Very poor quality glasses and terrible customer service. My glasses broke twice in just a few months. When I took them in, they lost them, then told me they don't have replacement frames and don't know when they will arrive. what attracted me to Eyeglass World is they advertise "Same day" glasses and I hadn't replaced mine for 2 years so I scheduled an appointment and it was after work on a Wednesday at 5:30pm, I went there and was greeted by 2 very friendly girls at counter and signed in not knowing that they were a separate company doing my exam which cost me $50, I did the exam and was asked to sit in the waiting room well my granddaughter and I were looking at glasses to save time while waiting and we did find a pair and I was called to the little tables in the center of the store to a lady that was "Ok" nothing over the top from this lady for customer service, my granddaughter and I were conversing while she was inputting my information in her computer and then we got to my glasses! I asked her if they would be ready today and she replied "No" the lab closes at 5 and you have progressives so that takes time and I replied that's depressing I chose your company because it said "Same day glasses" there is no clause or exceptions on the advertisement and I paid $50 for the exam when other companies it's a free exam with your purchase of glasses and she said well we can't do all of them same day and I replied then you guys should say that, not lead me to believe I was walking out of here with new glasses she asked if I wanted to continue and I said well I paid the exam so I guess I might as well but I'm very let down about the advertisement she said it would be 10 days before I get my glasses this makes it even worse! I continued and left to pick up my glasses which was like 6 days later yea. Bad advertisement I have a photo of the huge sign in the front window that states nothing about any exceptions to getting "Same day glasses" this store is not informative to there customers era and very misleading, I will never return to this company again read more

Was there at 10:15 for my appointment. Left at 11 as it looked like it would be another 15 or 20 minutes before the dr would see me so I left. I bought new glasses here 10-11 months ago and the lenses are scratched beyond belief. Back in area now so I asked them why such bad lenses?. Plus the right arm screw broke and I had to Gorilla glue it. "You got the warranty so we'll get a free replacement." Kinda ok, but I expect my eyeglasses to last longer. Back home in Northern Michigan I'm lucky to have a Walmart. WALMARTS GLASSES LAST ME 3 YEARS AND STILL LOOK GOOD, NEW EYE EXAMS. I always use eyeglass cleaning spray and cloth. It started with making an appointment online, then calling to verify my appointment & my insurance was accepted for eye exam & glasses. I was told my insurance was accepted. Then I called back to ask if they were going to dilate my eyes & was told that was my option. I told the young man that yes then I wanted them dilated, as my eyes had not been checked in many years. At that time the young man asked me to be at least 15 minutes early for my appointment & told me the doctors appreciate it. I went 15 minutes early & had a friend drive me so I could have my eyes dilated. I waited 35 minutes past my appointment, having checked in early. I told the woman when she checked me in, since she never asked, that I wanted my eyes dilated. She gave me another form to fill out & sign. She then took me back to do the machine tests. I told her then how many years it had been since my last eye exam. All the problems I was having with seeing double, etc., & that I suspected I have cataracts. I told her the stage of my cataracts, if I had them, would be the deciding factor if I got glasses today, or waited till after surgery. She then told me I needed a medical exam & that my insurance wouldn't pay that to the tune of $181 & some change. I asked why & got the run around that I needed a medical exam. So I asked her, do you not check my vision in an exam, check for cataracts, check the back of the eyes & see inside the eye when you dilate. She said well yes. I said I don't know how stupid you think I am, but no I'm not paying $181 & some change out of pocket for exactly what an eye exam will give me. You will give me my eye prescription & I will decide whether to fill it AFTER I see the eye doctor. I then paid $29 for the picture of the back of my eyes to be taken. The doctor was kind, pleasant & when he was done examining me & doing vision tests, he told me I had cataracts, but they weren't ready & wrote my prescription. I asked him aren't you going to dilate my eyes? He said well if you requested it. I said I filled out the paper work. So he dilated & told me to go pick my frames & he'd call me back in a few minutes to look into the pupils. I go out, pick my frames & had been told by the rip off lady someone would be with me soon to fit me. Finally my friend walked up to one of the ladies just sitting there & asked if she could fit me. I sat down & quickly was told that they didn't accept my insurance for the glasses, only the exam. I saw four shades of red. Now I had to find another place, probably not nearly as close to get my glasses. Then I get home & the next day realize they had handed me someone else's medical visa back along with mine. I called them panicked for the lady who probably hadn't even realized yet that they didn't give it back. They could have cared less about the lady, even though it was their fault. Though I liked the doctor, I won't be back. First they try to stick it to me for $181, then I find out they weren't honest about their acceptance of my insurance for eye exam & glasses. Two trips, when I would have appreciated honesty & remembered them kindly for being honest. Almost glad now that it went this way after reading some of the reviews. Maybe after all, they did me a favor. But I am nervous to receive my glasses tomorrow & praying the prescription is right! read more

