You know, it feels a little weird to write a review about a gas station. Yet, I feel compelled to…read morewrite about this one place. I don't live in Asheville, in fact I live very far away. I drive to Asheville a few times a year (anything to avoid flying with those stupid airlines), and since it's fairly close to where I stay, I will go there to gas up. Often when I've gone there, the attendant was outside cleaning the pumps or chatting up people. I don't know, it's just that there were some general good vibes. Is that weird? To me, it is a little bit weird in that almost all gas stations are places that skeeve me out. People watching is often entertaining and horrifying at the same time. Most attendants at these places obviously don't want to be there, and most of the time everything is dirty, even in the new places. So, yeah, it's a bit weird that I'm writing this. But, I wouldn't be writing it if it didn't affect me in someway shape or form. It has. It's not an earth shattering experience for most people, but it something I always notice when I'm there.

It is known, that Marbin stops for gas daily (some days multiple times). We typically use google…read moremaps to locate the perfect station to visit. The choice is made by a complex calculation that factors in detour length and gas price. The BP station was a quick detour from the highway and I felt like the price of gas was competitive, but still very high (not their fault). The gas station stop turned into a living nightmare as soon as I walked inside the general store to look for a beverage. I was walking around the store, parched, scavenging aisle after aisle, cooler after cooler, row after row for water with bubbles, and to my astonishment, they did not carry a single brand of sparkling water. I could not believe my eyes!! I felt as if I was walking through a desert, dying of thirst, when suddenly, I breathed a sigh of relief as my eyes located a transparent carbonated beverage. The moment of relief quickly evaporated, much like a mirage of an oasis turns back into burning sand in a cartoon. I quickly came to my senses and realized that, indeed, I experienced a Fata Morgana! As my hands reached for bottle after bottle, I was left horrified to find that each see-through beverage I reached for, was packed with artificial sweeteners such as aspartame! BP, only built me up to tear me down! In conclusion, if you need gas go here, but as a member of the bubble water community I cannot, in good conscience, recommend it. 3/5
