I run a local business in Charlotte.  As many other business owners know, climate and seasonal…read moreweather changes can really effect your business.  The majority of our seating is outside making our front patio a popular hang out.  As winters have become warmer and wetter and summers have become hotter and dryer business has slowed down.  Michael Fowler, director of business development at Wellspring Outdoor Solutions, approached me about covering our front patio with one of their aluminum pergola systems.  We loved the idea but were hesitant due to a rare zoning issue the city of Charlotte cursed us with.   Michael and the Wellspring team went above and beyond to make sure that our future patio covering would pass permitting in Mecklenburg County.  They had a specialist come out and observe the patio area and had architects redraw the pergola system to meet zoning standards.  Once our covering had passed permitting it took two days to build the structure.  They closed down a small area  out front, made sure that we stayed open, and that business went on as normal.  We passed inspection with flying colors.  They made the entire process painless for us.  They took care of every little detail the entire step of the way.  We now have a beautiful covered patio that our customers love and can enjoy during any and all weather.  I highly recommend Wellspring Outdoor Solutions for a professional and painless investment into to the future of your business.

I just had to do a review with Decks Plus . We just moved from Boston to Waxhaw N.C. We knew…read moreabsolutely no one. We wanted to put a pergola up to prepare for summer heat. We got a couple of estimates & decided to go with Decks Plus,. We met Marcello. Marcello came by our house he was professional & friendly and had everything laid out. Marcello said he would and walk us thru every step of this process including HOA approvals. Deckplus never tried to up sell, which I liked. Deckplus price was fair and all sun-contractors showed up, were professional and neat, as well as being skilled at their craft. We now have a beautiful pergola & Patio & We couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you Decks Plus & Marcello . We would certainly use you again & highly recommend Deckplus to anybody looking for outdoor construction projects.

Requested a deck quote and setup an appointment. Eric Kent from Deck Plus came and I explained what…read morewe were desiring and when I thought my end vision was understood. He asked how we wanted to move forward and I said please prepare a quote to which he responded "I don't do that, I can give you a ballpark and if your serious I can be more detailed once you want to move forward". I responded in surprise so what what is your 90% ballpark estimate as we discussed (understanding minor adjustments and design changes can change cost as well as materials prices). His response was 30k so I asked he email me it as we discussed to confirm the size and design and again he said I don't do that and if you want to move forward we can get more detailed. I asked him directly " am I detecting an attitude in your responses as my desire is to make sure we are on the same page. If I can't get the estimating person to provide a basic estimate to build off with out a tone that I should just agree and hand him my cash is unacceptable. A basic estimate would have taken him maybe 15 minutes and would lay out timelines, payment schedule and clarification on what the 30k provides is not to much to expect. Under no conditions would I agree to any work where I get a fraction of my desires addressed / confirmed understanding and then be spoken to like "agree to us doing it then we can address your questions with a condescending tone. I thanked him and walked him to his vehicle. I called the office and explained my dissatisfaction and refuse to use a company that the sales person can not keep his frustration in check and forgot I am the one paying for the project and not some guy on the street that was interfering with his day. Attitude and respect sets the stage and if providing a quote is an annoyance, then don't advertise a free quote (perhaps the old saying you you get what you pay for is true, I paid noting and got my money's worth). I would prefer to pay for an estimate fee and feel my desires were heard and understood as I make my decision. George

    Great Day Improvements

One star is generous. I have had nothing but problems with the APEX window brand. From day one…read more(wrong windows came in after 80 days lead time), to fogging windows, windows losing their tension and slipping down, uneven sashes in the frames (gaps and light seen). Over 7 service calls, the service departments IS RESPONSIVE and the tech they send is friendly and good, but they are fighting an uphill battle trying to support a clearly flawed product. One or two small issues is always understandable but the array of issues, all different, is unacceptable. I have tried to elevate the documentation of my issues, to the parent company, there are over 20 pictures of the problems on file, I have written to the District Manager in Georgia, and I get no response in regarding compensation or resolution. Had I received any type of compensation or credit I would not have to go to the next level, which I hate to do, but after the incorrect ordering debacle, 7+ services calls, several window sashes already replaced, installation flaws and failures due to many aspects of the windows operation and performance, I am left with no choice. Finally, after reading the reviews, I was shocked to see how negative they all were and now I am just another dissatisfied customer. I am an architect and I specify windows and while these aren't high quality windows, I expected a much better product for $19,000+ and in my neighborhood specifically I have referred several customers and I do not look forward to the expected backlash and damage to my reputation as a design and construction expert.

The various reviews I read are consistent with my experience with this company. I had a 3-season…read moreroom installed about 20 months ago. Just coming to the end of my second winter. I live in NH so we get snow. This room CANNOT handle snow load although they state it can. I need to shovel the roof or it starts to settle and the doors no longer close tight. Similar to other reviews, the service crews are responsive and professional, but they can't fix an inherent flaw in the design and construction of the room. They have added supports under the deck, at their expense, but still have the same problem. Other than replacing the roof with a structure that can handle the snow load, I don't believe there is a solution. As someone else reported, I would take compensation at this point to walk away, but they won't consider this. So, I will have them continue to come out every year, multiple times a year at their great expense and my annoyance to poke at the room, but never provide a solution. I have tried to escalate to someone who might actually understand the issue such as a structural engineer, but cannot get access to anyone but customer service. Lost cause at this point but I'll keep trying.
