Eynsford railway station was opened in 1862 on a new line connecting Swanley to Sevenoaks. Initially on a single track line, this was doubled a year later, and electrified in 1935.
The station has an attractive original building, built in a vernacular style on the village side (serving trains from London), and a small newly-refurbished wooden shelter on the opposite side, serving trains to London.
The building has a small ticket office in the main building, which is open Monday to Friday mornings. There are also self-service ticket machines, cycle racks and a small number of car park spaces.
There is level access on the village side of the station, for trains from London towards Sevenoaks. There is no level access to the London-bound platform, which is accessed only by a footbridge.
The station is served by a half hourly service, operated by Thames link, which runs from Blackfriars station to Sevenoaks daily. In peak weekday hours, this is extended northwards through to Welwyn Garden City. read more
