Pros: 1) The location is great. The area is relatively quiet and the facility is newer than others. 2) The indoor units are as large as 10 x 30. 3) The staff is great. They once notified me that I didn't lock my unit. That was FANTASTIC...thank you! Cons: 1) If you use them for six months or longer, you will see dramatic increases in fees. Every six months they increase the rent. For example, I pay $60 more a month from the previous year (air-conditioned unit). The increases come from corporate headquarters, not the local staff. 2) The indoor units aren't that cool, even in the winter. And there is a lot of dust and "particles" floating in the air. You may want to consider covering furniture. read more

I am very disappointed in my experience with Extra Space Storage in Auburn. I rented from them for 3 YEARS. It was a tiny space and in the beginning it seemed like a decent deal. Then, every 6 months they raised my rates, until it did not make sense any longer. I gave them notice online that I was moving out on July 31. Two days later they charged my account for the full month. I asked for a partial refund and was told I "should have come into the office so they could pro-rate for me." Well, they didn't tell me that online. I feel ripped off and unappreciated by Extra Space Storage. Like they really needed lousy $30 dollars, which is what I'd hoped for in refund! BIG RIP OFF!! Be careful. I will never do business with them again. read more

Facility was clean, and a climate-controlled storage bin was reasonably priced. I like that it's near everything but not on a super-busy road, so it's relatively easy to get a moving truck in and out. It was less expensive than a competitor who is in a less-convenient location. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was there on a Sunday and noticed that the front door was not closing all the way, so I called to let them know. Not only did an actual human being take my call (not voicemail or one of those annoying robot menus), but somebody showed up to fix it almost immediately. read more
