DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!…read more As a 30 year patient this group, something has changed. The new staff couldn't be bothered to tell my wife she was not due for her annual appointment, but scheduled her 3 months early. In 30 years, never once was that an issue. Be warned, a routine exam does not include a new prescription for glasses or contacts. In 30 years, when was that ever mentioned. Now they have us on the hook for over $200. It's not about the money, it's the principle. As the office manager put it, "We don't have time to check if someone is due for a visit when the call to schedule an appointment." Really?? It never seemed to be a problem in the past. This was a great place. Now, it's .

The sign on the door said opens at 9:00 but did not have a closing time, so I assumed they were open until 5:00. The open sign was lit, the door was unlocked and there was a man sitting at the counter inside. I went in and asked about replacing stereos in 2 different vehicles. He was really rude and talked to me like I was interrupting his day, although he was doing nothing. After I told him what I needed, he said "well we do close at 4:00". I apologized and said I was sorry I did not see that anywhere. He replied "Well what were you doing all day, to come in here now?" in a very rude voice. I WAS WORKING, jerk. He finally gave me an estimate for the screen replacement for the Jeep. I then specifically asked about how much for the part itself and the installation, and he just said "I don't know." I apologized for wasting his time and left. I will not be back. Evidently he did not want my business.

So when I brought in 3 video tapes to transfer to digital, I expected the same level of excellence. When I dropped the videos off and asked for a quote, I am absolutely certain the guy told me $20 each. No doubt in my mind whatsoever. But when I picked them up today, the bill was just over $100. This guy insisted that he never told me $20, that's the price for 5 or more videos. He said it's $25 each plus $20 for the flash drive. He absolutely did not tell me about the extra $20 for the flash drive, either. (And how would I know there was even a $20 option if I hadn't heard it from him in the first place?) In the end he dropped the $20 for the flash drive, but I was still stuck paying a lot more than the $60 I expected. He bragged about how this Is still cheaper than some other options. But it's more than I was quoted and I'm feeling ripped off. I have a lot more videos to transfer to digital, but Star Tech will not be the ones to do it. Or anything else I need. If you need videos transferred to digital, check out capture.com where they'll do SD for $20 each plus $15 for the flash drive. Or go to imemories.com for $14.99 each and no charge for the digital drive. Just don't take them to Star Tech. If you do, be sure to get a signed, written estimate.
