Come noon the next day I had not received a phone call from A1-Auto informing me that the tires had arrived. I called the shop several times but no one picked up. I went down to the shop and arrived at 12:30 P.M. Dan stated to me in a very rude fashion: "I told you to be here at 12." I informed him that he did not tell me to be there at 12, but instead that he stated to me that he would call me when the tires arrived and that I should then come to the shop after I received his call. Dan then informed me that the closest appointment for rescheduling was 3 days away which was too long for me to wait. I then asked for a refund which I eventually received but still had to pay a $60 tire restocking fee which I shouldn't have had to pay because it was Dan's fault for not calling me to inform me that the tires had come in, which is what he said he would do when I initially paid for the tires. This place is a ripoff & they steal their customers' money. I instead took my business to Midas of Catonsville and received prompt, courteous & competent service.

Lots of times, auto are centers or lube places have very unprofessional personnel's greeting customers, you know? Anyhow, they sent someone to check the lights and said they'd give me an estimate. However, they fixed the issue while inspecting, so I really felt like I didn't have a choice but to pay. While waiting for the service, one of the guys behind the desk asked me "Where are you from?" I knew what he meant but said the city I currently live in, so he countered with "No, I mean where your parents are from." He said he knows someone who looks just like me. I believe that counts as a racist remark in these days of cultural sensitivity?

I've had some really awful experiences with mechanics since I moved to the area 18 months ago…read more I've tried Dobbin Auto Repair, an Exxon in Columbia, AAA in Laurel, and two dealerships -- all of which were the worst experiences I've ever had with mechanics. River Hill Sunoco got my car running better than it has in over a year, and I finally feel safe on the road again. They treated me with respect and patiently listened to the list of issues I was experiencing. They quickly diagnosed the issue, fully explained it to me, and completed the repair within a couple of hours. I can't say enough about how great my experience was!
