Oh honey... buckle in, because this one deserves a slow clap and a bombastic side-eye. So my daughter decided to trust EyeMart Express in Grand Junction, bold choice, apparently. We did not know she was offering herself up as tribute. What followed? An absolute Insurance Hunger Games: Optical Edition. Let's start with the basics: she needed a simple list of benefits faxed directly from her insurance. Standard. Normal. Happens every day. Meanwhile, her husband waltzes into another EyeMart Express location like it's a VIP lounge, appointment, exam, glasses, DONE the same day. Efficiency? We love to see it... just not here, apparently. Now this location? Oh no, they said the doctor doesn't take her insurance. Fine. Annoying, but fine, out of pocket it is. But tell me why EVERYTHING ELSE also fell apart like a clearance rack sandal? Enter: the sales clerk. Suspicious. Unhelpful. Acting like my daughter was trying to commit identity fraud just to get a pair of frames. Claimed the insurance company had "no record of her." None. Zero. Vanished into the void. Meanwhile*plot twist*my daughter can literally pull up her info on the portal, and so can her husband. It's magggggicccc! So my daughter, being more patient than I would've been, asks, "Hey... what number are you calling?" Turns out... wrong number. WRONG. NUMBER. And instead of, I don't know, fixing it? Calling the correct one? Doing literally the bare minimum? Miss Thing says she'll just "keep trying." Keep trying WHAT, sunshine?? Dialing into the abyss?? Communicating with spirits?? At this point it's less customer service and more performance art. Angel baby... figure it out. Service: zero. Effort: negative. Vibes: aggressively unhelpful. I'm giving this location 1 star with a full-body sneer. Grand Junction, do better. Side note hats off to the FOCO location who graciously offered to help us out of the debacle. I have been going to Dr. Hicks for several years. I purchased a set of Oakley's with a two-year lens replacement warranty on them before she moved to Eyemart. The lenses that I got from her are scratched and I informed her that I needed a new pair of lenses, and Dr. Hicks says that her warranty is not gonna cover them anymore since she moved. I went in to get my eye exam at Eyemart where Dr. Hicks is now working. I got my eye exam and some new glasses with the lenses and the lenses were killing my eyes. So I went back in to let Dr. Hicks know that the prescription she gave me was not working for me. Dr. Hicks told me that it's Eyemart's problem, not hers and then drop me as a patient. I personally would not recommend Dr. Hicks to anybody in the Grand Valley. So in short do not go to Dr. Hicks or trust her medical abilities for eyeglasses. No wonder why her partners didn't want to work with her anymore at the old place!!! read more

The staff seemed very helpful when I went in but when I picked up my glasses after 3 weeks (I had to call them as they said they texted me, but they texted my home phone so I didn't get it) the prescription was wrong. Instead of my reading Rx, the entire glasses were for my distance. I believe anyone can make a mistake but she told me either I was wrong or the prescription from my opthamologist was wrong. It was her but she wouldn't admit it. Now I am waiting for them to credit my insurance so I can go elsewhere. They billed my insurance immediately, but not for the credit. I won't go there again because of this one person. read more

Well i use to highly recommend you guys after my experience today not again. Absoutly the worst customer service ever.I asked if my favorite lady still worked there the lady scoffed rolled her eyes and said shes no longer with this company. I did end up getting my daughters glasses there but didnt get mine. When we picked up her glasses the lady that helped us was diffrent from the one that belped us. She was a little more personable. We came to Eyemart hoping to get same day service and we didn't want to spend too much money as this prescription for my mom will be a short term one before cataract surgery. We were greeted immediately by Roland. He was pleasant and directed us to the best deal going....2 pair of glasses for under forty dollars! Roland was very helpful assisting my mom with her choices and helped her get good reading glasses for the second pair. We were offered the scratch resistant coating which we declined and there was absolutely no hard sell and no other add on costs. The glasses were ready to go within the hour. We started out the week before ordering glasses from a discount store. The price was higher, the service inadequate and they cancelled the order there. We are glad because we found Roland at Eyemart. I paid $400 for a pair of glasses which were progressive and also had transitional coating. Well, the transitional coating was never applied so I had to take them back (we are all too busy to make multiple trips to a place for something that should never have been missed). Then I discovered that one lens was completely inaccurate for my prescription and made me really dizzy. Would never waster my time or money here again. read more

The opticians were wonderful women and all very helpful, they helped me get all the right options and all within my budget. The were very friendly which made the difference for me on whether I return or not for my glasses in the future. I got a great deal on my frames and was all within the amount my insurance pays. Thanks to opticians. I may be back next year. The doctor was okay and his receptionist was not very nice or patient, when the receptionist asked me about my history she always snipped back at me before allowing me to answer the questions. Because of the way I was treated by the receptionist I may choose to have the rest of my family members exams somewhere else. The read more

I was so pleased with the professional experience I received the first year Eye Mart opened shop. Returning 2 years later I found this company's professionalism deteriated emensely. Their manager did not know the company no longer made the same lenses I had before. Therefore the wrong lenses were sent. My request for return of funds was denied. Walked away from my experience here really disappointed. First, the optometrist was a little too friendly. (Sir, do NOT put your arm around a customer as you greet them). The exam was awkward. Kyla was my optician. She was helpful at first, although a little rough around the edges (used a swear word). I had a '2 pair for $78' coupon and asked her VERY specific questions about which frames I could choose from and how the pricing worked. Then I selected both frames (which took me a while), She rang everything up and said my total was $126 ... ?! I said the coupon was $78. She explained the premium protection plan. I asked her to take it off. That made my total $181! 181?! She said she "couldn't explain the pricing, that's just how it computes". Really?! It was classic bait and switch. I'm sure many people don't want to spend even more time trying to get back to the deal they thought they were getting by selecting different frames, so they likely just pay $126. I did not want to reselect frames, but I did. Kyla from that point on was very curt and rude. Caught her rolling her eyes. Worst customer service ever. When I came back later to pick up my glasses, I wasn't even greeted with a hello. She saw me walk in and just said "here you go". If you MUST go here, ask point-blank questions up front, and steer clear of Kyla. She even mentioned previous unsatisfied customers throwing glasses at her. Not surprised! Both of my kids wear glasses. We have gone here twice now because there is a huge selection, they are fast, the staff is helpful and friendly, and they usually have some kind of discount running. The last time we went, my daughter (who is 13 and doesn't like anything) couldn't find any frames she liked. Robin was helping us and she found some cute frames that my daughter liked and is still wearing. Robin also went out of her way to help us with the frames my daughter already had, (which were a black matted pair that had begun to get some kind of residue on them) and was able to replace them and give my daughter advice on how to properly care for that type of porous frame. Robin also found a some cute frames for my son. She was helpful and nice. I would really recommend Eyemart exress to anyone! read more
