They proved negligence in not providing security while removing the door and lock. This company is from California and does not carry any values that represent our community in Kona. This company does not care and will not take appropriate steps to rectify what they supervised. When I denied insurance, I did not sign up for this company removing my door. What this company did to me was an extreme violation of my life damaging my belongings and everything I own. Their response on the BBB was complete mainland aggression and their corporate office running from the problem. The employee on duty the night of the vandalism tried to make excuses that everyone should know Extra Space Storage in Kona has rats and I must be from New York if I don't know that. But the issue at hand is that employees threw over thousands of dollars of boxes onto leather couches and new washer and dryer. I am a teacher in the community and thanks to this business my items are damaged which took me many years of my career to save for. This company has put me in tears and I dearly regret ever doing business here. This is some of the poorest business practice I have ever experienced from a large company.

Our company has a storage unit on property but leased with the previous owners/management company before Extra Space took over. He did a fantastic job of helping explain the paperwork, the pros and cons of each unit, and really made it clear and put forth honest effort to show that as a customer I was his #1 priority. We talked about many different parts of the facility and it's very clear he takes his job and customer satisfaction seriously. He went above and beyond what I would expect and really deserves five stars. I'd give more stars if I could. He's really that good.

While we were there, they broke into our locker to change the locks, and threw their garbage on the ground. Didn't bother to notify us that they were going to crack our space open, and didn't care to clean up after themselves. When we called to have them open our locker so we could access it, they were rude & acted like we were hassling them-- this after making us wait for over a half an hour in the Kona heat. They lock their dumpsters, block the driveways with their own personal vehicles and don't do anything about the severe RAT infestation they have there. We had to dump so much of our things because they were chewed up and/or defecated on by dirty disease carrying RATS. Disgusting and totally defeats the whole purpose of having a space to store and protect your personal belongings! Not happy, which is why we closed our unit down and moved elsewhere. You can try and take your chances with them though. Good luck.

I'm so happy that there was a UPS Store in Waimea town!…read more Driving from Kailua-Kona to Honoka'a, then making my last stop in Waimea, upon having lunch at the Parker Ranch Food Court, I noticed this UPS Store just a few doors down from the food court. Being that I had (5) boxes of broken parts I needed to send back state side, this UPS Store sure was a lifesaver! As I walked into the store I asked one of the clerks if I could borrow a hand truck, that way I could load up all my (5) boxes & bring it into the store one crack! I must say the staff here was friendly, and more than accommodating. The service here was efficient, as the clerk processed my (5) boxes quickly. One of my boxes wasn't packed up yet, as I ran out of shipping tape, but the nice thing about coming to this UPS Store is that they sold shipping supplies. I purchased a small roll of shipping tape, and I gotta say it was sorta pricey, but the convenience factor reflects the price you pay here. If I'm working in Waimea again, it's nice to know that there's a UPS Store here, that way it saves me a trip from having to go down to Kailua-Kona, or to Pahoa town.

Today she gladly took all the people behind us in line (they weee not locals) and when I mentioned we were standing in line way before the people behind us came in she not only made excuses for not even acknowledging us in line & taking everyone behind us, she wouldn't stop going off about it. Her coworker Parker (also not a local) then chimed in and wouldn't stop until he told me to leave a review about their great customer service & I said I will once he gave me his name. I had to ask for it 3 times & then he finally quit his comments. When this location originally opened it was nice & helpful. From my personal experience: as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. Initially I was just there to look around and see what they had to offer because I've never been there before. While I was walking around their small shop I was asked if I needed any help or if I had any questions a feed times. I left and then came back later in the day after I went to a few other places. I purchased 200 small boxes in bulk and a few other things to use for a party. Anyways, upon opening the boxes at home to assemble and fill them, I realize I was missing a few. The next day, I had call to inform them of the missing boxes and without hesitation they told me to come down and pick up the missing amount. I was surprised how fast and easy this issue was rectified. With that being said they now gained a long time customer, regardless of the price difference from online (support local businesses). Every single person I came into contact with at this establishment treated me wonderfully.
