I assumed that this selection of bikes would prompt an arrogance that you often see at many high end stores. But that wasn't my experience the other day. I was out for what turned out to be a 42 mile ride. But around the 18th mile I passed this store and stopped to check out the inlet a block away. Somehow during that little detour I ran over a nail and got an immediate flat. I realized that I was lucky to have a flat tire so close to a bike store considering I was out for a long ride without any repair tools or a pump. I was met with a positive attitude at Bike Science and they immediately took my bike in to fix the flat. 15 minutes later the bike was ready and they charged me what I thought was a reasonable amount.....not some highly inflated esoteric bike store price. So overall a great experience that definitely makes me want to go back to buy from this store in the future.

This is truly a great company to do business with! I have been using them to fix my family's bikes…read morefor a few years. I can say that I have only had good experiences with them. I ride my bicycle AT LEAST 8-10 miles every day. Suffice to say, with the roads and paths here, my bike can take a beating. Let me tell you why I wouldn't use any other company to service my bike.. From the time you call to make an appointment to the time they are finished repairing your bike, you are treated wonderfully. They come to you! How great is that?! No more loading your bike onto your car to get it repaired or maintained. No more leaving your bike for a day or more or waiting a long time in the shop for it to be repaired/maintained. This makes life so much easier. The times they have open for appointments is great. They really try to accommodate your schedule the best that they can. They carry a great selection of parts on board their truck. I asked for an item that I hadn't mentioned when I made my appointment. They had it..at a great price. Their prices are reasonable. They do a lot of work for the price charged when performing a tune up. They do not do any work without telling you the cost before doing it. They do not try to con you into doing any work you don't need, charge you extra for work that should already be covered under the original quote or sell you anything you don't need. I unfortunately had this experience with 2 of my local bike shops. Suffice to say that it was refreshing to experience this honesty. They came to my my place of business when I had a flat. A year later, they came to fix another flat I sustained in a mall parking lot. Both times they came as soon as they could. What other company does that? The best reason to use them... They are a company that cares. Bicycle Doctor is located in palm beach county. I am located in northwest broward. The mobile bike repair company that was supposed to service my area never picked up their phone or returned any messages that I left. Another place that I called said that they only service bikes with flats outside of their shop on a certain span of A1A. My local bike shops said that they do not offer bike pickup and repair at all. It was a really a hassle for me to get my bike, with a flat tire, to a shop. At the time I called Bicycle Doctor they were only servicing Palm beach county. I told them my story and they were kind enough to help me out. After that, I never used another company to service any of my family's bicycles again. Now that they serve my part of broward county, I want to tell everyone how great they are! Use them!!

They even walked me out and held the door for me. Nothing but a great experience and a big smile on my face. Great job Big Wheel! Thanks.

We were considering two locations for renting bikes to ride on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk: Sun &…read moreFun Cycles & The Bike Shack. Both are located near public parking garages, but you might be able to find 1 hour of street parking for $4-something or 2 hours of street parking for $9.45 (what we paid). If using one of the public parking garages, I think the rates are $10/hr or $50/day. We decided to go with Sun & Fun Cycles since both places seemed to be a toss up in terms of reviews. Also, The Bike Shack is closer to Hollywood Blvd, so our assumption was street parking would be more difficult to secure. We called before committing to a parking spot in order to confirm their location and the availability of the bike we wanted, and all of our questions were answered in a friendly and professional tone over the phone. The bike we chose for our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 10 and under) was the 4-wheel Surrey. We decided to rent it for (1) hour, which was $35. You can either pay with cash or Zelle (no fees) or do a credit card transaction with a fee. While renting the bike, you leave your ID at the bike shop. We ended up biking for about 45 minutes, riding north to Thomas St, then south to Georgia St, and finally north again to get back to Sun & Fun Cycles. During the ride, we tried having (2) adults and (1) kid on the bench and (1) kid on the bench-basket, and (2) adults on the bench with (2) kids on basket-bench. Each of these seating arrangements worked fine. However, both of the adults had very sore bottoms at the end from the uncomfortable bench seat. Other than that, this was a memorable and fun activity for all.
