What a workout! My previous gym followed a HIIT format, but F45 definitely kicks it up a notch…read more Challenging, fun workouts with great music and encouraging coaches. I love that every workout is different and that the coaches are always super approachable and available with modifications or just to give me that extra push when I need it. I have really missed going to the gym throughout the pandemic, and getting back and starting a new routine at F45 has been such a positive experience for me. Convenient class times that fit my schedule, a spotless gym and even showers on site to freshen up after class. F45 checks all the boxes for me and I'm excited to see my results after joining in on my first 45 day challenge!

I think the gym is a sacred place-a place where you should feel safe. A place you should feel…read morecomfortable being yourself as you learn and a place to give your best effort without judgment. The staff at F45 have created this type of place. A place for you to get some me time and forget about the deadlines and the list of priorities. I tried the seven-day trial for $7 and I was impressed with the staff, workouts, facility, equipment, and the cleanliness of the entire place, which includes the bathrooms. Every member carried a wash cloth and disinfectant spray with them throughout the class. They have a back to school special right now where you pay $99 for your first month and then you pay $160 per month, which includes the cost of a heart rate monitor. The earliest session offered was at 7:30 AM on weekdays, 8:00 AM on Saturdays and I believe 9:30 AM on Sundays. They have an earlier session at 6:00 AM on Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Birmingham location on Cole Street, I believe. For my schedule, I really need a 5:00 AM class. The Coaches were professional, friendly, warm, knowledgeable, & supportive. They introduced themselves to me when I walked in and asked my name. They remembered my name too, which was great-"LET'S GO MITCH!" We chatted quite a bit over the seven days about the features and benefits of F45, the other locations & the possibility of starting to offer earlier classes. Also, THEY HAD A DJ SPINNING MUSIC DURING ONE OF MY CLASSES!!! He played a great mix of music. It was awesome. The workouts were challenging. They were HIIT (high intensity interval training) style workouts and every day had a different focus: strength, cardio, endurance, power, etc. Every set of each movement was designed for members to get as many reps as possible (AMRAP) in the allotted time of each set. You should definitely try F45 out for yourself! THE STRUCTURE & FORMAT OF CLASSES: The classes started with an introduction by one of the Coaches who introduced him/herself, the other Coach and they pointed out the newbie-me-and my brother in-law visiting from Florida. Then they discussed the focus, name and format of the class. One Coach described each movement while the other Coach demonstrated all movements that were going to be completed during class, then it was time for the warm-up. Once the warm-up was over, then we immediately started the workout at the station number that we were given. Every station had a different movement and the number of sets per movement differed every day. One day we did four sets of twelve different movements and the first set was forty seconds long with a fifteen-second break. Then a thirty-second set with a ten-second break, then a twenty-second set with a five-second break, then a twenty-second set and then there was thirty seconds to clean your equipment and move to the next station. There were three monitors on the wall that showed someone demonstrating the movements with designated numbers, which made it easy to stay focused and to know what to do next. One day had twenty-seven different movements, so each monitor had nine different movements. We did two sets of each movement that day, which made for a total of fifty-four sets.

The best gym EVER. Period. Trust me, you won't regret coming here…read more I came in with my friend for a boxing class. I stopped boxing about 5 years ago. My favorite trainer (ICE) switched locations and I didn't like the other trainers as much. Within 5 minutes of being here, I was speaking to the owner, and my day was made. ICE teaches here now!!! I was sooo happy!! He is literally the best and sweetest person ever. I took a class with one of the other trainers and it was very very challenging. I stayed to say hi to ICE after because he was teaching in half an hour. I didn't think he'd remember me and he did!! He got soooo happy to see me and gave me a huge hug! I even took a picture with him and he hugged me like 3 more times I love him!! He said that I'm always welcome in his class whenever I want. I took 30 min of his class and it was as amazing as I remembered it to be. His class is so fun and challenging. The gym is also really cool. It has portraits made out of boxing gloves and license plates. Such a cool vibe, I wouldn't even expect a gym like this to be in MI. Definitely check out this gym and take a class with ICE!!!! You can even tell him that Angela sent you!

Writing this review while exhausted from class, but breathing. Get Some Fitness is a group fitness…read moreand personal training spot. The group classes include bootcamp, The Grind (I'm scared to even try it from the name), and cardio kickboxing. Bootcamp classes are 1/2 kicking boxing and 1/2 Tabata style. The music during class will keep you hype & works well with punching a heavy bag. Classes are held as early as 6am and as late at 7:30pm. It's cool that they have classes 7 days a week. The owner is really nice, but don't let that fool you. Classes are intense, but you work at your pace. My pace, slow pace. He offers personal training sessions (in home or at the building). Classes are reasonably priced and will give you a real workout whether a newbie or athletic. Tip: It is right (less than .25 miles) past 13 Mile Rd. and you have to drive to the back of the building to get in. There are boxing gloves there to use, but you can buy a pair there (or a sporting goods store) for yourself if you don't want to share sweat.

Went to check out this unique gym for the first time with my husband today…read more Emily and Ryan greeted us warmly with a smile. Felt at home straight away. Ryan explained that we would be tracked with a heart monitor throughout our workout, had us fill out intake forms, then provided us further info on what the circuit interval training would be about for us today. How we would spend 3 minutes at each station, 2 workouts at stations 3-9 and the whole workout would be about 30 minutes with 30 second breaks between stations. The goals was to reach a maximum heart rate that is comfortable for each of us. I did well with the walking and jogging but once we hit the more intense leg workouts that kicked my butt this first time. Emily was my main trainer and Ryan worked mostly with my husband. This is very specialized training services and meal prep and plan. The trainers are skilled and all have great personalities and are truly there to help and maximize the members experience. It's nice that there's no scheduled training session and you can come and go as you please, but still know a trainer will be keeping you on task to meet your health and body goals. I pushed myself too hard with the leg exercises and thought I would be sick and collapse, took a break and Emily was patient with me and gave me breaks when needed. She gave me some alternate workouts to keep my heart rate up but not as intense for the last 2 workouts. Emily explained the importance of dynamic stretching at the beginning of the workout to warm up the muscles and body and then to do static stretches at the end of the workout. It was a really good, intense and fun exercise and nicer to have a trainer/cheer leader in your corner. We both signed up today. Monthly plan is $69.99, no risk since it's month to month and $70 for the heart monitor. Your heart monitor checks you in as it's attached to your name and account and they have monitors that show your heart rate during your circuit interval workout. You can also add an app and use the same monitor when you are not in the gym too. Now I have to workout more to get through the intense mountain climb and squat, squat jumps and lunge exercises.
