because it is usually…read moretoo crowded. So we checked out acac. This is a fitness Mecca! Here's my impression after the first week: Signing up for membership was challenging. The price we were quoted over the phone was different than what we were told when we showed up to join. And actually we had an appointment with the membership director and he was on vacation and everyone from membership was gone so one of the front desk attendants gave us a tour. They also gave us a pass to the weekend to make up for the debacle. When we showed up on Saturday we met with someone in membership and that's when the pricing changed because what we were quoted only covered 3 people. So we paid extra for the fourth and our fifth couldn't join because the cost of their membership was too high and she is a student (my daughter). She is 26 so that's why she has to have her own membership. I get it. Also the hot tub and rooftop pool is extra, so be aware. They also have a Recovery area that includes infrared saunas and cold plunge, plus a variety of other equipment. That's an extra charge too, but the first month is free so you can check it out. Other than that miscommunication, it's been pretty seamless. Every staff member I've encountered has been professional and super helpful. Kudos to the center for hiring great people. Any kind of exercise you could possibly want to do is under the roof of acac or at one of their other facilities. The classes and yoga studio is top notch. I've done a few classes and also yoga, signed up for the egym and have used the hot tub, sauna, plunge, etc., and it's all been good. It's only a week in and I feel right at home and motivated to work out every day. I still have so much more to try! I love that I can do something different everyday so I don't get bored. Joining acac costs more but so far it's worth it for us.

It all started with the day after I became a member, I had an appointment to get my free health/ body analysis. But when I showed up, the trainer was too busy to do it. So I rescheduled it a few days later and the he never show up. Wtf... At that point, I didn't care about it anymore. Fast forward to 2017 and my locker was broken into at about 10pm. Luckily, I didn't have any money in it, but my car keys were missing. So not only did I have to get my car towed to Midlothian, but then I had to pay $300 for a new fob. There is a sign in the locker room that says not responsible for lost or stolen items. And I understand that, but when I told them what happened, all they did was offer me something from the cafe and issue me a new keychain card. When I talked to the guy at the front desk about my locker, he did say he saw someone rush out with a suspicious long bar, but he didn't get a good look at him. So when I asked about the video camera at the locker room entrance, that was also no help at all. Lastly, when I asked if they could catch the guy if he tried using my old keychain card, they told me there was no way to tell when that particular card gets used. Smh... At that point, I called it quits. The whole situation was just very disappointing... Another annoying thing is that no matter what day or time I go to this gym, even if it's the middle of the summer, most of the ceiling fans are off or on the low setting. Smh... If I want to sweat that bad, I'd prefer to go in the sauna... As I said in my previous reviews, I do like this gym. And if you can get past all the wannabes taking pics of themselves, video chatting, and the million other annoying and inconsiderate things they do that can be pretty distracting during a workout, this place would be pretty awesome. This place has pretty much everything that anyone could ask for in a gym. Yes, the price is a little higher than most other gyms, but you pretty much get what you pay for...

However I can't really get with a gym who uses their managers to spy on patrons under the guise of working out in their off hours. I film my workouts for form and as I was filming an otherwise anonymous gym goer identified herself by name as Valerie as "one of the managers here" and informed me I couldnt film while other people were on the floor. Reason being some people may not want to be filmed. Fine reasoning although with the signage on the door saying only people 18 and older are allowed in the gym it's crazy to me that this person chose to speak for other grownups. I get it, policies are there and they apply to everyone. Doesn't make it any less ridiculous and that "manager" is unprofessional. First and last time at this location for sure.

The ad stated limited spots so it was a sign that people were signing up and when I clicked on the link, it appeared as if there weren't any left.. However, I was fortunate and received a call back. Again, I was skeptical because FB ads are tricky and that's to the general look of ALL ads I saw on FB. I was contacted a day or so after directly and appointed a time to have a consult. The place was tricky to find but it's tucked away where other warehouses are and sporting facilities. Who knew there was an area back there. Anywho, after consulting and learning about the type of exercise, the time offered, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and signed up. Again, I was very hesitant because I was nervous about group exercises and fearful of appearing unfit or ashamed but I took a leap of faith and said , Yes! Jumping ahead, the people are SO welcoming and the trainers are absolutely supportive and very easy to speak to. Yes, they encouraged me to push hard but it was the kick in the butt I needed. The coaches were never pushy, they were attentive to my limits and personal goals. Lindsay and Sean were who conducted the classes and they both complement each other well in terms of personality and gym environment. Pricing.. yes it can be viewed as expensive but it is not quite different in comparison to the amount you would spend on a personal gym trainer. Now if you're looking for more of a gym such as Crunch or YMCA where you are mainly independent or have a different fitness focus, then you may doubt membership here. This gym is VERY diverse in workouts, uses body exercises, and lifts. Each day offers something different and that is why I absolutely have yet to be bored from it. The workouts are challenging but you are never asked to go beyond your comfortable limits both physically and emotionally. The gym itself is just very fun, cool, and casual. They have a range of equipment from weighted balls to squat racks. If you like the pump, the burn, and sweat I believe you will enjoy the experience. Nutrition advice is offered as well and more independent plans if wished for. The facility has been open for I believe 6 or 7 years now which is a fantastic sign. The vibe is very familyistic and everyone truly is impacting. I would recommend the place to all of my friends and family just to at least give it one day's try. Anywho, I love it!

When I moved to Hanover, I had to let my membership go because I simply couldn't drive that far every time I wanted to work out. Since then, I've continued to support the gym as a guest instructor, helping with multiple classes--including set-up for Halloween and other special events--often using my own personal décor and supplies so the members could enjoy a fun and memorable Zumba experience. Both the previous manager and the one before that understood my situation and appreciated my ongoing contributions to the Monday night Zumba classes. There has never been an issue--until recently. A new front desk employee has become increasingly overbearing, rude, and aggressive. I completely understand if there are new rules or policy changes, but her approach is unacceptable. Her rules seem to change day by day, and she even charged three members $25 each for a one-day guest pass. During November--when Mondays were specifically advertised as "Open House Mondays"--she still attempted to block guests from attending the Monday night Zumba class. When confronted, she began removing the open-house signs posted throughout the gym, but she missed one, which I photographed for proof. On top of this, she involved the manager of the personal training department, who has no connection to the Group X team. That manager then entered the Zumba class, took the microphone, and scolded the entire room--calling out a member's daughter by name. Her interruption caused the class to start late and embarrassed participants to the point where a new member even raised her hand to ask a question as if we were schoolchildren. The unprofessional, holier-than-thou tone was completely unnecessary and disruptive. I have tried to keep my concerns to myself, but after seeing this gym receive an award for "Gym of the Year," I could no longer stay quiet. Zumba consistently brings in more members than nearly any other class. I have personally witnessed non-Zumba classes with only one to three participants. Alienating your largest and most loyal group of members is not a sustainable strategy. The Zumba community is tightly connected, and negative experiences spread quickly. If the current treatment continues, you will see members leave simply because they feel disrespected and treated as second-class. At this point, the behavior described is damaging your members' experience and your instructors' ability to do their jobs. I strongly urge management to intervene immediately and real change is seen Nicole and Mara are the employees
