Anyway, for today Friday 7-25-2025, the surprising Cook County price leader for regular gas is Costco Oakbrook, and hooray for them! Here are the survey results fyi. Melrose Park was a very close second place in Cook County. DuPage County is cheaper than Lake County. The standings could probably change every day but I'm guessing not significantly but I may check again one day if curious and as usual not doing anything useful. Look at that WI vs IL spread, uugggh. The gas station is located on the southwest corner of 75th St (east-west) and Janes Ave…read more (north-south). There is no access from westbound 75th Street ~ make a left (south) at the light. Also, northbound you have to turn in at the strip mall (near Dunkin Donuts) or it will require quite a bit of maneuvering to get in. That being said, it is small but a great location for me to quickly stop in to get gas. The very first time I purchased gas here, there was a problem with the pump and I went inside for assistance only to be told the employee had no idea how to "reset" the pump. I had to move to a different pump. Since then, I have not had any issues. Prices are competitive.

For convenience, this place is great and the prices are usually 5 or so cents less than the closer-to-the-highway locations. But you can basically only come here if you have a compact car because the lanes are sooo tight. I've never been to a gas station with so little room for your car. It might as well be for bikes only. It's an accident waiting to happen, that's all I'm saying.

It's clean, spacious, well-lit at night, and the card readers work perfectly. They always have good prices on gas and their pumps are faster than other places. The convenience mart is bursting with a selection of salty snacks (lots of spicy stuff), roller grill items like hot dogs and taquitos, a fully stocked condiment area, and a wraparound cooler packed with 99¢ cans of Arizona tea, Powerade, pop, energy drinks and more. I downloaded the Thorntons fuel rewards app, which saves me 5¢ on every gallon. They'll toss in a deal every week, like BOGO roller grill items, or $1 off a large bag of chips. The self-checkout registers speed up the gas-and-go process, plus staff have a great attitude and like to chat with customers. * TL;DR * Oooohhhhh and I burn, Fuel is pumping engines, Quench my thirst with gas-oliiiiiiiiine! This is an excellent Thorntons. I'd recommend that anyone traveling along I-55 pull off at the exit for Weber Rd to stop here for fuel and refreshments. I went into the store to let them know and the clerk told me " we don't have auto shut off, these are really old pumps" I know this to be an untrue because until today my husband and I always got our gas there. I don't blame the clerk, although he was not only unsympathetic and unhelpful, he is certainly not responsible for the maintenance of the pumps. My concern lies in the aftermath of the spill. I drove by again shortly after the incident to see if the gas had been cleaned up, it had not. I also wanted to see if the pump had been turned off or if it had been marked as defective, again, it had not. I can't imagine how this would have been handled had this been an actual emergency. The 5 cents I saved will not make up for the money I needlessly spent, the car mats and shoes that will need to be replaced, or most importantly the trust I had in this company.