My son has gotten several pairs of glasses here. We have been very satisfied with selection, service, and prices. They always have a 2 for promotion. The glasses are usually ready while you wait. The staff is informed and helpful. They lost a star because they had to order the tinted lenses. But, no big deal. It only took a few days. read more

Ten minute late policy is what the lady at the front desk told me, and I was at the thirteen mark. Didn't check with the doctor or even ask me why I was late, just wanted to reschedule me. I told her no thank you and we will take our business elsewhere. She say said ok, thank you. We have been going there over ten years, but will never go back. Most businesses or doctor's office are welcoming or inviting to new patients. Not the case with this location and unprofessional staff. I had a scheduled appointment at 4:00pm, I was 3 minutes late walking through the door due to unforeseen traffic delay. Most doctor's office has a built-in late grace period which ranges from 5 to 10 minutes. However, Dr. Peggy Sterling does not allow any flexibility with any scheduled appointments. If you walk-in 1 minute late for any unforeseen event, you will not be seen. My advice is DO NOT schedule any visits with this Optometrist because obviously she thinks life is perfect without any circumstances which may delay you for her schedule. It's unfortunate that she's working under the business umbrella of Eyeglass World as an Independent Optometrist. read more

Made an appointment for 12:30pm. Arrived on time and waited 20 minutes only to have the optometrist tell me that he "had to go to lunch" and didn't have time to finish my exam. He suggested I come back in a couple of hours. If I told a client I had to stop our appointment to go eat lunch, I would get fired. If they insist on going to lunch at certain times, they should not book appointments so close to that time. I left and made an appointment elsewhere. read more

So where do you go to for your eye exam? SAMs club, Walmart or a specialist eye store! The store looks great. The staff look profession. My first visit to the store was impressive. I sat down with one of the staff and was filled with confidence. I booked a eye exam. I had my exam still feeling good. I had a price on my frames and my proscription and I was happy. I did not pick my frames as my wife was not with me. A day or two later my wife and I picked my new frames at a different store. When I first tried my new glasses on there was a problem straight away. The lenses where incorrect. I could see better with my old glasses. I went straight back to the store and had them check the lenses. Yes they where correct to the prescription. So my prescription was wrong. Great!! Had my new eye exam a few days later and there was only one figure that was the same. Great!! So now I had to go back to where I purchased my glasses and ask them to give me new lenses. They said they would do it for a price. So now I am out of pocket almost another $200 and after 3 weeks I still have no glasses. One final comment from a young lady in the store was "ho well this sort of thing happens" but it should not, should it!! Would I go back? What would you do? read more

Very disappointing. Arrived 10 minutes early and then waited an additional 40 minutes to be seen. Went for a contact lens fitting. At end of appointment doctor said I would have to reschedule for lens fitting. He was rude and very unprofessional. This store was terrible. They miss diagnosed my child. Sent me to a specialist because they were not equip to handle eye related issues. Charged my insurance so my specialist visit was not covered and sold me two pairs of glasses for her that give her migraines. I called to let them know they miss diagnosed me and they said they would make me new lenses. Too late. I already had to order them from the other doctor that properly diagnosed her. Would you like terrible customer service. A brand that does not stand behind their product. And doctors that just barely made it out of school. This is the place for you. read more

Horrible customer service. They just DON'T care at all. Nobody seems to have a clue as to what is going on with an order...etc. Ordered a pair of replacement sunglasses for my girlfriend on 4/4. (The originals were pur hased from this location less than a year ago, so I wrongly ASSUMED that thisnwould be an easy thing to do). I was told they would be ready on 4/6 or 4/7. 4/8 comes, and no call from the store. I call the store the evening of 4/8, and nobody has any clue as to the status of the order, etc... I am promised a call back from Pat first thing on 4/9. I never got a call. Call the store at 11:00 a.m... they still have no clue. I am promised that as soon as the person I spoke with last night is finished with the customer that he is working with, he would call me. No call. I finally call them back at 1:00 p.m., and, after another 5 minutes or so on hold, they tell me that they had to order the frames. REALLY? Is it that hard to pick up the phone a few days earlier and let me know this? Now, it's Thursday. We are leaving for vacation on Friday night. I can't wait for them to order them, and see if maybe they happen to come in tomorrow morning. No apologies, no "we can get them sent via FedEx or ups next day do that you have then in time..." Instead, now I have to waste my valuable time going back over there to get my refund, because they apparently can't do a credit card refund via phone. As a reault, my girlfriend now has to leave work early today, and go to Lenscrafters, and HOPE that they can make her a pair quickly. What gets me the most is the fact that nobody seems to care. The best part is, on my last phone call, when I inquired about the lack of the return calls, I am given the excuse "we are busy today". Do you think I really care how busy you are today? I already PAID for the glasses that I don't have in the promised time frame. So, you are too busy to help the people that have already paid for something that you have yet to deliver as promised? But you aren't too busy to help the other people that just walked into the store today? Talk about AWESOME customer service. NOT!! Bottom line? Stay away from this location. Everyone working in the front was visibly annoyed. Not a single person smile during the 3 times I visited this year. The first time I came in was for an exam to get contacts. The doctor actually showed me pictures of his watch and asked if I wanted to buy it during the exam. The exam was very short. When I came to pick up the lenses, I found he had given me ones too strong for my eyes and they caused dizziness. I asked for another exam and he corrected the prescription. After a couple hours I called them to order the contacts. A week passed and I was able to pick them up but it wasn't until I got home that I realized they gave me a six month supply of my previous incorrect prescription. Now I can't go elsewhere because they have my insurance benefits. read more

