I contracted work with EMS last August for an outside kitchen made using the Unilock UCARA system as well as a covered pergola. I will warn anyone looking to source these guys to avoid getting scammed by this company and it's owner Joe Vella. He will take your money and won't bother to show up for days. There is zero communication or accountability. I was very accommodating last fall due to Covid situation but every time you attempt to contact him there will be excuses - in Florida, out sick, not able to meet. But the times he needed your money he will talk about " TRUST". When it comes to completing the work the customer paid for there is ZERO trust with this company. Run as far as you can from this company. Joe, the owner, gave me a great quote back in April. He gave me the feel good speech about how he will take care of me and that he could start the job in 2-3 weeks. Well, 6 weeks go by with no contact. After numerous attempts of trying reach Joe, he finally tells me I am on the schedule and gives me a date. The date he gave came and went without anyone showing up and with no call. AGAIN, I had to reach back out to find out what is going on. Finally after over a week of calling, I am finally able to talk to someone, this time to get the 50% deposit they require back. I was given the first date that they would be at my house with my refund and once again, nobody shows up and no call was placed to me. I then had to call numerous times to find out what happened. They then gave me a new date and just like every other time, nobody shows up or calls. This is by far the worst business I have have dealt with. Do not waste your time with them. read more

I wish that I could give this company a NEGATIVE 5 star rating. I am a victim, as well, of Joe, and Catherine Vella's "criminal activity." As with the many other victims, Joe came to my house, and said that he could give me my "dream" backyard for an unbelievable price ( red flag ). Once I gave him a deposit ( 7k ), I never saw him again. I took Joe Vella to court, and won a judgment against him ( back in May ). Joe Vella is a fraud person and please don't deal with EMS. He will come and ask for deposit through his Paypal account. He will show a deck project that was done by someone else and claims that that's his project. He has targeted several residents in Novi, Northville and Westland area and taken downpayment and no show after that. Please don't deal with him. There are atleast 15-20 residents that he has targeted in the recent 2-3 months and taken deposit and ran away with the money. If you are Northville, Novi residents don't hire them. I was hesitant to contact EMS because of the lack of reviews but after meeting Joe, Quinn and Michelle I was confident they would get our patio project done. I'm a visual person and need to see things. Michelle created a 3D and virtual rendering of our patio area to give us an idea of what we had to look forward to. We were not disappointed.
