This location is no exception, although the facilities and equipment have definitely seen better days. The staff seem to be trying their best to inject some life into the location. There is still a lot to appreciate here: a jacuzzi, dry sauna, women's steam room, pool, basketball court, and racquetball courts. Their current condition, however, is a different story. The group exercise classes are solid, with options for nearly every fitness level and type of workout. Most of the Group X classes at this location use MOSSA programming. They are challenging enough to provide a good workout, but still approachable and beginner-friendly. At the same time, a facility offering this range of amenities is probably costly to operate and maintain. This location, in particular, is overdue for meaningful investment and modernization. The membership has increasingly shifted toward an older demographic, perhaps because of the emphasis on wellness and recovery. Families appear to come mainly for the pool, while younger members gravitate toward the basketball court. The racquetball courts have seen better days and have now been converted into multifunctional spaces, which is a bit sad. Evening group classes that once drew large crowds now rarely exceed five participants, with one or two exceptions. The morning classes are killing it, in contrast. The range of fitness equipment is comprehensive. There is a machine for almost every type of functional training or exercise, but much of it is very dated. It is almost a chicken-and-egg question. Would renovating and investing in the facility attract a new group of members who could help sustain the business, or does the gym first need to attract those members to afford the renovation? That seems to be where this location stands at the moment. For me, things are still good enough that I continue to go, but they could certainly be better.

Classes are amazing. Instructors are knowledgeable and give lots of options during class.read more

The draws of this place are the owner, the workout, and the reasonable rates. Winner. The owner,…read moreSteve Reid, is not just an expert in boxing, which is the least expectation, but as a trainer, he is supportive and attentive and as a business owner, he is generous. He is not out to make money out of you right away or at least he doesn't make you feel that he primarily sees dollar signs on you*. He wants you to like the workout and make sure it is right for you. He is in this for the long haul. You can contract private boxing sessions-- which I have done a few times and intend to go back for more-- or get in on the group class boxing circuits published on the schedule. I tried the circuit class and it is no less challenging than any of the others I attend in other places, except there is no running (ha!). There's enough cardio to take its place. I only wish there were more group classes on the schedule that I can take advantage of. If you love to hit the bag and get a really good workout for a great value, you have to come in to this place. Support local business that deserve to be around. *I was turned off with another spot because the owners were the exact opposite.

The owner Steve is the real deal. He is a life coach to many, as well as a boxing/ fitness instructor. His classes are awesome. He goes above and beyond by helping me with a meal plan, giving me advice about shoes and workout equipment, and giving me homework for the days that I don't see him. I have never taken any of the classes here yet, but everyone who does seems to enjoy them. It is a small gym, so it feels like many people know eachother from taking classes together. The location is a bit challenging (I travel here from Providence), but it is worth the personal attention that you might not feel at some of the larger gyms. I totally recommend Jeff and the staff at Fitness Adventure to anyone looking to get motivation and personal attention toward becoming a fitness guru.

As a group class instructor, I long for workouts that push me like I push my own class participants. Fitness Adventure is it! Challenge, variety, and strong peers to emulate. I never know what to expect each circuit session. So far, I have not found myself making frequent excuses not to go to a class. While working out in a group setting is an extra push for me, the format of the class is such that I am able to focus on my personal best. The bonus? Heather, the owner and trainer! Very supportive.

I've been part of this amazing community since 2018, and it's been life-changing. The workouts are grueling (in the best way), pushing you just as hard as you need to grow. ‍ The trainers strike the perfect balance--supportive without being in your face, but always laser-focused on your safety and form. Not only have I transformed fitness-wise, but the relationships I've built here have been just as rewarding. I never thought I'd join a CrossFit "cult," but here I am--and I couldn't be happier about it! I have even competed in the CrossFit Open..... That was pretty exhilarating!!! They also have a sauna, cold plunge, and nutritional guidance available as well as private training sessions available.