The service is exactly what you can expect from an optical store. I choose them because they offer same day service. It took them about an hour to make my glasses which was great. I knocked them a star because they are somewhat pricey. You can certainty go to wal-mart vision and find something cheaper. However the staff that i dealt with were really friendly and that made the trip worth while. read more

This place is great for friendly service and a wide selection of frames which run the gamut in terms of pricing. The staffer who helped me was very knowledgeable about progressive lenses, and I learned a lot from her as she explained how they work in comparison to single vision lenses. She made recommendations for me being a first-time buyer of these lenses, and that was important; I didn't feel rushed or pushed into purchasing something I didn't want or need. Once ordered, they came in quickly, and now I'm seeing much better! The only drawback is that they're not open on Sundays, so if you work a regular schedule, you can probably only make it in there on Saturdays. But I would recommend this place. read more

I visited twice, and someone offered to help me within 120 seconds. The service was intelligent and respectful. I never felt that anyone was promoting anything other than what was good for my vision. I ordered glasses and was surprised by the low price. I waited less than a week for the glasses to be delivered, and they were expertly fitted thanks to the exceptional assistance of a lady named Tommye. Her delicate attention to detail made the purchase of new glasses a pleasure. I'm glad I did not allow the negative posts to interfere with my decision to go to this store. First time here was a great experience. All staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Each staff member that I encountered was overly kind and tried to make a personal connection asking about my day, my job, etc. The first associate that assisted me went through my paperwork with me and helped me find the best deal. Decided to give them a try typically go to vision works yearly. Lady's at front desk were very nice and friendly. Took day off work for me and my daughter to have exams and get glass and contacts. They did not have a trial pair of contacts for me to try and I did not find any glasses I liked. My daughter got glass and I was told glasses would be there next day.Called for 3 days and kept saying tomorrow. Finally was told following week which is fine but don't keep saying tomorrow or have a sign same day glasses. Now daughter can not see with glasses called and was told come in doctors there Monday thru Thursday. Drove 35 minutes there got there 515 (because I already took day off work for first visit )to be told the doctor doesn't stay there that late. Mind you the doctor walked by during conversation and scheduling another appointment. Nothing but a hassle. It's now going to be almost a month since her original apt til she gets seen again to get the correct prescription. He was very friendly, personable, and MOST importantly -- patient. There is a rolling turn over in staff including eye doctors who tend to render sort on competency. Told it would take a week and it took 17 days to get my glasses which turned out to be incorrect since the doc didn't complete the script correctly. This is THE WORST place I have ever dealt with in ordering eyeglasses! First the optician broke my frame then when they gave me a new frame he scratched my lenses. They ordered new lenses and when those were put in, they scratched my lenses AGAIN! So now after the 3rd time of them ordering lenses, they ordered the WRONG lenses and they were also scratched as well. Some I told them to give me money back! THEY ARE HORRIBLE! I have been taking my kids to this particular Eyeglass World for approximately six years. The doctors have always been great. The experience that we had yesterday was phenomenal. Dr. Case was very kind with my kids, and took the time to answer all of their questions. He has a very nice way of dealing with the patients, and he really wanted to make sure that my girls understood their eye health, and procedures for continuing to keep their eyes healthy. Although it was quite busy in the showroom, all of the employees were kind and relaxed. They seemed to make all of the customers feel special, and really took the time to help everyone. Eyeglasses and contact lenses are easy to order, always, and ready when promised. We will continue to go back. Wouldn't think about going anywhere else! read more
