Ok, I know this is saying a lot but this was the best pizza EVER. Looking at you Dave Portnoy- you need to try this place. We asked our hotel front desk folks to make a reservation for us and went straight to the restaurant. You may need a reservation on busy nights. It's off a side street so no crazy traffic or noise. Beautiful outdoor seating area. String lights setting everything aglow. Our waiter recommended the #44- burrata pizza. We really wanted cheese pizza but went with his recommendation and glad we did. Huge ball of fresh burrata on the pie. Total cost of pizza? $22'ish. Delicious sauce, not too sweet. Got a bottle of local wine and it went great with the meal. We will be back!

I read a nice review and had to try IL VICOLO. While I speak Italian , it did not matter. This place is a " party" attracting an international crowd . Now the food : excellent with an emphasis on Pizza . As expected, it was a winner ! Delivered with a nice crust and savory ingredients . Caution : the one size pizza will feed......Three people. After the pizza, I ordered the succulent rib-steak. It was superb with modest price. The staff was quite seasoned and all exuded a party mood. Allow plenty of time for your visit, as the people watching is equal to the " cibo." This is a Very popular place... even during the week. Expect a long wait if you arrive after 1800. But don't miss it !

GREAT food and amazing drinks definitely a must try!! Emiliano our bartender was the best, he had us try a few different types of liquor and he understood and spoke English very well which was a plus for us, overall great food/drinks, amazing service and location/ambiance was perfect. 10/10 will come back and recommend for anyone interested in trying

Fun atmosphere. Nice outside deck and the staff were friendly The pizza was great. I got the number 3, tomato arugula cheese. The dough was perfect and flavors all mixed so well. Big big pizzas too. Brought half home The service was slow at the end. The waiter got busy with something else and ran off. After a bit I got up and went in and paid myself. Might be a anomaly and if so, the score goes up next time!

Great spot to grab pizza, wine and dine on the patio. My favorite part about this experience is the patio and people watching. Our server knew Spanish, so ordering was a lot easier than expected. Get the pizza - any pizza.

Dirillo salad: lamb's lettuce, walnuts, pineapple, Grana Padano cheese, bresaola, radicchio, grilled eggplant, cherry tomatoes

The outdoor seating area surrounding Al Vicolo Pizza&Vino featured a red carpet and dazzling strings of Christmas lights overhead. This super popular pizzeria turns out gigantic, oversized pies and other dishes including charcuterie boards and salads. One of their most unique pizza selections was the Via Plebiscito, which came topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, peppers, oregano, and slices of horse meat (a delicacy of Catania!). We also added on porcini mushrooms and crushed pistachios to the pizza, which was large enough to feed a small army! The most interesting part of the pizza was the horse meat, whose taste and texture was almost indistinguishable from beef. Overall, however, the execution of this pizza could definitely have been better--the thin crust was overloaded with wet toppings and turned into a soupy mess. Next, we had the Dirillo salad, whose individual components were plated in separate ramekins and brought out on a single wooden board. The center of the board featured a bowl of lamb's lettuce, surrounded by ramekins of radicchio, grilled eggplant, cherry tomatoes, walnuts, pineapple slices, Grana Padano cheese, and slices of bresaola, an air-dried beef sausage. Along with the salad came olive oil and Balsamic vinegar for dressing, and a basket of chewy focaccia bread, baked from the same dough used for the pizzas. The ingredients of the salad were fresh and well-balanced, from the saltiness of the cheese and bresaola to the earthiness of the radicchio, eggplant, and walnuts, to the refreshing bite of the tomatoes and pineapple. While the pizza we had here could've been, this restaurant made for a great dining experience nonetheless in a super elegant outdoor setting.

Pizza is phenomenal and huge for price. Really nice team, great English. Outside deck starts to get full around 230 for lunch. So if you go early and it's empty, there's nothing wrong. Enjoy.

If you love pizza look no further. These guys serves typical Sicilian pizza. Staff is friendly. Restaurant looks amazing. P.S if you don't have the stomach of an elephant pizza can easily be shared by 2. It's as big as the table :)

Stop reading and just go. This is the best pizza place I have ever been to in my life. It beats Napoli and New York city. Outdoor seating is great and even if there are 20 people waiting they work fast to get you seated.

    Fillet of horse meat.

Il Sale sits in the middle of this street. First things first, VSF is a trendy but very good street for excellent dining and bar options. It is a vibe. You go inside Il Sale and you a find yourself in a modern, fun and inviting eatery Also the food is not traditional Sicilian, more inventive and fresh. I visited here to get a pizza and was very impressed with the quality of ingredients. Also ordered the generous and sweet orange, fennel and capers salad. I was in heaven having a Pizza Norma (not pasta but excellent in every way). I've never had pizza with caciocavallo cheese and this pizza was heavenly with it. Service was prompt if a bit friendly. Our server helped us with selecting the pizza, we ordered the salad. I wish I had more time for a second visit because I really enjoyed the pizza and salad here. And the cassata was super delicious. Loved Il Sale and will come back. End of Yelp

I can say with 100% certainty that this is the top three best pizzas I've ever had in my life. I ordered the picante with stuffed crust and when I took a bite, I just sat there chewing then smiling because it was so delicious. A total treat for the senses! I'm so happy we stopped here on a whim, I usually don't eat an entire pizza by myself but Il Sale Art Cafe brought out the pig in me because I could not let the pizza go to waste. Unfortunately slow service but I will disregard that for the pizza. I would come back to Catania just to eat here alone!
