Finding the perfect gym, that motivates you and feels like home is rare. I've searched high and…read morelow; and I finally found it at Tapout Fitness. Tucked in a small Publix plaza, Tapout Fitness offers premiere martial-arts infused workouts with highly trained coaches and trainers. If the name Tapout sounds familiar, it's because Tapout Fitness is an extension of the Tapout clothing brand, that officially sponsors combat sport fighters in UFC and WWE. Personally, as a lover of MMA and UFC, I was immediately impressed. Unlike other kickboxing/boxing style gyms, Tapout Fitness is truly focused on teaching proper techniques of each fighting style. Each trainer has extensive martial arts experience and tailor makes workouts that professional fighters practice with all the time. Some workouts are fully focused on kickboxing combinations and techniques, while others also include resistance and interval training exercises with battle ropes and kettle bells. So regardless of your fitness level, you're still getting an amazing workout. On the days I feel like going solo and working at my own pace, I really enjoy the Tapout 20 circuit workouts. Although, they're promoted like a 20 minute workout, I usually triple it for an extra sweat factor. Tapout Fitness literally fulfills everything I ever wanted in a gym and I couldn't recommend it more! I love it here!

I just showed them the address and they kindly sent me to the correct location. Parking is available just in front of the building or you can also park on the street with no issues. Ali, the coach, was welcoming and explained how the class worked. They have different stations with a variety of exercises and you move throughout the space as the coach keeps track of the time. We used weights, ropes, TRX, sleds, and benches and we also got to run outside for a little bit. The workout was complete and fun. I would like to go back and try more classes!

One of my favorite fitness studios in the North Miami/Aventura area!…read more I originally learned of LivFit with Ali from ClassPass and saved it to my list of studios I HAD to try. Whether you have ClassPass or not, your first class is free. You can sign up for your free class through the MindBody app and it will automatically show the first class is free in the final steps of booking. LivFit is located off West Dixie Highway, just a few blocks from Biscayne. The studio is located in a warehouse district, and you can park immediately in front of the building (just look for the building number "2650").. there's a yoga place that shares the same parking lot with LivFit. When you enter the facilities, Ali immediately greets you and talks to you about the studio. The studio has been there around a year or so, and is really nice and very well assembled. There are open lockers (you can watch your stuff at all times), and a bathroom. Make sure you bring a towel and a water bottle. There is a cooler on the floor you can get water refills if needed. The day that I came to class, we had 6 or 7 stations, and Ali walked you through each movement at the start, started with a warm-up, and also came by to each of the class participants while we were working on our movements to check our form. I really felt at home the entire time I was there, and felt like I was a part of the family. Great job Ali, can't wait for my next class!

I have a knee injury that does limit certain things I can do but I do push myself to keep up in the…read moreclass. I tend to avoid classes and things that will aggravate my knee, but I was doing fine in this class. Today the instructor wanted to change things up and go for a run, I did not know it was going to be a longer run, I'm really not supposed to be running too much hence why I go to HIT classes. I tried my best to keep up with the pace Christian the instructor set but I ended up having to walk when my knee started hurting. No big deal right. Well before you know it I'm alone in a neighborhood I don't know and I have no phone. I have been assaulted in the past so I started getting really nervous and panicking. I made it back to class but by then I'm in tears. I just grab my things and leave. I get to elevator and Christian runs to elevator and asks if I'm ok and I said no I am not ok. He says "you can talk to me." I'm like ok I tried to run, I didn't know it was gonna be that much running and my knee stopped me cause it hurt, had I known it was that long I shouldn't have gone. Then I told him being left alone in a neighborhood I dont know without a phone was not cool. He got mad then said "you don't even pay a membership, you're a class pass member and you have been coming here and liking the classes and not paying membership, here we push and if you don't like it then don't come back!" He then just walks away. I was just in aww about his attitude about what had happened and just said "wow" in return. So if you have an injury that limits you, don't expect him to be accommodating, especially if you're a class pass member. If he saw the xray of my knee maybe he would understand but I shouldn't have to. It was expected that I would have a knee replacement by the time I was 40, I'm 39 and I actually used to have a handicap parking card, so I can say I have been pushing myself and doing great, but I guess not to his standards. On another note, he never approached me personally about signing up for a membership or that continuing class pass was a problem. I'm new to class pass and didn't know I'm supposed to switch to a membership if I keep using the same gym. But that really has nothing to do with what happened today.

They have dynamic pricing for their starts-every-10 minutes workouts with the super early peak 5am-7am slots being over 10 credits each (over $22). But their off peak workouts can go as low as 4 credits each ($8-9). Perhaps because it's new, the studio is sparkling and bright with two of its walls being completely glass windows. The equipment is a pleasure to use, since it hasn't been worn out. The foam pads for resting arms during plank exercises are plush, the sandbags haven't been broken in the middle and have intact sturdy handles, and the medicine balls don't have threads sticking out or about to open stitching. This makes it easy to focus on decoding the movements on the screen in each station and doing them 3 times each. Plus, like each Sweat440, they have towels available to use! My sweaty self thanks them. Each workout for the day has a focus on lower body, upper body, core and cardio or total body. 4 stations for 40 minutes in total with a minute between each station and starting every 10 minutes means you will be able to get the workout in, with no excuses. The movements are shown on a screen at each station, so you don't waste any time asking someone what the next movement is. It does mean you have to grasp the movement in 30 seconds and go when the buzzer goes off, but there is always a trainer going around on the floor if you need to ask for clarification. The only thing you have to think a little more about is how heavy a weight you want to use for the next movement. There will be 10, 25, 45 pound free barbell weights available for something like a goblet squat or squat press, and there will be a full rack of free weights to do something like chest presses, renegade rows or Romanian deadlifts. It's up to you to decide how heavy you want to go, but it's good to start light since you'll be doing it for two more rounds. What I like with this location is that I've always seen at least two trainers present, one at the check in desk and one on the floor cheering and correcting form. It means if you have an issue with your account or a question, you don't have to wait for the trainer to come off the floor to address it. I jammed and skinned a finger in the weight rack once and was able to get a trainer to give me a bandage for my bloody finger right away. The location is great in the heart of downtown Miami Lakes, where a lot of restaurants and shops have been coming up. If you're in the area, I definitely suggest you check this studio out and get your sweat in!
