Despite only eating at this establishment twice, I very much enjoy this restaurant. As a picky…read moreeater, I always keep it simple with chicken and fries. Let me say, the chicken they serve is top notch, crispy, good portions and perfectly delectable. May I also say the fries are delicous, you can tell they are made in house and are very crispy and I appreciate the size of each individual fry. You get 5 chicken fingers with a full plate of fries underneath and the last time I went I was so hungry I ate it all. Ughghgg literally craving it as I speak. Also it's a very affordable place if your also looking for a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend

So the visit to State and Main last week was very hit and miss…read more Starting with the hits. We ordered the Friday night cocktails ($2 off) and here we have the New York Sour and Mexican Bulldog The New York Sour was absolutely AMAZING It's made with whiskey , egg white , sour mix and red wine . Seems like an odd combo but honestly it had the perfect tart and wine taste. I was with three other guys and they all loved this drink and would recommend it to everyone! That's how good it is For the Mexican Bulldog, I personally only thought it was only OK but Mr C liked it. It's definitely picture worthy tho! The glass was biiiig with a mini corona in it! Now for the miss. The French Dip. I loooveeee beef dip at most places so I was hoping I'd love it here too but unfortunately...no. This is made with shaved Angus beef, mushrooms, onions (which I opted out), horseradish mayo & Swiss cheese with au jus. As I was eating it, I actually forgot there's mushroom in it cause I couldn't taste it at all (not sure if this is a good or bad thing?) and the au jus was just way too watered down and seemed more like a broth than the usual au jus (a thicker liquid). I did finish it all but I wasn't very satisfied with it. The side poutine, on the other hand, was actually very delish! Lotsa flavour and every without the cheese and gravy, the fries itself was enough to make the entire meal better. it did spark a discussion with our group tho - should restaurants bring ketchup with fries or should customers have to ask each time? Lemme know in the comments below! Another miss would be our server. It was Friday night so it was busier but we still expected them to put in a bit more friendly customer service. Our friend ordered his drink and wanted to order food as well but before he could, the server walked away right after the drink order. Throughout the night, we had to constantly wait for a long time to be able to make another drink order. This was probably the most disappointing part of our dinner experience. We'll still return but hopefully it'll be a better service experience.

I asked for the leanest and rarest piece they had, and it was perfect. Their horseradish is a great accompaniment, as was the twice baked potato. My husband had the burger and fries, and said both were outstanding. We started with the crab cakes, which were perfectly cooked and very tasty as well (no pics as we were starving and dug in before I remembered). Unfortunately, we were too full for desert, but they also looked delicious. Our server, Davis, was professional and helpful, the meal courses were perfectly timed, and though the restaurant was very busy, it was not so loud that we couldn't easily have a conversation. Will definitely will be going back.

I got the War Pig ($15.5), my boyfriend got the Double Rink Burger ($12) with 2 slices American Cheese ($3) and Back Bacon ($2), a fountain pop ($2.75) and we shared Garlic Fries ($9) with 2 Mayo Dill ($2.5) sauces for dipping. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger, he would return here again. A man of simple words The burgers are messy, so be prepared to use a bunch of napkins ! He was also very pleased about free drink refills. Our fries were delicious and had an extremely strong garlic taste. I think the fresh minced garlic was sautéd in oil and parsley, giving it such a strong and natural taste. Loved it. Especially because they made house cut fries! While the Mayo Dill was good, I only recommend getting the mayo dill if you get plain fries. My War Pig was phenomenal. It was a double stack of smashed beef using fresh chuck/brisket of a 80/20 % blend and I could taste it was good quality beef. This burger consists of side bacon, back bacon, bourbon bacon jam, LOADED with crispy fried onions, and topped with lettuce, tomato and mustard. Easily one of the best Smash Burgers in Saskatchewan. Wouldn't change a thing. They deliver on their promise of big flavors and generous portions, so you definitely won't leave hungry. All of the ingredients are high quality, fresh, and locally sourced. The lady who took our order was very friendly and provided excellent service. On top of that, the pricing was reasonable considering the portion sizes and overall quality. On an unrelated note, I wholeheartedly loved to watch Jurassic park while we had our dinner!!! I highly recommend this spot and everything we ordered. My only regret was that I didn't have room for a milkshake !

I know the website says not to change the making of anything but, I can't have mustard. We ask to have the mustard on the side. We were told NO. I said "I can't have mustard. Can you please just leave it off?" I was told NO again. So, my husband and I looked over the menu to find something without mustard. We finally found 2 items. Then when they say spicy...they mean HOT. The spicy ketchup on the meatloaf is very hot and The smoked chipotle dip is very hot. I couldn't eat either of them and my husband, who has no problem with hot wings and fire sauce, could not eat them either. To sum up, we did not enjoy our visit. How hard is it to leave mustard off of a sandwich. I wish them luck...but it's definitely not for us.
