Dr Friedberg was able to see me immediately and do surgery in two days…read more Office staff is amazing too.

I had visited this doctor on referral from my opthomologist due to what he said was diabetic…read moreretinopathy based on the high tech scans. He told me that most likely Dr.Friedberg would laser it or inject medicine to help the burry vision in my right eye. Dr.Friedberg dismissed this diagnosis and said that I had a torn retina. He said I had two options. One was laser that would improve my vision but would not give me full range of vision. The second was surgery at Riverview that would be 95 percent improved. Obviously, I chose surgery. His scheduler set it up for two days later and told me I needed to rent a special chair for the weeks following because the bubble put in eye requires looking down for over a week. Surgery was unusual and he was nasty to the assisting nurses. I also sensed a problem when apparently they did not have enough probes on site. He used what they had and continued. After the surgery I told him that I was prepared with the chair and he said his technique did not require it. $250 to rent this based on his staff's instruction. After the two months healing period I had worse vision than before. He then said I needed injections once a month for four months and that should solve the issue. At that point he also said that he did see the swelling that I originally came to him. Insisted it had nothing to do with retinopathy. After the fourth injection showed no improvement he basically told me that there was nothing else that he could do and I should consider this eye as a "spare tire". What? Follow up with my ophthalmologist was not promising and after I told him what happened, he said we have to wait and see how the eye progresses but the cataract in the same eye may not be able to be fixed with surgery without risk due to the retina surgery which weakens the eye. I feel he botched the surgery and then dismissed me knowing that he screwed up. I would strongly not recommend this guy. As others have stated, his office is old with old equipment.

Excellent care. Office staff friendly and helpful. Doctor Edison and Dr. Bauza are very caring,…read morekind and extremely professional.

So the day Dr. Senft saw me for my regular eye appoint (Dec 2019), he saw that my left optic nerve…read morewas swollen and he immediately sent me to Dr. Edison the same afternoon. Dr. Edison and his staff were so understanding, professional and got right to the business of diagnosing what the problem was with my eye. I really don't want to go into details, because there were a lot of variables--mostly me, being just me!! but it eventually required a A spinal tap (not something I would want to repeat- ever) and seeing a neurologist. Dr. Edison is understanding and compassionate he made sure I was okay, because I was scared-- eyes problems are nothing to mess around with or take for granted, calmed my nerves by discussing results of tests and go over the new tests I would be having and to assure me that he and his staff were there for me. Basically he broke it down for me Barney style, cuz I am no Dr.... I cannot stress enough the difference in patient care, when you actually have a Dr that cares about you and listens. When your Dr cares about you, like Dr Edison does, I don't know about you, but I sit up- and all joking aside- I follow directions, I take the med's, I do the tests and I GO TO my follow up appointments. I like my eyes and I love looking at this world and Dr. Edison is making sure that my sight improves and I darn well better listen to him, he knows what he talking about. With that said, I have to thank Dr. Edison and his staff, for keeping me focused on my eye diagnoses and on the road to recovery. Thank you!
