She made me see myself as strong, powerful, resilient! & also soft, beautiful & my children's safest place!!!! If you're ever looking for a doula, birth photographer, or like me a special breastfeeding session she is amazing! It was comfortable, she brought some beautiful energy to my home & in seeing these reminded me how truly remarkable women are ANYWAYS, TAKE ALL THE PICTURES, I promise you will treasure them one day. This review has been sitting dormant in my Yelp account since 2023…read more From the testing by the owner, I was informed that my child had stealth dyslexia, which is why we signed up for summer slide in 2023. After a few weeks, my son presented with increased anxiety and crying. He became dysregulated where he was chewing gum due to anxiety. He cited the behavior with one specific instructor as dismissive and restrictive. He stated that she was capable of offering help to students. She just didn't offer him assistance in a way that was empowering. Her communication was not constructive. He repeatedly expressed his needs as a learner. He wanted to focus on improving his writing. After the owner removed contact with him and the teacher at my request, I learned that my son was threatened by another teacher that he would be sent back to the previous instructor if he didn't comply. Compliance was big in this environment, more than learning. He's a well behaved, polite kid so these methods were inappropriate so I withdrew him. I requested that we end the Summer Program immediately. We received a refund for the final week; however, the owner provided an unsolicited diagnosis data later that my child had ASD. Prior to starting camp, I shared documents from my son's psychologist and play therapist. An ADOS evaluation along with multiple other assessments were completed and unfounded by a licensed psychologist and therapist. All evaluations included visual impairment from a licensed developmental optometrist. His tutor also provided a 1:1 consult with the lead teacher. Learning Lab provided no instruction to focus on writing as requested. The owner went as far as to refer me to a parent who was opening a school for ASD students. We removed Learning Lab from our team. We followed up with vision therapy and addressing anxiety from this experience. In 2024, My son was tested by BCPS School Psychologist and Vision invernant. They reported a reading score at 7th grade level when he was 4th grade. There is no sign of dyslexia. We are now preparing for summer 2025. Last month, I reviewed his standardized test scores with the assistant principal at my son's school. He tested in the top 90th %-tile nationwide across all core courses. First time going to Learning Lab this summer (2025). I enrolled my 2 sons (4th grader and 6th…read moregrader) in their Smart Summer Program. Both my boys have ADHD, my oldest also has Dyslexia. I have been impressed with the program. First the owner starts with a student evaluation to determine their levels in reading and math. Then, she creates a custom learning plan to target the gaps and develop the child's skills in areas where they are behind. I was concerned my kids would fight me about going since they weren't interested in any school work during their summer break. To my surprise, they have been extremely cooperative and enjoy going. The program is 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for 6 weeks. They like all of the teachers and the 30 minute rotations keep them engaged. They are working on improving their reading fluency, comprehension and writing skills. Each week they work on an essay which is great since both my kids really struggle with writing and supporting sentences. They are also spending time on math as well. Overall, we are very happy with this program and I intend on enrolling my boys again next summer. This definitely helps to keep them on track and not suffer the summer slip as most kids do when they aren't working on educational material. I also plan to enroll them in one-on-one tutoring or homework lab at Learning Lab during the school year. I'm really happy I found this place. I've tried various tutors over the years, but I haven't gotten the structure and progress measuring as I have here at the Learning Lab.

Though Fort Lauderdale Community School GED ESOL Classes could use some sprucing up, it's a real asset to our community for what it offers. It's here that you'll find a lot of students, many from foreign countries, who are motivationally driven to learn English, get a GED and learn other skills they'll need to get good employment, become productive Americans, make something of themselves and enhance their living. Besides offer ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and GED (General Educational Development), often know as the High School Equivalency, Fort Lauderdale Community School has a good number of other skill courses to offer in computer sciences etc., but more importantly career counseling in order that its students are able to work out a programed of set goals for achievement. It also offers courses for people like me, English speaking but might like to learn Spanish as well. Though everything about Fort Lauderdale Community School's offerings are rather simplified and basic, that is exactly what it should be and what is needed. For us, living in such a diverse community with so many coming here who really want to become productive Americans or have a second chance in life, it is this school that offers them those chances and opportunities. For the community needs it fills, I can't help but be a fan of it. Four Stars.

I saw there was only one review of my school and unfortunately this review was giving false…read moreinformation insulting not only my school but my professors. I too am doing the RN program during covid currently, almost on my last semester to graduation. Simply put: if you need help at HCI, all you have to do is reach out. There is not a single person there that has ever treated me poorly, and they go above and beyond to see us students exceed including using their off time to meet with us either one on one for tutoring any time we request help, and also to do extra review sessions not during class hours. It insulted me to see that someone blamed their own academic performance on the college. What you put in, you get out. If you need help- ask for it. Just because the easier decision is to blame something besides yourself doesn't mean it's correct. Yes, some professors do have multiple jobs. Those with multiple jobs or children home in online learning as well still make time outside of class to answer us and help us whenever possible. Administration is extremely responsive and always willing to help as long as you come to them and ask. Covid has made things messy for everyone- but HCI is doing their best just like us to make it work as smoothly as possible. It is something unprecedented that no one has experienced therefore no one will be an expert on how to handle it, yet HCI college did their best and in my opinion has done an amazing job at helping all of us. Even during the confusion of clinical hours- instructors and admin were MORE than helpful and understand with issues with hours or not understanding the content requested to complete clinicals. Also as for accreditation- please do look into it because the claim was false. HCI is and has been accredited, and is in the process of being accredited by ACEN additionally. (nursing schools have two forms of accreditation, maybe this is why they were confused?) My opinion from personal experience of HCI- the main people who have a problem with HCI are people who prefer to blame anything but THEMSELVES before they have to take responsibility and put forth the effort to get off their behinds and get it taken care of- which is simply done by asking! Also if you don't like it here, then leave. No one likes bad company.

I will be honest, I recently graduated about 1 month ago. And since day one of the last semester,…read morethe mentality of the administration staff was to make us fail. I was top student number scoring only A+, and it is sad to see several of my fellow students fail due to this. They implemented several measures to flunk you in a way or another. For instance they want you to pass 5 exit exams including HESI, Kaplan, ATI. They tried implementing a 50% in subcategories, what does this mean. That even if you had a A+ in a class and A+ in the final exam, if you dont get all subcategories in your final exam above 50% you would fail. And most of the times this subcategories had what 2-3 questions so you missed one question you would be at 33% and would have to repeat the whole class and pay 5000 dollars again. Which makes no sense at all. Administration does not care about you, they dont give you information written they implement stuff with out written proof. There where so many incongruencies with the administration staff. Im not saying all of them are bad. There are amazing people working for them but the head of this school is simply terrible. I would definitively not recommend you assist this school. Please look somewhere else if you dont want to be stressed and with a limited chance of graduating. With the probability of paying thousands of dollars just so you fail one question or you fail you final exit exam and you have to repeat the whole semester again, which makes you loose money and time.
