Staff is friendly enough, no major complaints there. They fill you up quick. The lot is tight, so if there are cars, you will have to wait... there is no realy going around... First visit, front wiper arm needed to be replaced. She said they normally replace the wiper blade. As they were only 3 months old, I declined. She asked 2 more times to replace the wiper blade making me feel pressured. Red flag 1 Car went in for service. The report they provided said air filter status unknown. There are 4 screws that hold the cover in place. The manager told me they only check the air filter if they are quick release fasteners. Basically, if they aren't sure if they can charge you for the filter they won't take the time to unscrew the cover. Red Flag 2. Took car in for oil change and tire rotation. They told me the rear wiper wasn't working. Odd as it was working the day before in the rain. Since I have an extended service warranty, I had them check to see if it was covered. It was only if the motor was bad. They told me that they would have to trouble shoot it and I would be responsible for the cost. Unless it turned out to be the motor. I asked if they checked the fuse. Service writer didn't even look at me nor acknowledged my question. Why should they see if it's the fuse when they play dumb and get paid for trouble shooting. Checked the rear wiper when they brought the car out and it was working just fine. During this same visit I was told the rear links are going bad. Insurance would pay but because the insurance would only pay a certain amount for the links, I would owe more than $100. I asked about aftermarket parts. She said they were more than the dealership. I found them online for what the insurance would pay for. After the prior red flags, I wonder if the links are in need of replacement. 3rd and final Red Flag. I canceled the appointment to have them replaced. Had the trans fluid changed along with the brake fluid not too long ago. Now I'm wondering if they did it? It's sad that Pro-Cat feels they need to do business in this manor. How did they stayed in business 35 years??

We should do Y first so your car is safe, and come back in a few weeks so we can do X. He is like this with everyone. Women also. Types of repairs I have seen are brakes, suspension components, lights, engine parts and sensors externally accessible, oil changes and electrical work. If you need to rebuild your engine or heavy diagnostics he may not be able help.

About 15 years ago when I was in high school, there was a gas attendant here named Ernie. Ernie was probably the nicest man I had ever met, at the time. I have since met so many kind people that I don't think I could call him the nicest person I had met ever, but he was possibly at that time. Everytime I would be here with my dad, Ernie would stick his head in the window and scare the crap out of me. It wasn't a bad scare though, it was playful- like a grown up peek-a-boo of sorts lol. He would stick his head through the open window and sometimes, if I wasn't paying attention, he would get so close to my face that when I turned my head we would crash skulls. Literally crash skulls. It kinda freaked me out when I could feel the stubble on his face scratch my cheek or my forehead when we crashed out skulls together but it was clearly an accident the few times it happened and he got too close he never meant to actually hurt me. Ernie was a hilarious prankster with a heart of gold and, presumably, the fastest hands in town. He would give me a pack of Nilla Wafers everytime I would show up but I don't think he ever paid for them. I am not trying to get Ernie in trouble because I think he genuinely stole the wafers out of kindness. He was always looking to be playful and kind to kids like me, my friends have similar fond memories of Ernie. One time, Ernie even asked me and my friend Eric to hangout- but my dad shot that down instantly. Looking back, probably a good idea lol. I'm not saying Ernie had bad intentions at all, but what good would it do to hang with a 40 something year old man when we were like 15? My dad was pretty pissed but we still went to Gastime often because it was the closest gas station to my house. Anyway, I drove past the construction of the new Wawa the other day and it made me realize that this place is officially toast, so I looked it up. I guess I am the only review on Yelp so I hope the legacy of Gastime lives on. If anyone actually reads this, I hope you think of Ernie and his kind soul everytime you eat a Nilla Wafer because I know I sure do. GASTIME FOREVER!

I brought my car in just to get a quote. I explained this when I arrived and asked if they could give me an estimate. They looked at the car for maybe five minutes and then quoted me $1,600 for the job. They also asked for an $800 deposit upfront. I thought that was a pretty large deposit, but since I planned on getting the work done there, I paid it and scheduled the repair for later in the week. The next day I heard some negative things about the shop and it made me uncomfortable moving forward. I called the owner, Mo, and asked if I could cancel the appointment and get my $800 deposit back. Right away he became defensive and told me I couldn't cancel and that the deposit was non-refundable. After going back and forth for a bit he hung up on me. When I called back, he said he would give me $600 back instead of the full $800 and that I would have to come to the shop to pick it up in cash. I went there in person to try to talk things through and ask why I couldn't get the full amount back, especially since no work had been done on my car. Instead of explaining, he started yelling and said that by canceling I was taking money out of his pocket. I stayed calm and just repeated that I was asking for my deposit back since no services were performed. He eventually told me to leave and continued saying they don't give refunds. So in the end, no work was done on my vehicle and they are still keeping my $800 deposit. The way this situation was handled felt extremely unprofessional and frustrating. At this point I may have to consider small claims court to try to recover my deposit. I'm sharing my experience so others can be aware before deciding to bring their vehicle here. After this happened I also went back and looked through the previous 5-star reviews on this page. Many of them seemed very generic and were all posted within about a two-week period, which made them seem questionable to me. I would encourage people to read through all the reviews carefully before choosing this shop.

Nick did an oil change (late), told me car needed front brakes & tires. I scheduled an appointment. When I get there he says he must order tires THAT DAY and could be AM or PM when he gets them. He knew I was coming, make & model of car, etc. but was not prepared to do the work. I leave car. No phone call about estimate/status. Next day I call in AM; he is huffy & bothered because he is only one there and does oil changes 8 - 10. I call again later, he says car will be ready PM, he will call me. He calls at CLOSING TIME to tell me car is ready. I get there, he says absolutely nothing, holds out credit card machine, hands me my keys. So for scheduled work I waited 2 full days without any communication from him. Felt that at end he was jerking me around because I had to keep calling him about my car and he didn't like that.
