He spent nearly 15 minutes on the phone with me going over the details of our move, even knowing we wouldn't be able to book with him. I mentioned a quote I had received from another moving company and that I was worried it might be way off. He reassured me that the price sounded reasonable and then took the time to explain what I should look for when choosing a moving company, what I could expect to pay, and some things to watch out for. There was absolutely nothing in it for him, yet he was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to want to make sure we had a good moving experience, even if it wasn't with his company. That kind of customer service and honesty is rare and really stood out to me. Although I can't review the actual moving service since we weren't able to use them, based on my experience over the phone, I would absolutely recommend giving them a call. I only wish our dates had worked out!

They quickly figured out the best way to move a very large/heavy couch down to our main floor without any issues! We were very happy with the service provided and would highly recommend them for any job, big or small.

Two Men and a Truck Portland

Two Men and a Truck Portland

I was recooperating from a move from hell by a different moving company from Olympia WA. to…read morePortland which was the most traumatic experience I've ever encoutered in my lifetime of moving all over the world. My husband had just passed away and I was further traumatised by their horrible service, lack of professionalism, disorganiztion and carelessness with our possessions, then even more incensed when I saw how they packed our items like a stack of garbage. Hearing good things about Two Men and a Truck I called them when I needed to have things moved from storage into my apartment. Two Men and A Truck made the move from storage so stress free I almost burst out in tears. They not not only showed compassion and empathy but patience as well. They moved what items I chose for my apartment, and offered to come back, ( I will gladly rehired them), to redo the packing of storage so I could go down from 4 units to 2. My bill was extremely fair, and they put everything exactly where I asked them to at my apartment. This move was stress free, pleasant and a relief. A big shout out to Christopher Horn and Logan Parish from the Hillsboro/Beaverton hub. Thank you for making this Grandma one happy customer.

We hired Two Men and a Truck to move a very heavy sleeper sofa from our first-floor apartment to…read moreour third floor. We assumed a professional moving company would arrive with basic equipment (straps, harnesses, or moving aids) and the know-how to move large furniture. They did not. The three movers were kind and polite, and this review is not meant as a criticism of them personally. However, they were clearly unprepared for the job. No measurements were taken, no equipment was used, and they appeared unfamiliar with basic techniques like angling furniture through doorways. This was frustrating, especially since the couch had previously been delivered through the same doors without issue. When the crew struggled and stopped, they called their manager, Brandon. Based on what we were seeing, my husband honestly said it wasn't going to work with this crew. Despite the fact that nothing was moved, we were charged $190. After the movers left, my husband contacted Brandon to discuss the situation. Brandon was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. When my husband pointed out that no measurements had been taken, Brandon responded, "Well how are they going to know if it will fit until they try?" despite the fact that using a tape measure is a basic, professional step that was never attempted. Brandon refused any refund or partial credit. We are out nearly $200 because Two Men and a Truck sent an unprepared crew and then backed that up with poor customer service. If you are moving anything more complicated than boxes, think carefully before hiring this company. We strongly encourage the owners to consider additional customer service training for Brandon. His behavior showed no professionalism, accountability, or interest in finding a fair solution. If he is an owner, that is even more concerning.

U-Pack Moving

I had a great experience using U-pack containers (2) for a move from Portland, ME to Minneapolis,…read moreMN. Now, granted, I did not have much furniture, so I'm not sure how well furniture would have fared over those 1400 miles, but everything else (including bikes, office chairs, lamps, modular shelving units, even a non-boxed ceramic flower pot) made it in the exact condition it left in, so I was very impressed. I chose U-Pack after reading some bad reviews of PODS, comparing BBB ratings, getting a quote from a full service mover that was way too high for my budget, and after realizing that they were significantly less expensive than renting my own truck, with gas & everything else factored in plus hauling my car. Plus it relieved me of the burden of driving halfway across the country during a time of the year with very unpredictable weather (December) & having to deal with any truck issues (which, I've gathered anecdotally from friends are not that uncommon). Plus truck rental has fairly strict pick up & drop off times whereas, it turns out, U-Pack works with what's convenient for you. This method was so much more convenient than renting our own truck because the containers were delivered almost 2 weeks prior to my actual move date (per my request), so I was able to pack progressively and spend some extra time shifting things around to make sure they were in their most stable configuration. No extra charges for the extra time. I also liked that you use your own locks - that way you know nobody has access to your stuff during transit or storage. On arrival in Minneapolis, they asked me what would be a good day for delivery. I chose Friday & even though my stuff had arrived by Tuesday, they did not charge me anything extra for those few days of storage. That would NEVER happen w/ a full service mover (and the quote we got from one full service mover was 2x what it cost to move w/ u-pack!). Perhaps most importantly, there were no surprise charges or additional fees tacked on. They stuck to their initial quote to the dime & there was never any hassle about payment or pricing. One thing I recommend is getting some ratchet straps to help hold things down inside. There are small slats with slits along the walls that you can put the hooks into & then tighten the straps across the top of the boxes/items. Also, pack heavy to light bottom to top & fill the space laterally so that everything ends up sitting as even as possible across the top - this will keep things from shifting around during the forklifting & transport. All in all, I don't think it could have gone better - I am still kind of amazed.
