It entailed the contents of a two-story, 3-br townhome with some heavy, bulky upper and lower lanai stuff (all the large items - we would handle all the kitchen, bathroom, and pantry items) going to a smaller house Regina and staff worked with us, and when the 29th became problematic for us, they were able to shift the move date to May 1st, which helped us tremendously. The three young but surprisingly strong movers - Jason and two polite chaps - showed up on time (8:30 am) and, after an orienting walk-through, they went to work in a very expeditious manner. They were able to fit everything into the truck for one trip about 2.5 miles to the other house. They positioned the 3 disassembled bedsets, two couch sectionals, three roller racks of tubs, a large, very heavy dining room table, four other smaller tables and many other items in short order where we wanted them, and the move was concluded in 4.25 hours - well under the estimated time on the contract and for less than the quotes from the other movers that were available. We were very impressed by how hard and consistently they worked and their professional, engaging, and positive demeanors, given the exertion required. We will surely seek out Royal Hawaiian for any future moves on the Big Island.

This company does not care and will not take appropriate steps to rectify what they supervised. When I denied insurance, I did not sign up for this company removing my door. What this company did to me was an extreme violation of my life damaging my belongings and everything I own. Their response on the BBB was complete mainland aggression and their corporate office running from the problem. The employee on duty the night of the vandalism tried to make excuses that everyone should know Extra Space Storage in Kona has rats and I must be from New York if I don't know that. But the issue at hand is that employees threw over thousands of dollars of boxes onto leather couches and new washer and dryer. I am a teacher in the community and thanks to this business my items are damaged which took me many years of my career to save for. This company has put me in tears and I dearly regret ever doing business here. This is some of the poorest business practice I have ever experienced from a large company.

Our company has a storage unit on property but leased with the previous owners/management company before Extra Space took over. I'm usually concerned about management changes but this time they went from great to excellent. He did a fantastic job of helping explain the paperwork, the pros and cons of each unit, and really made it clear and put forth honest effort to show that as a customer I was his #1 priority. We talked about many different parts of the facility and it's very clear he takes his job and customer satisfaction seriously. Didn't bother to notify us that they were going to crack our space open, and didn't care to clean up after themselves. When we called to have them open our locker so we could access it, they were rude & acted like we were hassling them-- this after making us wait for over a half an hour in the Kona heat. They lock their dumpsters, block the driveways with their own personal vehicles and don't do anything about the severe RAT infestation they have there. We had to dump so much of our things because they were chewed up and/or defecated on by dirty disease carrying RATS. Disgusting and totally defeats the whole purpose of having a space to store and protect your personal belongings! Not happy, which is why we closed our unit down and moved elsewhere.
