Arrived around 12:30 on a Thursday and we sat outside. Empty inside but filled up by the time we were done. Good mix of menu options from salad, pasta, pizza, main entrees including burgers. . We started with the Ruoto di Bufalo- a good mix of fried veggies, Arancini, fried cheese and dough. All delicious except the fried dough was a bit bland and that was the biggest portion. For main, Spaghetti alla Nerano with fried Zucchini and cheese was tasty and enjoyed. Based on recommendation, also ordered pizza fritta-a monstrous calzone that is fried and filled with tasty buffalo ricotta and pork cracklings-enough for two. A Naples dish and they did it right. We finished with a couple of Macchiatos which hit the spot. Service was attentive and friendly. They have been ranked top 50 artisanal pizzerias in the world for the last 5 years. Close to the port and definitely worth a visit.

The risotto was too Al dente the seafood, except for the shrimp and clams tasted old and rubbery. The shrimp and clams were excellent. I had a glass of Messina wine, Malvasia, which was delicious. A bit on the sweet side. Hubby had biere Messina which was excellent as well. The cannoli, which originated in Sicily, was delicious. The shell was a bit thick, but the filling was creamy deliciousness.

My wife and I were able to get in immediately with our three kids on the back patio area with a wonderful view of the sea. The staff and patrons of the restaurant were very kind and professional. They spoke decent English too which is never a requirement but always helpful. I had the Fettuccine with calamari, shrimp, and clams and it was AMAZING. We also had a couple pizzas to split for the family which were also very good (as you'd expect in Sicily)and a beer. The bill total was €66 which is really not too bad considering 1. It's Taormina and 2. It was enough food to feed two adults and three kids with leftovers. I will say plan better than we did for parking as I did have a ticket waiting for me upon our return to the Jeep I'll update with some pictures later as they're on my wife's phone Ciao! Arrivederci!

When visiting this tiny island town just north of Sicily, we wanted to have a local dining…read moreexperience, and we found it! This restaurant is on a residential street, but just one block away from the popular Corso Emmanuel Vittorrio II. But, you won't see tourists here. We found the restaurant online, with rave reviews for its pizza from locals. We went to try them at lunch, but to our disappointment learned that pizza is only served in the evenings (we found the same thing in other places, oddly enough). Alas, just based on reputation alone we would recommend this for Lipari's best pizza. Still, the staff assured us that with the many other items available on the menu, we would be very happy. And, they were so right. We started off with a freshly-made pasta dish, along with a rice salad. To the eyes, these two dishes looked plain and ordinary. But, to our palettes (our taste buds), we melted away in delight. Oh my gosh, how good it was. Great flavors. Fresh ingredients. And smiles on our faces. We then asked for them to make us some panini sandwiches, simply with ham (proscuitto Cotta), cheese and pomodero (tomato). The paninis came on a flat-type, fresh bread...and were among the best we have had. In the end, for lunch or for dinner, this is the place to check out. You will dine with locals, all of whom are friendly and welcoming. The decor is very simple, but nice.

Pizzas are definitely large in size. They have a lot of other non pizza items so there's something for everyone. I definitely recommend coming here, it's a modern vibe, everyone was very friendly, it's centrally located so walking is easiest. Or if you're driving, you'll just have to find a parking spot somewhere and then plan to walk. Service is not fast, but definitely wasn't slow either, and I'd say prices are on par with similar places in the US. I think 60 euro for 2 pizzas, 1 wine/1 coke, water, and dessert, and the cover charge/seating charge.
