Avoid!! Dan Jr. tried to install a skylight with a…read moreheader that was 5" away from the frame, as a result the flashing kit would not fit without being hacked and cobbed in. My husband had to take a day off from work, insist they remove the skylight and install a header in the proper place. This allowed the tabs that secure the skylight to be placed in the appropriate places and then the flashing kit worked fine. During the man handling of the install, the brand new skylight was damaged. If hubby hadnt assisted with the install it would have been a definite cob job. Contract was to remove old shingles and replace with new. Due to delay with skylight install , Dan persisted in shingling over part of the old roof due to time constraints.

Their estimator looked the job over made some suggestions, and said I would be the first or second job that season and they would start in April weather permitting. I signed a contract and sent a check for half the agreed amount. Around the 20th of June I got one days notice that they would be at my house to do the job. About 7:00 AM the next day the same estimator showed up with a crew of about 10 Hispanic people only one of which spoke a little bit of English. About 1:00 PM the Estimator/foreman took off to visit family out of state leaving the crew to finish the job. Around 5:00 PM they started putting all their equipment away and I asked about the roof on the bay windows and the soffit repair that was part of the contract. Now no one understands English. I contacted the foreman and eventually was told another crew would come and finish. That crew came probably three times each time telling everything was done but it was not. Not only didn't they do the work they said they did but they slopped gutter coating all over the new roof shingles. This dragged out until December when Over the Top wanted to bill me for the roofing only and let the other work go. I told them no way. We have a contract and I want the work done as per the contract. Then I was told they would not be coming back any more. I had to find another contractor who came the following spring to fix the poor work that was done and finish the job. That cost me an amount equal to the second half of the original contract plus another $1,000. In the meantime there were three different leaks which I, a disabled veteran in my seventies, had to fix myself in the middle of December. Then repaint three different interior walls. I am also a retired contractor and believe me these are the last people you want working on your home.

"5 Star roofing" gets 0 stars Hired this guy: BILL in Nov…read more to put a metal roof on my house, they did a rushed and terrible job,they bid the job low so I hired them...BIG mistake.The ridge cap doesn't even cover the roof material and to cover their shoddy work they fastened the gable trim to nothing so it eventually blew off during the winter! Not sure what name their dba is now. Gee...wonder why? But the phone number is the same 315 420 3243 PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ROOFER now there are birds living in space btwn old and new roof and I have to buy about $300 in materials AGAIN to finnish the job! Lastly this roof was a simple job with no dormers or valleys.. These guys are HACKS!
