The brisket sandwiches are fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The bakery section is dangerous in the best way possible, filled with so many delicious goodies and sweet treats that it's hard to choose just one. The hot food section had so many tasty options available that I honestly couldn't decide what to get. Everything looked fresh, hot, and delicious. No matter what you're craving, they probably have it. The store itself was super clean, well organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. The staff kept everything moving smoothly, and the atmosphere was fun and energetic. If you've never been to Buc-ee's, you need to stop at least once. And once you do, you'll probably find yourself wanting to stop every time you see one on the road.

The potato chip things were not good. They were stale and soggy. We were able to get a couple of bottles of wine for the hotel room next door. They had the braver mascot in the store so the kids were able to take a photo either him and that was cool.

With cash, you buy a cash card - like a gift card; a mag card with money stored on it. With the cash card, you buy gas for even cheaper than a straight cash price. I assume this is some dodge around the laws / agreements around credit cards that prohibit them for charging less for cash than for credit/debit. Anyways, it's cheap gas, although you end up paying for it some with the rigamarole of standing in line to charge the card. However, saleswoman Crystal was lovely and gracious and funny and explained most of it to me, and now I'm a fan.

JR's Express while on my way to the Hobby Airport Rental Center…read more I rarely take the fuel option at National Rental Car being the cost to fuel is not a real bargain unless you bring the car back empty since the option requires buying a full tank. This station appears to be well maintained and more competitive that stations closer to Hobby. If there are any negatives in regards to fueling here while traveling to the airport it's the entrance which is on the opposite side of the boulevard and a U-turn is required to access it and exiting requires you to transverse a normally busy two lane road. I didn't interact with any of the employees here but it was a pretty busy place during my visit so it seems they have a loyal clientele...
