When she started at 4 years old, I thought it might be too soon but she caught on pretty quickly. There was a lot in the reading books that she couldn't read and we helped but the phonics it taught set her up for success as she got more comfortable reading on her own. She's currently in kindergarten and is mastering the school work very easily. English language is hard and hard to describe the different sounds and why things are spelled a certain way. I honestly learned a lot from the reading books too. For math, I like that it's problem solving based and making them deduce code words to figure out what they're solving. The books have similar format through out the week but the content is different which keeps the kids from getting bored. Farah runs an excellent program here and we are really happy with our kids progress here. It's a great way to supplement school.

One of the parent text me afterwards saying the class was hysterical and there were kids crying. This is completely unacceptable and deeply disturbing behavior from someone entrusted with the care of children. Sunni clearly has anger issues and cannot regulate his temper. Multiple students have witnessed him yelling, banging on desks, and even throwing phones at the wall during class. His behavior is not only unprofessional , it it's frightening. He is unfit to be in any teaching or leadership role around children. I filed a police report to document the incident. The detective strongly urged me to press charges, warning that this individual is a danger to other children. As a parent, I knew he was right--but despite that, I made the difficult decision not to pursue charges out of consideration for his three young children, who attend the same school as mine (John Muir Elementary). It was not an easy choice, but I wanted to give him a chance to take responsibility without destroying his family. Since then, my children and all students others have withdrawn from the program. Please be cautious if you're considering Shareworld. No child should ever have to experience something like this

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest (this might be long)…read more I have attended Brighter Future since I was in fourth grade because I was struggling with math and English. I have to admit, I didn't like going there, and I was really happy when I could finally go home. It was fine at first before I was in the advanced math class. Now that I think back, my math was seriously bad before Brighter Future. I made some friends there who were nice. My mom also signed me up for the Taekwondo next door, and there was a donut store (it recently closed :(). The point is the location is great. Before covid, Brighter Future was overcrowded. The ratio of staff to students was about 1 to 7. We were forced to finish two packets a week, but I really didn't want to do it, so I always brought it home and lied about finishing it. The best part before was the break room where they played a movie and you could play on your devices. There were many older kids swearing though. Now, I'm not in Brighter Future anymore, but when I come back, they are very friendly and make me feel in a welcoming environment when I visit. The math was very useful, which resulted in me being at the highest math level during 7th grade and 8th, but I feel like the English one is useless. They also have this system where you could collect tickets and buy different items!!! I have to admit, as a kid, I hated this place before, but now that I look back, this place has really impacted my life in a good way.

I only wantedd this place to prepare him for test-taking. Instead these people have a way of saying your child is deficient in some areas and enrolling you and fleecing you. 1. When you go to enroll, the owner talks to to you for an hour (with lots of disruptions so really she spends less time with you but the elapsed time is long) to grind you down to sign a contract. Even though I told her several times I want to sign up for month-to-month but she talked about the discounts and how you can get more than 1 workbook in a week to speed up. I am sorry to say, I fell for her pressure salesman tactics and gave her a check for six hundred sixty for the 6 months. I don't remember signing any contract. I filled an application form and was not given a copy. BTW they won't give me more than 1 book a week so in no way have I got the benefit of 6 month contract. Other than 10 dollars a month discount. Now she won't let me cancel (although month-to-month folks have the ability to cancel). I even offered her to charge me the month to month rate. 2. The first week we go for the 'class' and she forces me to schedule an appointment for my son for 2 hrs every week. I thought this is included in the 660 I paid. Then she says it will be 350 per month. I said, no I am not interested. And she says it is not much only 70 per hours. Rubbish. As if 70/hr is not much. 3. I have no idea what the heck goes on in the class. I asked the lady at the reception to explain what happens during the 40 minutes class and she tells me - you drop your son, leave and come back!!! Thank you very much. I am asking what goes on when I leave him there. What is taught. What is done, etc. You see, they claim it is a class and I still have no idea how it is conducted. I asked to speak to the teacher and receptionist tells me she is busy. 4. On top of this I paid 30 to get my younger son tested for 30 bucks and she said she did it for free!! I told her I paid. I even have the check counterfoil. Bunch of lies. 5. When I say I want to cancel because I am busy, son is busy, son is stressed and gets headaches, owner tells me we need to see why he is getting headaches! I told her I will discuss that with my pediatrician. Just give me the money back and let me cancel. She keeps saying it is a contract. I did not sign a contract. 6. My understanding is this place maybe suited for people whose kids need help because they are lagging. This is definitely not a place to put an already advanced kid. Very disappointing. Stay away if you can. I want to run away from this place and cut my damages.

In fact, when he first started school, he had issue with Reading, Writing, he was even in Math intervention at his school for a while. After school, the teachers at Pinnacle worked with him (often one-on-one) and now he caught up with all the subjects at his school, and more importantly, he's showing a lot of interest to learn things with good inner confident. In addition to their included reading & writing, public speaking, mindful moments (kinda like Yoga) activities, etc, we also signed him up for Silicon Valley Chess club, RISU Critical Thinking, and RISU Math right at Pinnacle. My son was struggling with his school work in 8th grade: he was disorganized and confused, and had such a backload of assignments he didn't know where (or how) to start. I tried for months to get him on track myself, helping him with his homework, preparing for quizzes and tests. Nothing seemed to work. In a moment of desperation I asked around for recommendations and a number of neighbors suggested Lumen Learning Center. I talked to Louise and she put my mind at ease. She worked with both my son and his school, and came up with a plan of action. With infinite patience she (and Melissa and Gabe) guided and taught him, and slowly things began to turn around. After months of hard work my son finally graduated from Middle School, thanks to Lumen Learning Center. Louise took a boy who was unmotivated and full of self-doubt, and prepared him for academic life in High School. I cannot recommend their services enough.

I worked hard with him prior to 5th grade to get him competent in solving simple expressions with fractions. By the time school started, all this learning had somehow leaked out of his sneakers and disappeared, to my distress as well as his teacher's. Because of his math reluctance and poor retention, my son would have been starting 6th grade with a significant disadvantage. His mother and I wanted to help him catch up using a teaching service. We researched Kumon and found that, although cheaper, the focus is on all subjects and not exclusively math, and that the procedure is to have pupils do huge stacks of worksheets with relatively little teacher supervision. This would not have been a good match for my son. Leena's Mathnasium is exactly not like Kumon in that the student-teach ratio is about 1 to 1. She begins with a thorough evaluation of the student's existing math capability, she customizes a training plan for the student, and she executes the plan. At the end of the program there is a no-charge second evaluation, and what do you know? My son's math skills had significantly improved. Lastly, Leena did a pile of extra work researching math topics taught in my son's new school district, and tried hard to motivate him and prepare him for his new school Excellent work, Leena. I would recommend your service to a friend without hesitation.
