I saw one of the assistants change a diaper and then immediately go back to preparing snacks without washing her hands. Unprofessional Management. When I tried to speak to the director about these safety concerns, she was incredibly defensive and rude. She told me I was "overreacting" and that "kids get messy." It was right as were were beginning that one of our employees - yelled across the way to us loudly that we needed to get moving because we were late getting to our first round. We quickly moved ahead and proceeded to chat, laugh, have a good time and enjoy enjoy each other's company. One of the women in our group was trying to explain to us what club to use and stuff like that. We decided that we were going to stop at about 4 turns each at max because we didn't want to get caught up etc- and that we would let others play around if we needed. Well little did we know y'all were actually timing us !! As the young gentleman who so condescendingly told us we spent 23 mins on the hole - and the time should have been 15 mins. I am curious as to the time for the group ahead of us? Do you time everyone( how do you determine who to time )? Nate and I met with some friends at this zoo recently and got to take advantage of our reciprocal John Ball Zoo membership to get in free. Parking is $7 per car for non-residents. The zoo is larger than I expected, with plenty of very active animals despite the heat. My favorite animals were the Pallas's cat, the black rhino, and the binturong. We walked around for a couple of hours and enjoyed the plentiful shade, and relatively flat paths (way fewer hills than our zoo). It was fun seeing some animals that I'd never seen before! This zoo is open year-round, which is really nice. If I lived in the area I'd probably get a membership. As a visitor, I don't think I'd need to go back again soon, but I'm glad we got to check it out.

They maintain over 300 animals with popular exhibits like penguins, lions, and giant anteaters. They provide wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons for rent, plus a quiet room and sensory-friendly bags. This zoo is one of Michigan's oldest continuously operated zoos, with a history dating back over 100 years. My husband and I found it very enjoyable.
