They put deposits into your account totalling the money you have in there, then tell you you have 30 minutes to wire them their funds back as a show of good faith. I caught them pretty quickly but it still put my financial situation in a spin. My bank will deal with it but if Midwest title loan is for real they need to be aware!!! The person who answered the phone was pleasant, helpful and walked me through the process pretty fast. They gave me the amount of my loan over the phone, told me the interest rate and also what my payments would be... which I thought was pretty low. Now mind you I didn't need the loan for the amount of time they gave me to pay it but they did not charge me the interest past when I paid it off. I needed to send in some documents which I did and they allowed me to just take a pic of those with my cell phone and send it to them. In about an hour later they told me to come by this store and get my money. Now mind you I expected some dive, but what I saw was a really nice, clean and professional office. The people inside were so helpful. They offered me and my daughter some water when we arrived, walked me through the process of getting the loan and then in a matter of a few minutes I was on the way to the bank to cash the check they gave me which I had zero problems cashing. After that, they gave me online access to my account so I can see exactly what was happening with my payments. 2 people from this place randomly came to my condo building on a Sunday night, called me (which was…read moreover my intercom and I didn't know that in the moment), and in a very threatening manner claimed they needed to talk right now, and that they were "coming up". I DID NOT INVITE THEM UP TO MY CONDO. I told them I would come down to see what was going on, had to stop for a quick errand in my condo, and next thing I knew I heard very loud banging on my door. Unfortunately, someone must have let them into the building because again I did NOT invite them up. They were looking for someone else who used to live in my place, so I understood their confusion, however these people need to confirm someone's identity before they consider trespassing in someone's home. Incredibly foolish to act that way when you don't know someone, but at least they apologized. If that's you, I'd encourage you to use better judgment in the future and not use intimidation tactics when you don't have all your information.

Ok so let me start by saying this place is terrible. Even as far as predatory loan places go this…read moreone is bottom of the barrel. The hours are set a so inconveniently as a tactic to make it harder to pay on time. There is a sign on the door that asks you to place a check or money order under the door when closed but it is physically impossible to do so as the bottom of the door has a metal part across it. There is also a black mailbox inbetween there and an empty store front filled with junk. I stuck the check in there but who knows if they will get it because there is no label on the mailbox and like I said before the sign on the door says nothing about a mailbox. It's literally on copy paper, it would take a fraction of a second to print out a new one. But again the name of the game for them is to make sure you have the hardest time paying off your loan. I, myself, did not take out this loan. My boyfriend and I were talking about taking out a loan to help with some bills as medical issues played a factor with him losing time at work and recovering from a very serious surgery. I was thinking a bank or a credit union but he didn't realize how bad these predatory loans are! They prey on people suffering through financial struggles who can never get ahead. Luckily there are new guidelines that will soon be passing to shut places likE this down and/or stop this unethical practice. I understand putting a percent on money loaned but this was absolute highway robbery. We wound up having to pay waaaaaaaay more than what was agreed to. This man that runs this place is from park ridge and is well known for being deceptive. DO NOT TAKE A LOAN OUT FROM A TITLE LOAN COMPANY. Even with bad credit you will stilll have a better chance going to a ccredit union and you will pay back a lot less like 5% compared to what wound up being about 110% on top of the actual loan amount. My boyfriend was hospitalized after surgery and let them know what was going on. But instead of giving another week he just added more money to it. Then even though I had emailed tHe man asking for ways to pay for him online and never received a response, in the middle of the night one night we woke up to someone banging like a psycho on our door. I totally regret not calling the police and to be honest typically I would have come to the door with my weapon if someone was banging on my door in the middle of the night. They woke up all of our small children including our baby. They were terrified and it took two hours to calm my children down. (All is on a recording from our ring cameras... vocal and visual) they told us they were repossessing our car! They lied to my boyfriend and told him he only had to Pay the remaining balance and just grab the car tomorrow so unfortunately my bf gave them the keys. Well that was a lie because then added about $800. Now you may ask did they give any warning at all that they were coming to do that? Nope not at all and my had been in contact with this man consistently through email. They also never tried to actually call us. Yet after the fact I found out they had called my brother in laws ex wife because she had the same last name I've worked in skip tracing before and they need to brush up on their skills cause that made zero sense. So if you do get a loan because you think you're in financial trouble just know that this predatory loan will only dig your hole so mucH deeper.
