We came to the Huntington Learning Center in Lynbrook virtually over the summer, and now we're back for sessions in the center. From Day 1, I saw a positive change in my daughter. She was so excited to meet with her tutor on Zoom and after just a few sessions went from struggling to sound out words, to reading bedtime stories to me. The remote sessions were so interactive. I was worried she wouldn't be able to pay attention, but her tutor was amazing with her the whole 2 hours. Now she has a safe place to go for math and reading help - it's a lifesaver. She's on grade level (2nd grade) and we're keeping her here all year to keep making progress!

Although in the initial meeting I was told my child would be working with one person, each session…read moremy child had a different "tutor" so there wasn't any continuity or progress. When my child was assigned to a single tutor, the person was often late and someone would "start" the work with my child...which meant my child worked on a worksheet alone while someone near them said which page to work on. I requested another tutor to ensure we were getting the full time that we were paying for. Huntington Learning is very expensive. I paid thousands of dollars. The next person was okay however every session the parent of the previous student would ask the tutor how her son did with follow-up questions. The tutor would engage in a 10-15 minute conversation with that parent while we waited to begin our session. I spoke with the tutor and the manager to ask if the parent could conduct her check in during her session so it did not interfere with mine but nothing changed. I finally had to speak directly to the parent. I do not believe the experience was worth the very very expensive cost.

This was never stated in the contract, which is unbelievable?!! THEY WONT GIVE YOU A REFUND, cause "there's really nothing they could do about it". Did not tell us anything about when tutors get switched they can't see the hours at all. Billed 400 dollars extra, and was told that clients have to record the hours themselves? With all the amount of stress, making your OWN clients record their own hours is outrageous. Tutors should be able to view the hours and help track. Customer service was not helpful at all, stating that there is really nothing they could do about this problem. Tutors are not on time, always on their phones, and interrupt when clients are speaking. If this was really a good tutoring company, tutors should be more qualified and shouldn't be greedy about hard earned money because of something that the company NEVER mentioned!!!!!
