Eric came in an assessed the state of my home. This was a very thorough assessment with no pushy sales or unneeded recommended repairs. I hired Eric and team to make the recommended repairs. The work was done quickly and efficiently. I told Eric that I would hold my review until I knew whether or not the changes made a difference. Let me tell you, they did!!! My heating and cooling bills have both gone down drastically. I can tell that my A/C unit isn't working as hard to cool my home. However, other work that I wanted to be done I was told would be at additional charge after they were done. Be very careful to get everything in writing clearly and have them walk thru what work they will perform. I had an energy audit done at my old home with another company and never ran into any of the issues I did this time.

Brian's a great guy--knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and easy to work with. He clearly explained what was needed, what was optional, and why. He showed exactly where the insulation and air-sealing problems were, giving me complete confidence in his recommendations. There was no pressure to add unnecessary work, and everything stayed within budget. Work included removing old attic insulation, extensive air sealing, insulating the attic to R-60, sealing the attic hatch, adding insulation to vaulted ceilings, and spray-foaming problem areas and a cantilever. The team did an incredible job. I was especially impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up afterward. The only reason I dropped a star was because after the dust settled and we were able to access the attic we noted a few things that bothered us. Most of these issues could have been easily addressed if the installation crew had been more communicative with us throughout the process. Instead we had to deal with these issues afterwards which was rather frustrating and took several weeks to resolve and required us to call in other contractors. I would still recommend this company for all the things that they did well. But more and better communication from the work crew would have made this an overall five star experience.

During the inspection they also provided water flow management devices for our showers, replaced bulbs with LED, and installed a smart surge protector in our media room. The report they provided gave us recommendations for insulation, tuneup, and other installations to help improve our HVAC efficiency. The quote included prices and rebates available. We easily selected the options we wanted and scheduled the work. It was a fraction of the cost if we had engaged contractors without going through the energy audit. They managed the rebate process and we only had to pay the remaining balance. We had blown-in and spray foam insulation done in our attic. Once this was complete, Zero Draft retested and showed that the install increased our efficiency by over 20%. I can actually feel and see the difference. It's noticeably warmer inside. Our roof used to have frost on half and not on the other half because so much heat was rising up. After they installed our insulation the entire roof stays frosty and more f the heat stays in our living spaces. They even got into spaces I never thought were accessible!

I've never had exorbitant electric bills, but the top floor of my two story town-house was always…read moremuch hotter than the rest of the house. I even bought a thermometer to prove to myself that it was that hot and I wasn't crazy. Well, there was a 10 degree difference and it made sleeping difficult. So, I gave Efficient Home Llc (EH) a call and they came to my home for an energy audit. The audit was $350 and basically included a walk-through of the living spaces, attic, exterior and a 'fan test' to see how much air was seeping into the house. The rep. was really nice and seemed very knowledgeable. He made a few suggestions, but the biggest one was to get insulation added into the attic. Also, I have vaulted ceiling in the upstairs rooms and the rep. pointed out that they create a 'knee wall' in the attic and that special attention would be paid to that. Well, we signed some paper work to have the job done and their installers came out about 5 weeks later. The installation guys were very nice and let me closely investigate their work and made all the corrections I asked for. They installed special material for the knee wall and blasted in cellulose. They also sprayed everything with expanding foam. And I mean everything, a couple of times, they plugged some holes that I would have rather stayed open for easy access later if i need to service the wires that ran through them. Oh well. Success! My upstairs now is less than two degrees warmer than the rest of the house and even though it wasn't really my primary concern, my already modest electric bills have been about 25% less than last summer, but last summer was also hotter. Oh, and they even helped me to fill out my government rebate / utility paperwork. So, all in all, the people who came to my house I felt were very competent and paid close attention to detail and got me the results I wanted at a fair price. So, the -1 star is for the office people. They never called me about anything, I always had to call them. I had the work done some months ago, so I don't remember the details, but they never called me to tell me that everything was in place for an installation, and I called them two weeks later, and they were like "oh, we were going to call you... tomorrow... to schedule an appointment." Ya, right. At some point, I had to give them a final payment for the work, and I actually had to call them some time later and be like "Hello? Did you want to get paid?" So, I recall two times that I felt like my paperwork had fallen through the cracks and I had to call them to remind them I was a customer.
