What is one supposed to say about a storage unit? It is a boring business. It is not exciting…read more They are not selling you a product that you can take home and wear or eat or admire. I don't think anyone on this planet drives by a storage facility and says, "wow, what an awesome place to spend money." I don't think anyone even cares about these types of businesses.......until they need one. I had some rather expensive furniture delivered before we were ready to put it in our house and I was suddenly in need of a place/. I went to THREE different places to find a unit to rent and I got the run around over and over. The final one was on 7th east right south of Sandy city self storage. There was a sign on the door they said 'be right back'. I, along with 2 other customers sat outside in the middle of the day for more than 20 minutes. No one came. I suddenly had visions of my high school prom date ghosting me after dinner...and became frustrated seeing as how this was the third go aground. I googled storage units near me and up popped sandy city storage. And it was just a couple blocks away. I pulled up and met a man named Bailey. He was friendly, fast, efficient and had me in and out within 10 minutes. Voila. Finished! When I came back a week later to load in the furniture, he again was there and helped me get situated, and was extremely helpful. Now, several months later, I went to check out and couldn't remember the process to get into my unit. He smiled and then helped me out again. It's like Thai guy loves his job. It's like he is super proud to work for such a great....albeit....boring company. Bailey was fantastic!!! So, if you need to store l crap, or treasured jewels, give him a call and you will be glad you did. ....I wonder if the person ever came back from their break at that other storage place..... oh wellZ. You know for a basic storage facility you would think they would have customer service and quality…read moredown to a science but it eludes them. The climate control and the soft jazz playing overhead on loop at high volumes is daunting for those of us just wanting to drop or grab n' go. It is likely to save off loitters but is doing a terrible job as I have witnessed more than a couple units being used as hangout spots for those renting the space. The office is always closed and locked so no one present to help if needed and the rare time an associate is witnessed they are yelling at other patrons about account information then perform a rude drive-by release of frustration on the customer who is paid up to date, has his stuff neatly stacked and is not to add to the situation. She didn't carry herself with the Public Storage brand behind her with her bright fuchsia hair. She was not asking the guy and his guest who she was yelling about his phone being out of service as they were clearly loitering in his unit with her blessing apparently (the "no loitering $500 fine" sign is very prominent as you access the facility. Heck, if she is the manager of this facility she has not returned the one call I made to the voicemail of the manager over 3 months ago. This and out of the blue they sent an email about increasing the price of my unit by 1/3 the original price. This was not in the contract. I was not on a limited time monthly sale to lure the unsuspecting in but just decided the same space without anything changing on their side justifies an increase. I have had my belongings in Public Storage facilities in MD, CO, IL, UT, CA, OR, OH, PA, NJ, NY and AZ in the past 4 years and this is by far the worst as far as caring for the customers and there is definitely no above and beyond, it would be nice if they met their customers on the level of care they promise in online and in their business model. Go elsewhere.
