I've been coming here for dentistry needs for a few years now... The office was new, so everything is still pretty clean. I originally started seeing Dr. Wang, but now I've been seeing a different dentist. It all seemed to change around when Dr. Wang's husband became a state assemblyman... So perhaps his political career has kept Dr. Wang busier with other things. But even with the change in dentists, the service here is still great. My old dentist used to book 2-3 patients at a time, and I would often be sitting in the chair for 45-60 minutes for a regular check-up/cleaning). In the 6-8 times that I've been here, I've only waited beyond my appointment time once. And I waited in the waiting area (not in the dentist chair). Once I do get into a chair, my actual check-up and cleaning appointments only last about 20 minutes. They are quick, because they usually only have one patient at a time. You get to have your own personal dentist on hand who is only focusing on your mouth and not juggling patients. read more

This place is so amazing from the friendly receptionist, the really sweet dental assistant and the amazing Dentist, Dr. Wang. You have to come here to experience it yourself! I've had this huge dread and fear when it comes to dentists appointments due to horrible past experiences, until I found this place! I did my research I read the reviews. I came and the place was so neat and clean. I filled out the paperwork and was immediately taken in. They explained every step of the process as far as what to anticipate and what will be done next. From Xrays to time frames to costs and payments. Dr. Wang is so light in her hands that the dreadful numbing shots did not hurt at ALL. I was so shocked after having not one but 4 multiple successful pleasant experiences with my dentist appointments with them which included fillings and crown repair that I actually looked forward to my appointments with them. I'm very disappointed with this dental clinic. I dislike the receptionist and the dentist. My experience: ***Receptionist: as a new patient coming in to their clinic and if they wanted my business the receptionist should've told me that there is ONLY ONE DENTIST AND ONE DENTAL ASSISTANT...so if you want to make appointment for you and your loved ones on the same day...you have to wait like couple of hrs in between. She didn't mention none of that!...So AS PER THE RECEPTIONIST I made appt for my husband and me on the same day half hr spread apart like she mentioned over the phone (and me giving her the benefit of the doubt) and thinking she knows more abt their scheduling cos that's what she is hired and paid for...BUT NOOOOO I HAD TO WAIT 2 HRS TO BE SEEN... ***Dentist: did half of my cleaning and said that she would do the other half with my filling on my next appointment. What's wrong with these guys??? I've moved a lot and had diff dentists...but never in my life heard I have to come twice to get GENERAL CLEANING DONE!!! After waiting 2 hrs to be seen and having to hear this from the dentist...I thought I was going to explode with frustration...the very next day I canceled all my appointments and found another great dentist in Natomas like 1 mile from there and guess what they did my general cleaning on the same day!!! I cannot recommend this Office to even my worst enemy...I had to have the work redone that Dr. Dang did, and Dr. Wang was of no help. The receptionist is a bully, and not nice, and I would never ever go back here again! Having a crown replaced because it was not made right is a big deal. It has a huge overhang, and has caused numerous problems. Thousands of dollars, and also the tooth that was crowned by this office needed a root canal, that they told me was already root canal-ed. I hate going to the dentist, but Dr Wang saved me. I am one of those people who have one foot out the door when I am at the dentist, much like a dog is when he finds out he's going to be staying at a kennel. But, I am glad I went and found Dr. Wang. I thought my life was over when I bit into a sticky candy and my top front cap snapped off. I could literally stick the tip of my tongue through the hole and touch my upper lip. I called Dr. Wang, who my friend raves about. Her front desk lady was very sympathetic and got me in right away. By the time I was sitting in the dental chair I was hysterical and crying. But Dr. Wang was very comforting and gentle. It turns out my broken tooth needed to be pulled out and I would need a dental bridge. Since this was an emergency she pulled out my front tooth that day and made a temporary bridge for me so I wouldn't be toothless. To my surprise everything seemed so effortless for her and painless for me. I couldn't believe how gentle she was and how painless it was. The last dentist who gave me a shot in the front made me feel like I was being stabbed.. Anyways, she took a mold of my teeth and I am just waiting for my permanent bridge.... I was able to go on my date that night without looking like Alfed E. Neuman from MAD Magazine. I love this place. I would give it five stars, but nobody is perfect. read more

I agree with Shelly A's review. The receptionist is a BIT^*. Whenever I call to change my appointment, she gives me an attitude, huffing and puffing like it's a huge task to change an appointment. I don't think she knows that as a receptionist she represents the dentists. I hope Dr. Wong knows that her receptionist is not the right person for the job. Dr. Wong is great dentist but she's not available most of the time. Lately, her partner has been cleaning my teeth. I'm changing my dentist because I'm too tired of dealing with the receptionist's attitude and I want a dentist who actually provides time for her patients. Since I can not go to the bay area all the time to see my fav dentist, I am in search of a caring dentist in Sacramento to clean my teeth. Getting a referral to Dr. Wang from a friend, I promptly schedule an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised by the high tech gadgets and homey but modern feel of the office. Dr. Wang to me seemed very honest and gentle and she was very thorough during my cleaning. I can actually feel my teeth again. My teeth are usually very sensitive during dental cleanings, but I actually didn't feel any discomfort. Unfortunately, I do have a cavity on my wisdom tooth which i have always had problems cleaning myself. Since Dr. Wang showed my a new technique for getting back there , I am actually inspired to floss my teeth more often. I never thought that would ever be the case. I have severe dental phobia, so I delay going to the dentist, and then when I haven't gone for a while, I become afraid of the dentist shaming me for not coming in, so I delay even longer. Fortunately, I discovered Dr. Wang and her team at Extraordinary Smiles. When I went in and explained my issues, they could not have been more supportive. Dr. Wang listened to my needs and did not criticize me at all for what I have not done in the past, but instead helped me have a good experience so I can take better care of my teeth going forward. In addition to a checkup and cleaning, I have now had two crowns replaced, so I can also speak to the skill level of this dentist and her assistant Lisbet. I am very happy with the outcome, and even with a temporary crown my "bite" feels so much better! Starting with the front office staff, everyone was caring and patient. (I was able to listen to my own music with my headphones, which I appreciated.) I drive an hour roundtrip for my visits to Extraordinary Smiles, despite there being other dentists close to where I live. It is well-worth it! Dr Wen-Li, Wang whose the owner for Extraordinary smiles is the worst dentist I have ever been with before, and the receptionist is not friendly also. we made an appointment two weeks ago, but they made another patient at the same time with us, so Dr. Wang served two patient at the same time and she only check my teeth less than 1 minute. Actually, there's a cavity on my teeth. I can see by mirror, but Dr. Wang can't see! It's ridiculous! Her assistant do the cleaning for me less than 3 minutes, so careless !
