~ FUN, CHALLENGING WORKOUTS ~ Been trying out F45 with my husband since we have a 1 week trial and so far, so good! I like the variety of workouts and classes that they provide. Def challenging, but you get what you put in! ~ VARIETY OF CLASSES ~ The workouts are 45 min. each, varying in types (strength, cardio, hybrid: cardio & strength). I especially like that every workout is different, so it's a nice surprise every time I join a class. The novelty of it keeps the workouts interesting for me - I'm never bored! ~ TRAINERS WITH GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL ~ Another thing I love about F45 is that the trainers explain the workouts really well. The demonstration of each move at the beginning of the class is a lil fast-paced, but during the workout, the trainers will go around the room to make sure that you're doing it correctly. I also like that they are able to offer modifications if needed. My husband has been nursing a shoulder injury and they're constantly checking up on him to offer adjustments. ~ STREET PARKING ONLY ~ You'll need to allocate extra time since there is only street parking available. There is also a parking lot about a block away, but they charge a fee.

I'd been eyeing this gym last year but wasn't motivated enough. I then severely injured my meniscus and as a queer disabled woman I felt concerned about my health trajectory. My progress has been phenomenal and so many things in my life have gotten easier. I'm slowly easing off the crutches and feel confident I can and will move forward but will also be able to handle inevitable life setbacks. Gina and her team treat you like a whole person - I needed a lot of accommodations due to multiple disabilities and problem issues like hypermobility, joint dislocations, migraines, nerve pain in my shoulders and hips, and more. We've worked through them all and I'm so grateful I made this choice and to Gina and Joe for their constant encouragement and what actually feels like love. I'll add this gym does rehab work like with me but other things too like elite athlete work, expectant mums, post partum folks, and some other specialities too. Highly highly recommend.

I have had a great time with all the instructors at Fulcrum. They hit the sweet spot between encouraging and over the top cheerleading. They all know their stuff and give good corrections. The workouts are varied in format, music, and focus so I didn't get bored. I had a serious injury and they modified exercises for me while I progressed back to full weight bearing and impact. The instructors I regularly look for are Jai, Freddy, Cheryl, and Dakayla. I loved Rodney but he moved. Space: The gym looks like a gym, not a health spa. I like this. It is clean and well maintained. There is an outdoor platform and a garage door which has been great for COVID necessary ventilation. COVID: They took it seriously [sanitation, masking, ventilation] and even let me know when I may have been exposed [pre-vaccine era]. Payment: I had a few hiccups with injuries and life changes and they were gracious about suspending my membership until I could return. Women: There are tons of badass women who work out here. Classes are dominated by women. Cons: I cannot really think of any. For first time boot camp/weight lifters, I would recommend doing their health assessment/intro interview. They will show you some moves there. Don't be intimidated by the acronyms or moves - everyone can do them and pros will give you good individual attention if you need it.

Now in my forties, I need to remain active. I went to a Yelp event and by default, I won free foundations classes and a one month membership. I had never done crossfit. Enter a little energized sparkplug by the name of Alex, and you have Mt Tabor CrossFit's reason for being. She is encouraging, positive and great at correcting your form. I have always been used to isolated workouts, so getting used to circuit training is a bit different but, so far I've adapted well. It is just me and one other in our class and we've caught on pretty quick. So far, so good and if you are up for trying something new, go see Alex. Enjoy.

It's high intensity, short duration that trains you to be a well-rounded athlete, hence the name Crossfit. Alex is a little fire-cracker of a coach and she's wonderful at explaining the movements, I love the support I get from Alex plus cheers from fellow classmate! The workouts can seem intimidating but it is modified to your fitness level ... If you are looking for a challenge and see what your limits are, this may be the place worth checking out, it is a very competitive environment but you are mostly competing against yourself.

The front desk staff is always really nice, and the trainers seem awesome overall. I can definitely recommend mine, Will. He's knowledgeable, astute, goal-focused, and encouraging. It also feels like a genuinely respectful space. I haven't seen anyone leering or acting like a jerk - quite the opposite. And people are good about reracking weights and wiping down equipment. Parking can be a little bit of a situation at times, and people sometimes seem to wait around for spots for some reason, but there's actually plenty of parking diagonally across the street in the garage. Street parking is also often free or just a couple of bucks, so it's very manageable once you know the options. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot. Great vibe, great trainers, and solid equipment. There's even a hot tub in the locker room. It's not a polished, spa-looking place, but honestly that's part of the charm. I'd much rather deadlift somewhere with personality than in a lifeless beige box.
