Then, when questioned, they are not knowledgeable about insurance & deceptively told me I was charged this and paid last year. They absolutely have no idea how to bill insurance & are making revenue on services that are covered by insurance at the expense of the patient. It is sad that this practice is associated with Green Eye Clinic which was a reputable, well respected clinic in Hattiesburg.

I'll start this review by saying that I visited this office several weeks ago. I didn't want to…read moreleave a review until I was able to visit another office for a second opinion, which I did today. So much about my appointment at eye examiners was strange, that I'll have to just give you the high points. After my exam was completed, the doctor discussed my prescription with his assistant in front of me, and changed his mind about it several times, saying things like "actually I think I'll try this". This was very confusing to me, as I know that a vision exam always yields a conclusive result. He then told me that my vision had spontaneously improved and my astigmatism had gone away. I did question him about this, because I was under the impression that vision did not simply "spontaneously improve" at my age unless there was a greater issue at play affecting the eyes (diabetes, cataracts, etc). The doctor replied that he "tries to decrease patients prescriptions whenever he can". The doctor also told me that I failed my field test (a test I've never had done before), which meant I had a one in ten chance of having an eye disease which he never named. I was then told they did not have my prescription of contacts in stock, so they would give me something better than what I already had at home until my new prescription came in. I put in that pair and went to the desk to pay. They then called me back to the sink and told me to take the right contact out because they had once again decided they wanted to "try something different with that eye". I knew immediately upon putting in those contacts that something was not right, but I did not question it, because I do not like to be difficult, and I wanted to believe the doctor knew what he was doing. So I waited hours hoping they would eventually become clearer. They never did. I could not see five feet in front of me in those contacts. It's a miracle I made it home. Today I saw a different eye doctor, who confirmed that my experience was strange, and my vision had not spontaneously improved, my astigmatism had not gone away, but actually worsened, and I showed no signs of having any eye health issues. This was so validating to hear. All that said, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone in my life. Go anywhere else and you'll be better off.

I spoke with the children and was waiting for my daughter to be seen. The receptionist was seeking a younger boy and attempting to show him how to insert contacts for the first time. He seemed to feel like she was rushing him or he was bothering her. He kept apologizing and she kept saying oh its OK. She wasn't unfriendly, but she was a bit preoccupied. For me coming from Chicago, she seemed ordinary. That's not a compliment. On the other hand the doctor was amazing. He was very personable. He made sure to continue with universal precautions and had a wonderful bedside manner. We will continue to come here since the doctor is amazing. The office was clean, quiet, well lit, and inviting. Other than the receptionist.. I would recommend.

She's so down to earth, caring, wants to make sure you are okay and will even provide a blanket if you're cold. On top of that I explained that my insurance only covers a max amount per year and wasn't in a place to cover any extra expenses so they made sure to work within my insurance to take care all the necessary procedures needed so I wouldn't be stuck with a huge bill. Love that I'm a person to them not a dollar sign.

Dr. Jennifer Hughes and our hygienist, Debbie were both very friendly and professional. A "comprehensive oral exam" was $73 not including x-rays. Because of several cavities (which were only apparent on the x-rays), I came back to get them filled and had no problems. I was a little skeptical because I couldn't see one or two of the cavities (even on the x-rays she showed me), but the cavities were very small. I guess I should leave that to the professionals! They said my husband had no cavities so I trusted them that mine were real. I thought it was a little odd that they didn't use a panoramic x-ray like my old dentist. I didn't see the machine there so I am not sure if they don't have one or if they just prefer other types of x-rays. Instead they used bitewing x-rays (which were fully covered by my insurance) and periapical x-rays (that were not fully covered by my insurance). I kind of wish they would've told me that before they started snapping away at some special problem teeth that me and my husband had. They were very good about showing me the x-rays on the monitors and explaining to me how they interpret them. Their office is very clean and bright and they layout of the exam rooms is very open.

We got it in got tested and the dr read results, next steps, and gave us information on this in case we forgot... Sooo Yeah All is well.. The only problem was their outdated testing method. One of her teachers thought it might be a vision problem and suggested Belle Vue. We took her for a diagnosis and sure enough, she had an issue with her vision that impacted learning. We noticed progress after the first (of 12) therapy sessions. Our 5 year old went from only being able to remember 2 letters of the alphabet to being able to remember all of them and spelling 5 and 6 letter words...in a matter of weeks! By the time she finished her course of treatment she went from being the worst of 18 students to being #2. This kind of therapy didn't exist when I was a kid and at first it kind of seemed like voodoo or something. But the therapy works, and the diagnosis made sense. On top of all that, the staff is incredibly caring and puts their heart and soul into their patients. We were genuinely sad when our daughter's therapy came to an end.
