I told him I wanted progressive lenses, and he said okay that will be $381. I have insurance and the most progressive lenses can cost are $175 and there is even a free version of progressive lenses. He said they did not offer the free version or the standard version I had to have the premium version. I asked how much for just the progressive lenses, and he said $247. I left. Called my insurance and asked what was going on. They had to call Steve at Family Focus and talk to him and they told him you are under contract to offer all 3 levels of progressive lenses. Turns out he was offering me some bundle of products, none of which he discussed with me, just claimed I needed these products, didn't tell me what any of them were or show me pricing options. I have received multiple emails for appointments I didn't make. I have been waiting on trial contacts for over two weeks. I went to pick them a week and half ago ago when I received an email they were in. No one in the office knew anything about it. So, they said they would get them ordered. Well, I still don't have them and now will run out of my very high prescription contacts before my new ones will come in. I have called to speak to someone, but they never answer the phone. Glasses do not work for me. I will be unable to work or drive without my contacts.

Every time I went there to pick up my contacts they would change my prescription to whatever they had in the office . It may be a change in the brand, it may be a change in the actual prescription. I called four times finally got somebody and they have no idea where are the order is don't know how to track it , absolutely no answers again . I have asked several times for printout of my visits , and never given any . I have no idea what they've been charging my insurance . Very curious what's going on at this office . I will say that the doctor was very nice , and I believe to be working the best that he can for the conditions he's been put in . Staff was nice , the manager Nicole is a bit confrontational and definitely not helpful . I believe her to be the problem . She acts like she's going to help you but she does not . Our vision insurance provider had changed since our last visit and we moved locations, so there was additional paperwork and some back-and-forth with the insurance company. It could have been a headache, but our experience with Clarkson made it (almost) stress free. Throughout the process, I was very happy with the level of professionalism and customer service we saw from the Clarkson staff. They ensured we got our full insurance benefit, and they added some savings on top of it. They have a wide selection of frames for glasses, with some very reasonably priced frames and some much more expensive. In other words, a pair of frames for every taste/budget. The only downside to the experience was the number of times we had to visit Clarkson to get everything sorted out, but they were quick trips and paid off in the end.

I was over the moon ecstatic after my daughters appointment yesterday with Dr. Stacy Becvar! About…read morea year and a half ago, I had taken my daughter to a different eye doctor in town and they could not get her to see with corrective lenses. They referred us to specialists in St. Louis to have a multitude of tests ran. We were told that she was going to go blind due to a degenerative disease. Luckily this was a misdiagnosis; however, we still had no answers as to why they couldn't fit my daughter with some glasses. We were beyond frustrated! We switched to Becvar Optometry and one year later she has 20x20 vision with no corrective lenses! Dr. Stacy Becvar was quick to diagnose her stating that the muscles that help to focus her eyes weren't working properly and needed to be trained (in my layman's terms). She put her in some glasses that were to help her eye muscles learn to adjust. One year ago, she could barely make out the biggest row of letters on the eye chart. Yesterday at our appointment, it was pretty amazing to see her be able to read every single letter on the screen...even the smallest ones! We think Becvar Optometry is the best! Besides being crazy smart to figure all this out when no one else seemed to be able to help us; she's super nice, genuine and truly caring!

Then it hit 9:30 and nothing. They said they had to fix the clocks after the time change. (Which was on Sunday) As I was there on a Tuesday. I waited until 10:30 before I even got in to take the pre-test area. It was ridiculous and to top it all off the girls at the front did not check on me or let me know why it was taking so long. They sat in their chairs and gossiped! After I finally got in to see the Dr. (hour and half later) I then had to deal with getting someone to help me with the frames and check out! Which proceeded to take awhile because the girl couldn't even figure out my insurance! The only saving grace I had was a gentleman worker that came over and took over. So not a happy customer probably will go somewhere else with my next yearly exam.
