If ever I have an "emergency" they can squeeze me in within a day or two, although I might have to wait awhile once I get there. As for regular appointments the doctor is usually running a bit behind, I won't lie, but I like him so much I don't mind waiting. In fact I'm not the only one who likes him, my whole family does. My mom, dad, 3 brothers, 2 sister in laws, best friend, and I all go to Dr. Chudha. It's quite amusing actually because sometimes we bump into each other in the waiting room. He's very patient, thorough, can be funny, and makes you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend him.

Dear Dr. Mir and Dr. Zahir, Dr. Mir, thank you for the time yesterday to discuss x's Vitamin D levels, and a few front office concerns. I totally get that there is a demanding job to be done for so many patients, but I wanted to share my experiences shown in the attached of phone calls diverted to text and DAYS to respond where often I'd have to choose between calling again or texting again ... or just moving on with my life to figure my question out for myself, managing two littles, a household, work, teaching, volunteering, etc. I was so sick in September and am deeply grateful for Dr. Zahir's immediate diagnosis of pneumonia, but I had a follow-on concern regarding a prolonged roller-coaster fever that wouldn't break for several days. It was FRUSTRATING to call, get diverted to text then have the texts ignored for days. It was FRUSTRATING to not be able to have a simple question answered - should my daughter and I get our bloodwork taken first before having a follow-up regarding our Vitamin D levels? If yes, could someone submit bloodwork orders? Again, no one picked up the phone, my text was misunderstood, and it took far too much time for me to chase down an answer to this simple question. It was FRUSTRATING that our follow-up appointments were canceled. It was FRUSTRATING that it took so much time to find an alternate dates/times. It is FRUSTRATING to receive four texts in a week to confirm/check-in for any appointment. It was FRUSTRATING to pull my daughter out of class only to have the receptionist tell us not to come in because the appointment was scheduled as virtual. I had planned to be in person because I wanted to have her BP checked after she recently experienced super low BP from a serious flu. It was FRUSTRATING to have her later in our conversation say, "Well, you can come in if you'd like." Because the appointments were now pushed back to 3:15 and 3:30, I would have been late to pick up my son at his school just down the street from your office as I had originally planned. It was FRUSTRATING to receive a demand call ten minutes before our follow-up appointment on February 27, shaking me down for payment after the FIRST AND ONLY bill was emailed on February 11 that, if not paid, we could not keep the appointment with you. It was FRUSTRATING that she didn't explain upfront: x amount is for x service on x date for x person. She whizzed through the balance due without explaining these details until I finally said, "Hold on. Why haven't I received a bill until now for appointments in September and October?" to which the response was, "We emailed you a bill on February 11." It was FRUSTRATING that I have concerns about my own health but didn't have time (or demeanor) to have a focused conversation with you yesterday. Hopefully I'll find time soon to go through the process of calling, texting, waiting then needless back and forth to set an appointment. May I respectfully suggest going through patients' calls and texts, observe how patients are treated, and perhaps it will become apparent that simply picking up the phone to talk with patients, not forcing patients to text their concerns, clearly responding to them within a reasonable time frame, and, most of all, have a CARING attitude will make a significant difference. As healers, you and your husband know as Maya Angelou said, Patients "will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

I was able to get an appointment for a standard physical the very next day! I was delighted that they took me back ON TIME, moved through standard take-in procedures in a timely fashion, and I had a great visit with Dr. Zahir. However, I later received an unexpected separate office visit charge in addition to the preventive exam billing. My concern was not the care itself, but the lack of transparency regarding billing. During the wellness visit, the provider briefly reviewed outside lab results I had brought with me, and I was later billed for a separate office visit associated with that discussion. I was not informed during the appointment that this could result in an additional charge. After reviewing my visit documentation, I also felt portions of the note did not fully reflect my understanding of the visit, particularly regarding the extent of evaluation performed beyond the wellness exam. After raising concerns and providing supporting documentation, the office acknowledged overlap between the preventive visit and additional billing and indicated the matter would be reviewed. However, I did not receive a final follow-up or resolution regarding the coding review or reimbursement request. I would encourage the practice to improve communication around preventive visit billing and provide more consistent follow-up during billing disputes.

(I love the MyChart patient portal system but that's not the way to go for scheduling; you are better off calling the office directly.) The Fairfax building is gorgeous and a delight to visit. I also recommend the Ballston office. You can literally park on the curb outside the door and be in the office 30 seconds later. Ballston doesn't have the advantage of having a whole complex (lab, cafeteria, adorable gift shop, access to other docs) right there, but for a basic visit it's so convenient.

I've been extremely impressed with the care I've received from both the doctors and their staff. In their Herndon location, they even have onsite ability to conduct standard serum testing. This streamlining for me is coupled with the extremely generous amount of time that doctors spend during appointments. I feel that the concierge practice model has provided care far exceeding what my old local medical practice had become after losing a few key physicians through retirement. I'm not sure if they are accepting new patients, but if Lifetime Internal Medicine is, I highly advise trying this 'small' team concierge solution as a return to times when medicine was practiced by Doctors instead of Doctors applying a one-size-fits-all template strategy for the codified roll-out of big-med:-)

I've had severe allergies all my life, and Dr. Nsouli is the fourth one I've seen over the past twenty years. He's definitely been one of the top two, mostly because he realized that one reason why I have trouble staying awake (something I thought was completely irrelevant but he asked about it anyway) was because the allergy medication I was currently taking made me sleepy. No other doctor I've seen ever made this connection. When you have to get refills on your allergy serum, you always meet up with a nurse practitioner, not Dr. Nsouli himself. I imagine this is standard protocol, since the good Dr.'s time is valuable and you're not going because of a problem, you just need a refill on meds.

Financially I was able to pair his fee with a slightly higher deductible plan at work. The combination of the two was actually less than what I was paying working for a school system and I get significantly better care.

He is a very caring PCP, but I think where he lacks is experience. In all honesty, if you get a cold, or a cut, he is amazing. But if you get a bout of meningitis or another illness which is chronic in nature - i would stay away until his practice matures. I have total faith, it will. He's definitely not a 1 star doc and he is trying his best to be a 5 star. To me, Dr. Joffee is a 2 star only because I have seen better, thats all. In my opinion, to most he is probably a 3-4 stars.
